"24/7 Championship, because "Hardcore" has too many sexual connotations..."

R-Truth gimmick of getting things wrong is funny 2 me

Remembering when he cut a promo on Alexa Bliss a couple of months ago and kept calling her "Alexis Bliss"

I should've watched the show just to see this.

If it was before, I'd laugh if they still give him the Rollins match but have him actually cash-in on Kofi to potentially become Brocky 2 Belts.

I just watched the clips from the main page and the segment with R-Truth had me legit LOL when Roode opens the door to reveal that peevish ref waiting in the passenger seat and the look Roode's face when he realized what is happening LOL. Man that was good shit.

This is the ultimate ratings band aid. For a few weeks it forces people to stick around for a potentional cash in. Of course after 3 or 4 Raws people will stop believing it could happen, and they will go right back to losing viewers in the 3rd hour.

According to Fightful, official reason is WWE being desperate to find ways to freshen up and make RAW's 3rd hour more interesting to viewers.

Also confirms Foley implying that the new 24/7 belt would only be showcased on RAW as a 3rd hour exclusive was just a flub or misunderstanding.

You may have noticed that there were heavy changes to the look of WWE Raw in the third hour tonight. The lights were lowered, the Titantron and mats were darkened, and Mick Foley mentioned "Raw's third hour was getting more Raw," or something of that nature, which confusingly led some to believe the 24/7 title would be featured only in the third hour.

However, we're told that the comment was made more to set the stage in differentiating the third hour from the rest of the show, with a unique look. This will also apply to some of the graphics you see moving forward. More "Raw" was the buzzword that was presented to Fightful when we asked around about the changes.

One backstage source said this was another matter of the company throwing something at the wall and hoping it would stick.

The MAC 05-21-2019 01:20 AM

How can people still watch this horseshit

Droford 05-21-2019 01:38 AM

I was close on the new title being a wild card title.

he should wait til survivor series champion vs champion match and make it Winner Takes All(and yes I know SS champ vs champ is non title, but..wwe logic)

Damian Rey 2.0 05-21-2019 01:59 AM

God forbid they instead try for logical, thought out and planned long term stories, sensible booking and a focus on trying to highlight and elevate young talent.

Turning the lights down and changing the graphics instead will surely lead to higher viewership.

Title match doesn't mean he's cashing in. He's number one contender just by being Brock Lesnar.

Tom Guycott 05-21-2019 04:48 AM

Which chapter of the "4 Hour Work Year" is that?

he should take the title match, get counted out by destroying rollins like he did at WM but this time after the match actually starts and then officially cash in and win.

Its almost too brilliant and its never happened before so itd be *shocking*

Rammsteinmad 05-21-2019 08:57 AM

But what isn't brilliant, is the thought of another Brock Lesnar title run a month after the last one ended. :(

Evil Vito 05-21-2019 11:18 AM

I'll be honest - I don't hate the 24/7 title. Like it's a stupid idea, but I can't help but embrace the weirdness.

That said, nothing on the main roster feels like it matters anyway so that plays into it too. Sure, let everyone pad out their resumes with 24/7 title wins - who cares?

Sepholio 05-21-2019 11:47 AM

I would have had all them people all there brawling for the 24/7 title and then Braun just walks out and picks it up and no one dares approach him. For awhile that title would be his program. Just people constantly trying to come up with some way to take down Braun and him just mauling them like he did in the match with Zayn. Eventually he moves on to the Universal title but you can give someone else a decent rub by having them be the one to finally get that 24/7 belt off Braun.

How pissed are the refs who will have random wrestlers showing up at their houses on off days to drag them off somewhere to pin the 24/7 champ.

See if they had been smart they would have said that the owner of the belt after a certain date would gain a future title match of their choosing then I would be way more interested.

Imagine the fight that would go on of the last day for the opportunity to get whatever title match you wanted.

And if they were smart they would go challenge for the NXT title, win that, and stay down there.

But what do I know

It’s incredible how easily they botch everything they do.

If an audience like the one here didn’t get that they changed the aesthetic for the last hour to “land” the fact that the last 60 mins will be “more Raw”, or that the 24/7 Championship will be defended 24/7 but that the inception of it was kicking off the change to the last hour rather than only being defended in the last hour of Raw every week, then they’re doing something very wrong.

Whether that’s they’re not explaining things very well or that they’ve created a product that nobody pays full attention to is up for debate. (It’s both)

Vastardikai 05-21-2019 03:58 PM

I feel like, at some point, Nikolas it whatever that kid's name was, should win the 24/7 belt.

Next Raw, they do a career day segment from the school. Have a fireman, and a cop, and a few other people present. Have some heel come in and do a presentation. Nik is cool, as there is no ref. The heel covers him, the fireman reveals himself to be referee A.R. Brewer (who used to be a fireman) and the heel wins the title. Cop tries to pin him but to no avail.

rockman725 05-21-2019 04:12 PM

Crowd was ready to pop for "Hardcore" then....crickets. I don't even think Foley expected that reaction. Horrible decision. Maybe it wouldn't have been as bad if they had somebody else bring it out, but Foley was the WRONG person for this.

Evil Vito 05-21-2019 04:20 PM

I’m waiting for two guys to do an unauthorized 24/7 title switch over Twitter or Instagram or whatever and get into shit with the office over it.

“You’re making this title look worthless and cheap!”

I hope Brock beats Seth and then cashes in MITB against Kofi and we can end this damn roster split.
