fag

anyway I am a big fan of Josh Brolin, Gosling, and Matthew Goode but I don't like any of them for Batman

Matthew Goode would be a cool Aquaman or something though

McLegend 08-07-2013 06:18 PM

I don't like the Josh Brolin rumors.

Mind you I wouldn't know who to pick, but I wouldn't go with him.

Corporate CockSnogger 08-07-2013 06:39 PM

Adam West

McLegend 08-07-2013 06:58 PM

He would be an older Batman.

Blitz 08-08-2013 05:39 AM

Matthew Goode could play up the psycho saviour side of Batman, no prob.

Skippord 08-08-2013 09:43 AM

I think he's already done that

Skippord 08-08-2013 09:45 AM

I want it to be Joe Manganiello

he's the best

Swiss Ultimate 08-08-2013 11:15 AM

Robert Downey Jr. as Batman.

VSG 08-08-2013 11:17 AM

Damn right

Just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks:

Would anyone want to see Jean Paul Valley in the movies?

DaveBrawl 08-08-2013 08:28 PM

Yes, but I am a fan of many things awful.

Kalyx triaD 08-08-2013 10:32 PM

In some capacity, sure. Just not a transplant of the Knightfall thing.

parkmania 08-09-2013 12:49 PM

So, Batman yes - Azbat no?

Kalyx triaD 08-09-2013 12:57 PM

Not even as Batman at all, perhaps out the gate as Azreal.

Damian Rey 08-09-2013 02:13 PM

I'd like to see them wait on all the additional characters. I really want an established but still somewhat young (early 30s) Batman adopting Dick Grayson and dealing with the aspects of being a father figure and allowing a young but skilled child like Dick joining his war on crime.

Ryan Gosling?

The fuck?

Nark Order 08-10-2013 01:08 PM

Ryan Gosling could definitely be Batman, IMO.

Damian Rey 08-10-2013 04:27 PM

I think, in terms of overall chops, Gosling is the strongest choice. I'd prefer someone with a bigger build, maybe a better voice, and darker hair, but two of those things can be remedied. So I guess his voice may be the only if for me.

But I'd be stoked to see the role go from an esteemed actor in Bale to another esteemed actor in Gosling. Brings a bit of prestige to the role.

Sixx 08-15-2013 09:44 AM

So, supposedly they offered Bale $50 million to star in this.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/n...vs-batman.html

The worst part of this article:

Orlando Bloom has emerged as a potential "hot favourite" to take over the Batman role from Bale.

Kalyx triaD 08-15-2013 12:40 PM

The Orlando Bloom thing is horse shit. Possibly every rumor we heard so far is horse shit, except for Mark Strong as Lex.

I love Mark Strong.

Kalyx triaD 08-15-2013 01:40 PM

It flies in the face of the consistent rumors (an older Batman). And then there's my gut that's correct more often than not. And the way it's worded too - "Hot favorite". Orlando Bloom? Really?

mitchables 08-22-2013 09:37 PM

ben affleck, really?

i don't know if i can get behind that. worry that he will suffer from the same problem clooney had in the role. like awful movie aside, batman and robin was never going to work because i just couldn't believe clooney was being anyone other than clooney. it's all part of a wider objection to casting renowned actors in these roles. i want to look at the screen and see batman, not ben affleck in a batman suit.

McLegend 08-22-2013 09:43 PM

Interesting

Blitz 08-22-2013 09:44 PM

The faster people realize that this is not going to be Chris Nolan's Batverse, the better off we'll be. Already I've seen an inordinate (even for the internet) amount of bitching about this. I've never understood why Affleck gets the shit he does. He's a good actor who's turned in some excellent performances. I'm fine with this.

Sixx 08-22-2013 09:54 PM

Oh, come on.

I gotta say, he recently grew on me (mainly as a director, but his acting is also good, especially comparing it to the earlier shit like Gigli or say, Daredevil) but the fuck is this? He's got this cute, charming guy shit going on in his face, boyish smile or whatever. That is fucking gay.

all true, but he's not suited to this kind of movie. i maintain that his recognisability will adversely affect the immersiveness of the film, regardless of the tone they pursue with it. :-\

loopydate 08-22-2013 10:01 PM

I respect Affleck as an actor. He's cultivated an excellent career. However, I saw Daredevil.

dronepool 08-22-2013 10:02 PM

It's just a movie I like Batman a lot and I don't care, I'll see the trailer and if it sucks I'll do what I always do, smoke some pot and move on. But I do LOVE seeing fanboys all upset.

McLegend 08-22-2013 10:03 PM

So you're saying he's too famous and you won't be able to suspend disbelief, or what?

Sixx 08-22-2013 10:10 PM

Now let's hope Nicholas Cage pulls the strings to finally realise his dream of playing Superman.

http://comicbook.com/wp-content/uplo...rman-lives.jpg

Cast Cedric the Entertainer as Alfred, too, because why the fuck not?

Lock Jaw 08-22-2013 10:20 PM

Looking through his IMDB, the only movies I have ever seen Ben Affleck in are Armageddon (which I don't remember at all) and Daredevil.

slik 08-22-2013 10:22 PM

Christian Bale comes across as someone who could punch you and you'd be down for the count. Mark Wahlberg (I wouldn't cast Mark Wahlberg as Batman) comes across as someone who could punch you and you'd be down for the count. Ben Affleck seems to me like someone who could punch you and you'd be like 'Aight, bitch, that's all you've got'. I just feel like Batman should be someone who won't leave me feeling 'Aight, bitch that's all you got'.

slik 08-22-2013 10:22 PM

Ben Affleck is going to have to punch me. This is probably the only way for me to determine if he is a good choice.

Maybe they remember his last superhero movie.

I'm sure you can name several that are actually similar in possible style and scope to a superhero movie, but I can't. Pattern recognition requires, you know, a pattern.

Of course, it stands to reason that if an actor is bad in one film in a genre, there's no way that they could ever be good in another film in that genre. Never mind the fact that today's superhero film is pretty far removed from where they were a decade ago.

Lot of available pattern recognition off of that singular superhero film he did.

I read that they wanted an "older" actor to play Batman and that the front runner was Josh Brolin. That would've been awesome.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-23-2013 01:17 AM

Who would be better to play older Batman than Michael Keaton? Missed opportunity.

Kalyx triaD 08-23-2013 01:34 AM

That would cause all manner of confusion.

parkmania 08-23-2013 05:01 AM

If they wanted A) an older Batman with B) name recognition, why not Bruce Willis?

Oh, and by the way, don't forget it could always have been worse. We could have gotten Matt Damon:

Love it DC! Finally doing any kind of crossover movie, and it doesn't even get the actors who established themselves as the characters.

Personally, I love Affleck, but if they really wanted a crossover/team-up appeal, it should be Christian Bale.

The way I see it is, it isn't Adam Sandler. So it won't be a comedy movie and thus I will remain optimistic.

The Rogerer 08-23-2013 08:25 AM

Kevin Conroy plays a cheesy Batman that didn't work in the Arkham games. It is clearly a voice acting performance that would look stupid coming from an actual human, and he looks like Rolf Harris.

Love the histrionics.

It does stand to reason that stepping outside the element for which he's known and accomplished in order to do a movie in a genre both out of his comfort zone and in which he's done poorly once before might be at issue.

If either of those had previously failed in a comparable movie, this would be a valid argument. But, unless I'm remembering incorrectly and "Mr. Mom" was actually about a man who was bitten by a radioactive mother and became the masked vigilante Mr. Mom, it's not.
