Moonax 08-31-2013 12:19 PM

I think if Yahoo keeps this up I'll be looking for a location for fantasy sports.

Draft is tomorrow so last call for anyone who wants to take part

#1-norm-fan 09-01-2013 02:49 AM

I'll jump in if it doesn't fuck the numbers up royally.

Next Big Thing 09-01-2013 10:05 AM

Pumped. This officially marks the start of the NFL season for me.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-01-2013 10:21 AM

Yahoo says they have slightly improved things but won't be going back to the old format.

Evil Vito 09-01-2013 10:50 AM

Can't wait to start the 1985 season. Have my draft later today. Hoping I have the first pick so I can get Eric Dickerson. That kid was amazing last year.

Marcus Allen would be a good choice, too. Dunno about QB in the first round but Dan Marino is tempting. I wonder how early someone will take the Bears D.

road doggy dogg 09-01-2013 12:41 PM

draft in 20 mins gents
crossrine

#1-norm-fan 09-01-2013 03:59 PM

Goddammit. I found out 3 hours after the draft started that I'm already in the league because the teams are carrying over from last year. I'm doomed to never draft in a TPWW league.

Evil Vito 09-01-2013 04:47 PM

Shit. Either Yahoo doesn't allow IR spots to be used until the season starts, or they're just not allowing me to place Percy Harvin there because he's technically on the PUP list, not the Seahawks active roster.

#1-norm-fan 09-01-2013 05:18 PM

What's the point of the IR spots? This isn't a keeper league, is it?

Evil Vito 09-01-2013 05:20 PM

IR in fantasy is kinda like DL spots in baseball. Just a way to stash a guy and free up an extra roster spot until the injured guy returns.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-01-2013 05:27 PM

It's been essentially useless until they introduced a new short-term IR last season. I think the only use for it was in keeper leagues until last season.

Moonax 09-01-2013 06:25 PM

What I want to see is if they are going to add an NA position as they did in baseball this year. This means you could keep those players who are suspended for half the season.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-01-2013 06:32 PM

Might be too much of a safety net for people who accidentally draft suspended people.

My team is awesome if I do say so myself. Having a celebratory beer. One more draft to go tomorrow during Raw so I probably won't be able to post much in the live thread.

Dragon 09-01-2013 06:55 PM

Definitely went different than I usually do and blew half my budget on 2 guys in Peterson and McCoy.

My depth is horrible because of it though.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-01-2013 09:13 PM

Made a connected franchise in Madden for 360.

I did a similar thing, blowing $98 on Charles and Spiller. In the end though, I'm very happy with my defensive lineup and my team overall. Overpaid on some guys but whatever

parkmania 09-02-2013 02:02 PM

Had my draft last night. ESPN ranks me an F. Fuckin hate ESPN, just because I took a couple flyers on rookies and kick returners... Also, it's a keeper league, straight draft, not auction.

QB: Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning
RB: Jamaal Charles, MJD, Fred Jackson, Jonathan Stewart
WR: Andre Johnson, Devin Hester, Dwayne Bowe, Golden Tate, Dexter McCluster, Reuben Randle, Cordarelle Patterson
TE: Jason Witten, Heath Miller, Tyler Eifert
D/ST: Bengals, Rams
K: Blair Walsh, Janikowski

Next Big Thing 09-02-2013 03:19 PM

Not sure how I feel about my team. God damn auction drafts.

QB: Kaepernick, Cutler
RB: Murray, MJD, Pierre Thomas, Ben Tate
WR: Vincent Jackson, Victor Cruz, Sidney Rice, Vincent Brown
TE: Jimmy Graham, Jared Cook
K: Matt Bryant

Part of me desperately wants to believe this is a championship group, but I feel like I should probably shop Graham for another back

Next Big Thing 09-02-2013 07:31 PM

Moonax! Let's make a deal. I need Miles Austin.

Moonax 09-02-2013 09:24 PM

I'd prefer a 1 for 1 trade. I've made you a counter offer.

Don't know if anybody has ever said they needed Miles Austin ever.

I guess you never played fantasy football in 2009. Or 2010. Or 2011.

Miles Austin won me a title in 2011 I believe. I just have a feeling that he'll be healthy and productive this year. I think the Cowboys in general will do well this year and surprise a lot people.

road doggy dogg 09-04-2013 05:44 AM

I'm in on the Cowboys this year too. I think Redskins gonna finish last in NFC East

I'ma just use this thread as a generic "cool story bro" fantasy-related thread to discuss all fun things here.

In a 10 teamer I did over the weekend, I was Skyping it in with some IRL bros. Had to leave early for family obligations so I stayed long enough to draft my starting team and had them draft my bench with "best player available". Anyway lineups were finally entered last night. As expected, had some scrubs so I hounded the FA pool for replacements.

Somehow, in a 10 team league, Le'Veon Bell went undrafted. o_O

I drafted a 10 teamer yesterday and he went undrafted also. Supposed to be out another month. Probably not worth the roster spot in a 10 teamer, unless you're desperate at RB

Right now he's splitting carries with Hillman and Knowshon. Supposedly Hillman was the starter going into the Ravens game, but Moreno was out there on the first few snaps. Ball took over the spot in the 4th.

He is 100% worth a stash in 10 teamers, unless you have really short benches

DaveWadding 09-11-2013 06:25 PM

here's my two public league teams I drafted this week, with draft positions:

QB: Rodgers (2.8), RGIII (9.3)
RB: McCoy (1.3), S. Jackson (3.3), R. Bush (5.3), McFadden (8.8)
WR: Colston (4.8), Welker (6.8), Michael Floyd (12.8), Hopkins (14.8), Harvin (15.3)
TE: Witten (7.3), J. Cameron (13.3)
K: Legatron (10.8)
DEF: Tampa Bay (11.3)

QB: M. Ryan (5.2), J. Flacco (14.9)
WR: L. Fitzgerald (3.2) R. Wayne (4.9), S. Smith (7.2), M. Austin (9.2), P. Harvin (15.2)
RB: C.J. Spiller (1.2), C. Johnson (2.9), L. Miller (6.9), D. Richardson (8.9)
TE: J. Cook (10.9), J. Thomas (13.2)
K: Legatron (11.2)
DEF: Rams (12.9)

Got burned on 2 waiver claims this morning in a league with my buddy. Everybody put in for Julius Thomas. But I thought I had the inside track on Julian Edelman and I would land him. Didn't.

Wide Receiver situation is dicey for me at the moment. Gonna be bad if James Jones doesn't see the ball for the 2nd game in a row.

road doggy dogg 09-12-2013 12:46 AM

I have #1 waiver in one league but not sure if anyone in week 1 really set themselves up to be worth burning it on. Julius Thomas yeah sure but I see him being a lot more "feast or famine" (hate cliches) than a solid weekly contributor. Eric Decker isn't going to put up too many stat lines like his week 1 line. Hate chasing points.

Edelman is intriguing, especially if Amendola is out and with Vereen's injury. I could see him being solid for a few weeks until Amendola and Gronk are healthy, then he'll probably be lost in the shuffle. Dunno. Again, not sure if I wanna burn a #1 waiver on him.

Nobody else really wowed me week 1.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-12-2013 01:06 AM

2-1 in leagues this week. Blew everybody out of the water in my 2 QB league/PPR league.

Peyton Manning does love him some Julius Thomas, I'd consider picking him up were I in your shoes.

THE DRAGON KILLER

screech 09-26-2013 10:43 PM

Need some advice, pals: Dwayne Bowe against the Giants or Brian Hartline against the Saints?

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-26-2013 11:04 PM

PPR?

Skippord 09-27-2013 12:15 AM

Dwayne Bowe

screech 09-27-2013 12:27 PM

Yes it is PPR. Love Bowe, but Alex Smith is a h8r and barely throws to him. Hartline can be a TD machine, but since Wallace whined I may get burned there.

screech 09-27-2013 12:30 PM

Since the Giants' defense seems to be worse than the Saints' right now, Bowe may get open enough (ie. Have no one within 5 yards) for Alex Smith to be comfortable throwing to him.

ClockShot 09-29-2013 07:03 PM

Grab Santonio Holmes off waivers, favorable matchup against the titans today says the insiders.

NOT!

owenbrown 09-29-2013 09:41 PM

oops

screech 09-29-2013 11:29 PM

Started Bowe in one league. Going to win, good look, Skippord

Gonna win both leagues this week, actually :)

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-29-2013 11:43 PM

If the equipment doesn't work this time fuck that shit.

Moonax 10-01-2013 12:07 AM

I might have sneaked a win again this week thanks to a monster performance by Darren Sproles.

Although I might get mugged on stat correction :(

Was down by about 30 last night now leading by 0.4

Both of my wins have been by the narrowest margin of the week :o

Skippord 10-01-2013 09:03 PM

if I ever murder Darren Sproles the police can use this game as evidence

Moonax 10-01-2013 09:42 PM

It was about time he turned up.

Skippord 10-01-2013 09:54 PM

he can turn up dead, for all I care.

Moonax 10-02-2013 12:58 AM

Don't worry I am sure that in the playoffs he'll go missing. Although you did still have one Miami guy going last week and a huge lead.

My team sucks this year. I could easily be 0-4 rather than 3-1

Skippord 10-02-2013 01:19 AM

I seriously checked the score on my phone at halftime and saw I was losing and forgot one of my defensive guys was Phillip Wheeler. So I didn't check again for awhile and when I checked again I was winning. So I was like "I MAY JUST PULL THIS ONE OUT" then this morning I had lost by .97 points or something. Then I punched a hole in my wall and started doing Cape Fear style chin ups.

#1-norm-fan 10-03-2013 07:26 PM

Trying to decide between Jay Cutler and Russel Wilson in one of my leagues. One downside to not making sure to pick up an elite QB is you can't just "set it and forget it". Always faced with these decisions.

Cutler passes more and he's playing New Orleans so it should be a shoot-out. Wilson can pick up some rushing yards playing in the dome against Indy. Plus he seems like the "safer" pick.

I DUNNO.

Moonax 10-03-2013 11:26 PM

I hate players who are either feast or famine. Give me a squad of guys who will turn in 15 points each week than guys who will give you a 25 one week and a 3 the next.

although now we're starting to be hit by bye week hell.

road doggy dogg 10-04-2013 11:48 AM

Finally, the first Sunday in nearly a month where I can actually pay attention to my teams and maybe actually start reasonable players.

screech 10-04-2013 11:52 AM

Matt Ryan vs the Jets or "that douchebag" Phillip Rivers vs the Raiders?

Dwayne Bowe :(

road doggy dogg 10-04-2013 12:07 PM

That's a tough one. I hate Matt Ryan bc he looks like he's 17 but he "puts up the numbers" and I think the Jets are sneaky-good (at least, not a 3-13 team like people are expecting). PRiv is a total #heel and is lighting it up sans Norv Turner glass ceiling-ing him and Raiders secondary is awful waffle. I'd coin-flip it. IDK. What is this ESPN. START WHOEVER YOU WANT. PRiv.

#1-norm-fan 10-04-2013 07:00 PM

I'd go with Ryan. He's in the dome and the Raiders D is capable of "showing up" to atleast put on a decent performance. Especially at home. In fact the only real shitty game they played so far was against Denver but... it's Denver.

ClockShot 10-05-2013 02:20 PM

Grabbed Rashad Jennings off the free agent list this morning since I've been using scrap heap #2 runningbacks since day 1. Analysts are saying he's "the guy" getting all the carries this weekend for Oakland.

Where's Droford, I need my Ravens dirt on weather I should start Marlon Brown or is Jacoby Jones gonna be coming back?

Evil Vito 10-14-2013 12:19 AM

Tim Jennings, Paul Posluzny, and AJ Hawk combine to get me nearly 70 points. I win by over 100 points despite Alex Smith, Ray Rice, Jason Witten, and Eric Decker doing next to nothing. Wooooo!

screech 10-14-2013 12:29 AM

Yahoo said Larry Fitzgerald wasn't playing so I sat him. He scored double what Dwayne Bowe did. Might still win that league though. Rivers and Keenan Allen to go. I'm up 3 and my opponent has Luck.

Fitz actually scored almost 5 times what Bowe did. Fuckin yahoo. Hoping Allen and Rivers can do well tonight.

screech 10-14-2013 12:32 AM

In my other league I got a server error trying to insert Jordy Nelson. Would have given me 42 more, but I wouldn't have won that matchup anyway.

Moonax 10-15-2013 09:08 PM

If nothing else Yahoo's recapping tool has the best headline this week:

'Chris Cooley's Penis Explodes'

Seriously though, will someone trade for Trent Richardson. What a complete fucking carthorse.

road doggy dogg 10-15-2013 10:09 PM

Still stand by my comments that it was a brilliant trade by the Browns.

#1-norm-fan 10-23-2013 05:28 PM

"Team WWF pounded Chris Cooley's Penis"

Moonax 10-27-2013 01:25 AM

The only good thing about last week is that even if I had played other players I still would have lost. The whole team just chose last week to suck serious balls.

screech 10-27-2013 10:48 AM

Can't decide between Bernard/Jackson at RB in one league, and between Tate and Bowe at WR in the other. Feel like it's lose-lose with the WR :(

ClockShot 10-27-2013 11:23 AM

Quick, Denver (vs. Redskins) or Green Bay's (vs. Vikings) defense today?

Who should I go with?

screech 10-27-2013 11:39 AM

Denver.

Frank Drebin 10-27-2013 12:00 PM

Pack.....Josh Freeman in a new offense.

Ruien 10-27-2013 02:41 PM

Lost Reggie Wayne and was able to get a trade for Steve Smith with only giving up Mike James from TB.

Razzamajazz 10-27-2013 03:38 PM

fuckin michael vick

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-27-2013 03:40 PM

You actually started Vick as a QB? I don't think you can blame him for your idiocy.

Razzamajazz 10-27-2013 03:43 PM

you're right, i'm an idiot for choosing him over someone with a bye this week

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-27-2013 04:14 PM

owenbrown 10-27-2013 04:26 PM

Unbelievable I lose by .30 points. Going into tonight I needed Legatron, Sherman, and Ogletree to combine for 20. I just needed 1 more fucking point, not even. Yeah, spending half my budget in the draft on McCoy/Peterson turned out pretty good. Have ridiculous RB depth with McCoy-Peterson-Moreno-Bernard-Stacy-Ellington.

In the other league Triple A picked up both his QBs for the week off waivers and they proceeded to outscore mine by 25 pts
