They are not slaves they do the work for US dollars and send it back to thier families in Mexico so they can survive. I am helping out a race of people all Gertner is doing is puting down the white man for no reason.

#1-norm-fan 10-11-2014 08:43 PM

Do you pay them more than .25 an hour?

Depending on what job it is, Most of them only help in tobacco and if your cutting you get .12 cents a stick but when it come to setting, stipping and houseing it they get at least 6 dollars an hour.

#1-norm-fan 10-11-2014 09:00 PM

So what you're saying is you have a bunch of Mexicans working for you whom you pay less than minimum wage.

Blame Gertner he keeps pulling the race card.

Bad News Gertner 10-11-2014 10:26 PM

The Mexican that I employ as my butler makes $45,000 a year.

Perhaps you need to learn how to treat others with respect. Especially since you've shown me none.

FourFifty 10-11-2014 10:39 PM

Chris Jericho has terrible taste in friends :shifty:

You have never even met a Mexican quit lying

whiteyford 10-12-2014 09:23 AM

Is that US or Canuck dollars?

The MAC 10-12-2014 04:59 PM

Never liked Batista. nothing about him was appealing - land promo, rigid ringwork, dumb tats

Edge. Never got it. After the Edge and Christian shtick, never got the appeal. Wasn't super compelling on the mic, in the ring, didn't have a great look. Was maybe the top beneficiary of the brand split era in that he was booked as a top heel/face despite being neither.

Lock Jaw 10-13-2014 09:19 PM

Always felt that Christian was more talented than Edge, but Edge was the one who got all the big breaks....

Damian Rey 10-13-2014 09:35 PM

Agreed. Better on the mic, better in the ring, better music. Just the way the cookie crumbles.

XL 10-15-2014 05:34 PM

I never bought Edge as a legit main event guy.

Bad News Gertner 10-15-2014 06:43 PM

Christian is the Jannetty to Edge's HBK in every way

James Steele 10-15-2014 06:53 PM

I never got the love for Christian as a "top guy".

Damian Rey 10-15-2014 10:11 PM

Except that Christian is better than Edge and Marty. I don't think he should've been a top guy, but he had more than enough to be an upper mid card asset who could plug into the main event.

Batista is another guy. Great look. Mediocre at best elsewhere. Except dick Batista. That guys awesome.

Vastardikai 10-16-2014 05:28 PM

There is one reason why Edge reached that next level while Christian never did:

There was a major opportunity early in their WWF run where they needed to step up and deliver. Christian didn't. Edge did. And their careers went in the directions they did as a result.

If you're wondering, it was that one Brood promo..

Damian Rey 10-16-2014 08:52 PM

No clue about this promo.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2014 08:55 PM

Gangrel was supposed to be the star and he shit the bed majorly on that promo.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-16-2014 11:11 PM

Edge and Christian shined more than Gangrel fucked it up.

CSL 10-17-2014 07:33 AM

there is probably an argument to be made for Christian being better than Edge bell to bell work wise and he probably does goofy comedy a bit better. Edge is better in every other "department" however, especially in the important ones and that's why he was the star of the two.

No, Gangrel certainly fucked it up. He seemed really nervous and awkward, laughing at really inappropriate times.

Christian really didn't shine, either. Hayes put the mic in his face and when he could have said something to save the segment, didn't.

Hayes said something else, and was about to put the mic in front of Gangrel's face again when Edge walks over, grabs Hayes' arm, and delivers his piece. Wasn't a great promo, he'd certainly do better years later, but it was good enough to salvage a drowning segment.

If there was ever a moment when you speak up, it is then. In Foley's first book, he talked about a segment in Memphis where his partner was drowning and, despite being told not to talk, responded by saving the segment when Lance Russell put the mic in front of him.

Anybody Thrilla 10-19-2014 09:59 PM

Does anyone have a link to this promo?

Vastardikai 10-19-2014 11:17 PM

at one point I did, but it got taken down. All I could find was one where some smart marks were shitting on the whole thing.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-19-2014 11:37 PM

yeah same here V. lol such a bad promo. Edge definitely did the best he could lol but it was awful.

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2014 01:11 AM

The stuff that Gangrel was saying wasn't bad, but the way that he was saying it made him sound like a big dork.

#1-norm-fan 10-20-2014 01:37 AM

"In the darkness we seek a much different light. We live our collective lifestyles to who we are and what we believe in and the s-s-s-s-s-search of the mystery of life and the hereafter. And the power of what we seek. And it's within all of us. And we just have to unleash it. Hahahaha."

He was hitting Ultimate Warrior levels of "What the fuck is he talking about?" except he sounded about 1/8,000,000th as cool.

This comment is under review. Time to watch the clip.

Gangrel screwed it up. Edge grabbed the mic forcibly as if he wasn't supposed to and saved it.

#1-norm-fan 10-20-2014 01:41 AM

Really wanted Edge to say "Spike your hair" at 3:18.

At least even HE realized at the end that what he said was laughable.

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2014 01:48 AM

He was really just trying to say that their lifestyles were obviously different from normal people, and they saw what they thought was something similar in the Undertaker, so they reached out to him for guidance in how to deal with the difference. They later realized that the guidance that they were seeking was not anything special that the Undertaker had been doing for them, but it was within each of them the entire time, and they--

Yeah, what the fuck was he talking about?

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2014 01:51 AM

Ohhhh man, I am losing my shit over here thinking about this.

Probably gonna watch that promo like thirty more times. Thanks for bringing this up, guys. :y:

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2014 01:54 AM

Dude in the crowd had a Gangrel sign. He was probably all stoked when the Brood music hit....then that promo happened and he went to the merch booth and bought a Mideon t-shirt or something.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-20-2014 01:54 AM

Also it was on a Smackdown so they COULD have edited it. They chose not to.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-20-2014 01:58 AM

Did anybody get a GOB Bluth feeling with the strange way Gangrel said, Michael?

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2014 01:58 AM

Probably because they would have had to have aired a Mideon match in its place.

I got the feeling that he really thought that his punchline was going to land hard as fuck, but he hadn't taken into account the fact that he was a freakin' dweeb.

That was the first ever SD! and was a one-off experimental pilot, so it may have been live. Not for sure though.

The MAC 10-22-2014 09:36 AM

Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania was not the first big wrestling, weren't there starrcades and such that were daring crowds and shutting down highways.

slik 10-22-2014 09:49 AM
