Had no idea at all who the guardians of the galaxy were and still don't, but think looks good. Going to make a ton of money
I'm with you on the old Guardians love. Finding second hand copies of that book as a kid is really what got me into comics.

Batista BOMBED! |
Pond :(
Miss that ginger hair. |
Marvel has really won me over by using nine inch nails songs in their trailers
Nebula looks awesome. Wonder if the whole Thanos' grand daughter thing will come up.
Her 'relation' to him has been hinted at for a while actually. In interviews.
It's weird, because when she debuted, she was hinted at being related to Thanos, but then they never really did anything with it. Never even confirmed whether she is or isn't.
Since she's been able to stand on her own as an intergalactic pirate, I wondered if they'd even bother in the film. |
I have no idea who Nebula is.
I think she's meant to be Thanos' adopted daughter in the film, same as Gamora.
Nebula claims to be Thanos' granddaughter. When he finds out about it, he kills her and brings her back as a zombie. She got better after he became Eternity though.
I never read the comic, but I want to see this movie really bad for some reason. It just looks like a lot of fun.
Absolutely. I had zero interest before the trailer dropped.
I got interested mostly cause it's MCU. The trailer only got me fascinated even more.
Never read the comics (except for an issue here and there during crossovers) cause I ain't really a fan of Marvel in space. |
I imagine this is going to make a lot of money and make Spiderman 2 look even worse by comparison.
Doubt they're even going through with the next spider man films because of how much money they lost. |
Quote:
First one made around 750 mill and the second made almost 600 so far. Also, even though GoG looks pretty sweet I doubt it will make that much money. Those characters just ain't that popular among people that ain't hardcore comic book fans. |

Neither was pretty much any Marvel character other than Spider-Man and the X-Men (mainly Wolverine)
Ok, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration. |
Quote:
As for GOG, I dunno, I don't know the characters, but based on the trailer I want to see this movie. Will probably take my family too. It looks like a fun space-fantasy movie with well-developed characters and humor. I want to watch it. I bet it does well. |

Guardians of the Galaxy will do well at the box-office.

The Amazing Spidey movies made a lot of money and they are making more of them.
Maybe. Have they started production yet? It's never too late to change directors/writers/direction.
Might as well go ahead and reboot the whole thing right now. |
I think a Spider-Man origin story is just what hollywood needs right now.
Quote:
Yes pre-production is going for Venom and Sinister Six. It is in fact too late.
Oh well, two more films I probably won't watch.

Not that I think that they will stop. Just saying. |

I want to see this sooooo bad.
GoG will be the first bomb Marvel will have. And when I say bomb, it won't make Captain America or Iron Man money. Think of it making first X-Men money.
I thought they'd already dropped a trailer?
Quote:
If you're going to use it as a "flop" benchmark, then Marvel have already had one with Incredible Hulk which took in less money than X-Men, even before you start looking at stuff like adjusting for inflation. I don't think GotG's going to do as well as some of their other stuff, but providing it gets decent write ups I think it should do ok. |
I think it'll do fine. A lot of people I know have said the trailer looks awesome, and every film I've seen in the theatre that played it before the feature laughed at all the right parts.
Just because they're not known characters doesn't mean the film won't potentially be a success, I mean, isn't that the case for more-or-less every film ever? |
I have to admit, the movie is warming up to me. I like the new poster.
Nobody knew what men in black was before it came out.
Funny scenese and aliens is going to make good money. Most people won't even realize it's a comic book before going to see it. |
I only want it to make money if I like it, because then they'll make more stuff I like.
Selfish I know. |

Ronin looking good
this looks so good. I'm excited.
Fucking Ronan looks so awesome. Can't wait for this to drop.
Quote:
That being said, I can't wait to see this movie, even though I don't give a single fuck about them in the comic books. |
Being unknown isnt a bad thing.
My mom saw this trailer and I asked what she thought. She said it looked like a pretty cool space movie. The draw isnt going to be in the fact that it was a comic book, the draw is the marvel name and what looks like a cast of great characters. |
Yeah agree with a lot being said here. No idea who any of the characters are but it looks really fun and I'm excited for it.

Dave Batista, John C. Reilly, the chick from Avatar and a talking raccoon? I'm in
And a white haired Benicio Del Toro. I didn't think I would want to see this, but the new trailer looks great.
That was a good trailer, although I prefer the earlier trailers, less serious than this. They seemed to be having more fun with the film.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/nPOhVCVA-uU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Getting better... |
So is Nathan Fillion legit cameo-ing as a talking Russian dog? 'Cause that's pretty much the best thing ever.
I've heard about him doing a cameo, haven't heard anything about Cosmo being in the movie, but it would be rad.
Cosmo is the latest rumour for who he's playing, after James Gunn denied he was playing Nova.
So far there's still one thing missing from the MCU - Ron Perlman.
He's coming. Trust me he's coming.

...WHERE IS GROOT!?

*Got tickets for tomorrow at 2, like I said the trailers got me curious/interested.
The guy (Tyler Bates) involved with the music of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is part of /involved with the current line up of my favorite band in the world - WAMG: What other projects are coming up for you? TB: For now, I’m going on tour. I just finished co-writing and producing Marilyn Manson’s new record. That was fantastic. We have a great relationship and we’re very good friends. We work very naturally together, so this music was really just us having fun. It turned out to be his new album. We worked hard on it and really enjoyed it. He did bring it to my attention that it would be insane of me not to go out and play this record with him. It’s obviously a rare opportunity and it’s where I come from – making records in my earlier days. I’m super psyched! I’m fortunate to have the TV show “Salem” that did really well its first season. The people involved in that are so great. It was such a pleasure to work with them. Manson and I did the title sequence on that, which will return for another season. I’m working on another show called “Kingdom” which I’m very excited about. It is a drama centered around a Mixed Martial-Arts gym and the family that owns it. I just finished on a movie with Keanu Reeves and Willem Dafoe called JOHN WICK. That was very cool. As with GUARDIANS, there are songs interspersed in this film as well. There’s a song I wrote with Marilyn Manson. There’s a song I wrote with my friend Ciscandra Nostalghia, whose career is blowing up right now. I worked on the score with my friend Joel Richard. It’s really a great collection of people on the team. http://www.wearemoviegeeks.com/2014/...r-tyler-bates/ |
Seriously thinking of seeing this again. The only film I've ever seen twice in the cinema was Avatar, because I saw it in 2D and then wanted to see it in 3D (which ended up being shite in my opinion). But yeah, genuinely loved this film so much. The action, the humour, the acting and story, everything is spot-on. I'm really excited for all you guys who have yet to see it, and really excited to see this hopefully become another huge hit for Marvel.
5,461 users on IMDB so far have rated this an average score of 9.0. Whilst it'll obviously go down a lot over the next few days, this still leaves me hopeful that it'll be a huge success.
I'm gonna rate it 10 before seeing it, brb.
Ok.
You won't regret it. :D
Most of my friends don't like the look of it (I'm apparently friends with huge faggots) so I'm gonna have to wait a while to go see it I think. Might go on my own at the weekend if I've got no plans.

Then you might peek where they're gonna seat, buy a ticket next to them and pretend you're with friends. |
GOING TO SEE THIS IN ONE HOUR
Karen Gillan as Nebula had me marking out, "LIARA T'Soni, IS THAT YOU?!?"
http://screenrant.com/wp-content/upl...he-Galaxy.jpeg http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spi...46974_full.png Dammit, she's indoctrinated. lol. |
This movie is the business.
I just got back from the cinema and I quite enjoyed the film; I thought it was fun. I don't know if I liked it more than Captain America: Winter Soldier, but still, I thought it was better than Dawn of the Apes.
When exactly is Thanos going to be the main villain in one of the Marvel films, instead of just being in the shadows? |
Looks like Avengers 3 which is slated for 2018 but I imagine there's gonna be a lot of different Marvel movies in between Avengers 2 and 3 to kind of connect things here and there. It seems like they're setting up the Avengers films with the other Marvel movies while still keeping each movie as their own individual film.
Good deduction, Sherlock
I actually really enjoyed this. One of Marvels best.
My FB post about it- Guardians of the Galaxy was very good. If you think comic based movies are limited to certain things.. Many are so I can't disagree but this was very well done, it wasn't rushed to make a quick buck, it used obscure character leads and took risks. Winter Solider was the most thought provoking with underlining themes while this is the most unique presentation of a Marvel movie yet. |
Just saw it. Definitely enjoyed it. Not as good as Winter Soldier, but still pretty sweet. Can definitely see more "casual" fans being confused by this movie. Tried to cram a lot in there.

Anyone else had this incident too? Cos, my local theater NEVER EVER did that to us. lol. |
This movie was fucking awesome. Happy with literally everything.
Also, amazing and unexpected post credits scene. |
I went to a sneak peek on Wednesday night. The movie was just fun from the start. It reminded me of Star Wars, but less serious. Chris Pratt was awesome. Zoe Saldana was even hotter as a green chick. The raccoon pretty much stole the entire movie. Batista was actually really good, and I think that he will get the most praise of his entire career from this wrestling forum for this movie.
I saw it in 3D though, and that gave me a headache while I got adjusted to it. I might go see it again in the standard theater. I really hate most of what Hollywood comes out with because it is garbage until Oscar season, but this was a great popcorn/fun/funny flick. |
