I really enjoyed the fact that the first arkham games didn't have multiplayer, it pisses me off when singleplayer games just have multiplayer tacked on

Mind you I actually hoped for some Batman/Robin/Nightwing/Catwoman 2plyr coop for the challenge mode since the combat system would allow for easy implementation, and it wouldn't hurt the game's main narrative. Nobody was cool with that, either.
Now you'll get some weird multiplayer about playing as the badguys to get the good guys with some stupid exp system and DLC and whatever else WB tells their in-house studio to do. I know I come off as a cynic, but I know what I'm talking about with these things. All you could hope for is the new guys maintaining the strengths of the first two games in regard to mechanics and story direction. A larger environment sounds like a good start in terms of gameplay and scope, however obvious after getting city blocks to play with last time. |

Kevin Conroy apparently is going to be in the game, in some capacity. Seemingly comes from some Q&A he did recently but I'm seeing some people saying he is playing Batman, others that he's not.

He was also Robin in AC, Nightwing /Sinestro in Injustice and Batman in the Lego Batman 2. On top of that he's pretty much "the guy" in games voice acting right now, should be pretty good here.

According to Warner Bros, the reason for the lack of a Wii U logo for the multiplayer trailer is because the dev team doesn't have that version as a priority for multiplayer.

Well this thread died a sad death, the game is out for most parts of the world and user reviews seem to be very optimistic so far. For the US, it unlocks at 12 pm EST with preloading open now.
I have the game preloaded and ready for action over the weekend :D |

i'm not expecting it to be revelatory, but i have no doubts that it's going to be a worthy addition to the franchise.
i keep telling myself that not all dev changes end up badly - just look at tomb raider's switch from core to crystal dynamics. that was the best thing they possibly could have done. yes, raider was a significantly older franchise when it switched devs and thus the mechanics and general set-up was feeling obviously tired, but i dunno. with such a solid framework to work off, and the base expectations from fans of the series to drive them, i'm not expecting this will be a disaster or anything. i don't think it's going to be "game of the year"-worthy (especially since there's no hamill, no conroy, and a new composer who has apparently gone down a more 'electronic' route than the previous two games), but i still think it'll be worth admission |

As far as new dev goes, don't worry about it- same mechanics, improved fighting, big ass city. It is no worse than AC, and possibly only better.
