DD2 - I was just waiting for him to show up. All the other stuff was cool for me, but he stole the show in my opinion.

I'm on episode 6 atm.. brb with a halfway review.

So i'm 6 eps through. So far i like it a lot. Not love it. Just like it a lot. I think the story telling has been great, assuming it will culminate the way I think it will. The show has given us small samples of Frank going ape shit. Like EP 3 when he stormed the compound by himself. I love the writing with Frank and his " partners " wife and kids. I'm not expecting him to fuck his partners wife. I feel like he's trying to be the dad they've been missing for sure.

I think after 6 EP's, its obvious this shit is getting to a boiling point where Frank goes fucking ape shit.

Also, the cop chick ?? ( who is hot as fuck, love those fuck scenes. Very well done ). Is she Morenna Baccarin's sister? I cant tell for sure. Seemed like a similar last name, but i cant remember. Fuck me those parents much be sitting there thinking " Damn! We fucked good on the night we had them ! ".

This show is so well written.

Overall great. Already said this before, but before DD S2 I though that casting wasn't good. I mean, love Benrthal but he just didn't seem to fit the role in my opinion. Glad I was super wrong.

I'm kind of done with the rest of the universe. The Punisher works much better in a world without magic ninjas.

Aww man the ending was brutal and great

I like that he isn't exactly a lunatic beyond saving. He's at the edge, but still aware enough that he needs help. Don't even just mean mental help, but actual confidence and trust in people even when doing exactly that is pretty much always beyond his "better" judgment.

My only gripe about the series as a whole is just how goddamn lucky he is. There have been so many times Frank's been saved not by his own instincts or training, but because someone is a shitty shot or the right person happened to show up or happen to do something that works in his favor.

It would be one thing if he were a mutant with probability manipulation, but if he were, he'd be on the X-Men side of things and this show wouldn't exist.

Only beef I have with it is Russo's face isn't nearly as scarred as it should be. But I guess they're going a different route. He's so obsessed with his looks that those few scars make him ashamed of his face and he wears a mask.

I can see this running into a Jessica Jones type situation..... where the first season was so great and so personal, and the second is meh......

Based on some early reveals, that might be the case at least with this season's story. Supposedly the story is weaker than Season 1 but the action is closer in tone to the Punisher MAX comics.

Rewatching the first season at the mo, so everything is fresh for the new one.

Can't wait to see this! Punisher's one of my all-time favourite characters!

I'm 2 episodes into the new season, and I feel Castle should shoot the blonde chick; irritating as fuck.

Good season. Funny how everyone is stuck just dealing with how crazy Castle is.

Just finished it. Intense. It's not the same personal story as season 1, and they shoehorn Karen in in a way that's completely meaningless. Also, the John Pilgrim character is interesting enough, but he is kinda stifled in a season that's packed with all kinds of storylines.

They could've left the Russo stuff out and saved it for season 3. Or not. I dunno. I wasn't as in to the Billy stuff as I was with Castle being kind of a drifter and being drawn back into due to wanting to save the girl. That was a far better storyline for me. Though I did like the Russo stuff, the girl and her thread in the show was more intriguing for me.

The fight sequences in this season are fucking brutal. There's one in a rat hole gym that's just a fucking car wreck, and i loved it. Also, as good as most of the cast in these Netflix shows has been, Bernthal is easily my fave, even more than Cox as Murdock/Daredevil. I love his character and I hopewe somehow get a 3rd season out of this.

Finished the second season. I don't think it was as good as the first one, but still enjoyable. I would definitely like to see some more seasons, though that is unlikely.

Those things with Castle getting with the ladies... That was just terrible. Hs bed scenes in episode 1 were so cringeworthy.

I don't think Punisher is romance heavy.

It really shouldn't be. I agree that the early stuff was kinda whatever. I get why they went that direction but meh. It did lead us to that awesomebathroom fight scene so that was cool.

The Billy stuff was really anti climactic. They should've left him out completely. It took away from the more interesting John Pilgrim.

Bernthal is so over the top with the grunting. He keeps doing that, he's gonna be the next Batman.

I didn't mind it. In fact, I strangely liked how anticlimactic that part of it was... though I think it might have been more a metaphor for the show. If there were guaranteed non Disney meddling and keeping everything around on Netflix, he likely would have been built bigger.

I *still* have a problem with how lucky Frank is, though. I mean as in how much more luck and happenstance favors him than his actual badass military skill or tactical planning. It wasn't nearly as bad as season 1, but seriously.
