Paranoid Rattlesnake 05-25-2004 11:26 AM

I will settle this once and for all

He actually says

Stained pants, A hurricane farts come through

Kane Knight 05-25-2004 12:20 PM

I only remember Holly's lines because I used to mock 'em.

DaveWadding 05-25-2004 12:41 PM

stay'ndaback! THERE'S A HURRICANE COMING THROUGH

but seriously, this is probably all the power of suggestion...

I made myself hear "stay'ndaback" so why couldn't others?

We're not as dum as you are.

Gone Mad 05-25-2004 12:46 PM

"Sandy's got back, there's a hurricane comin' thru!". I hear that and "stand back." It's funny how long this thread has gotten for that one lyric.

Kane Knight 05-25-2004 12:48 PM

Babybacks! There's a hurricane coming through!

It makes sense because nobody gets between Hurrican and his Chili's ribs...

Rock Bottom 05-25-2004 01:59 PM

He stressed the "D" sound. Not sure how many people know that The Hurricane has a speech impediment. What you're hearing is the vowel like sounds of just using the actual letter D. Sit there and just make the sound for a few minutes. It's gonna sound like "Da," which sounds like "the." Also, when he says "stand" the a is obviously as in apple. If he were to say "stay," he'd make it more obvious with the way he talks.

I don't get the entire point of this though, much less what makes you want to believe he says "Stay in the back" so badly. Perhaps you are retarded, insane, whatever the case may be, godspeed.

Azriel 05-25-2004 02:42 PM

It's directed to the wrestlers, for them to stay in the back, while the Hurricane does his jobber greatness

Rock Bottom 05-25-2004 03:09 PM

Someone should just ask him, he has a site and this would probably get an answer. :p

I sent him an e-mail and am anxiously awaiting his reposnse. I was very afan-boy and positive and mentioned no insider terms just in case he read it while Flair was nearby.

I would like to keep that blocked out of my memory thank you very much.

Corkscrewed 05-25-2004 05:01 PM

Savior, you're wrong. Just give it up and save what little dignity is left of yourself. ;)

But that'd mean my title is a liar....You do have to admit it does sound like that

Kane Knight 05-25-2004 05:57 PM

It SOUNDS like "Stand Back."

Hate to bump an old topic, but...

Farooq, when imitating Hurricane, at one point sexplicitly said "stand back--There's an ass whoppin' coming through."

So what Savior's been trying to tell us is that everyone--including a wrestler who was scripted to use the line--is wrong.

Nowhere Man 06-18-2004 02:13 AM

I was thinking about mentioning that, but I couldn't find an audio clip to back it up. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was Bradshaw who said it, because right after that, Faarooq looked around and went "......Damn!" and started using that for months.

But I'm nitpicking again. Your point still stands.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-18-2004 02:16 AM

I'm from NC (Raleigh) and have met Hurricane before he was a wrester (my grandmother actually baby sat him :o), I assure you he says stand back. It's just the (unfortunate) accent that most people in the state have. :(

Well, you know how those two look so much alike...

:shifty:

My friend is down in the area of Fayetteville (I don't know how to spell it) Even tho he's a native of Keene NH and a resident in a couple of place in Vermont, his accent is now starting to sound very much like the rest of the state. So you don't even have to be born there... ;)

HeartBreakMan2k 06-18-2004 02:29 AM

It's such a horrible accent, I hate it. I have a slight hint of it, but that's only started recently. I've got to get out of here for a while.

Kane Knight 06-18-2004 02:38 AM

Don't come to the Northeast.

The accents up there are horrible. I'm the only person in like a 50 mile radius who can pronounce a fucking R.

Nowhere Man 06-18-2004 02:39 AM

Pfffft. You're lucky. A NC accent is nowhere near as bad as an Alabama one.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-18-2004 02:40 AM

LOL. I'm one of the very few who can say words without the extra "er" on the end. :p

Kane Knight 06-18-2004 02:54 AM

er?

Sure ok

Lock Jaw 05-14-2011 04:12 PM

It is obvious "Stand Back". Even me, with my penchant for mishearing lyrics knows this.

Londoner 05-14-2011 04:21 PM

Well thanks for letting us know 7 years later, Lock Jaw.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-14-2011 04:32 PM

Thanks LJ. I now know what the stupidest thread in the wrestling forum has ever been.

Quite a feat to get that award too.

VSG 05-14-2011 05:00 PM

Now all that remains is to make sure Sheamus' theme talks about "Too many lies" and not "Too many limes".

DaVe 05-14-2011 07:46 PM

lol i remember this whole fiasco. good times.
