NXT title match has been good soo far but nothing special as well. Their 2-out-of-3 falls at the last TakeOver was way more entertaining by this point.

Shayna goes down to a "freak injury" (translation - "We don't want to give someone the rub of beating her! Heels who never lose are money!"), Vacates the belt and goes up to the main roster. It's going to be so sweet watching her job to Carmella & Alicia Fox after that :love:

Main event was pretty great overall, especially once it kicked into the next gear.

Event itself was really good but wouldn't put it among the upper tier of TakeOver shows.

2 title matches, 2 downer endings with the sarcastic heel soundly beating down & embarrassing the underdog face.

North American and Women's title matches were not terrible but also not near the quality of those 3 matches.

Starting to watch this now.... Still hate everything about Matt Riddle's character and look and still think he should have turned heel, but he is freakin' sweet in the ring......

Strong/Riddle a great opener.... maybe Strong's best singles match I've seen. (I still don't think he really has a future as a singles guy, but he was great in this)

I genuinely don't understand folks who boo Johnny Gargano.

Watching the ladder match back. You can’t really get the sense of the lighting when you’re there in the arena but they did a great job of masking the fact that it’s really quite a small venue. Small enough that they took it out of their TV taping rotation 6-7 years ago.

Really enjoyed this show. Riddle / Strong would have main evented any other promotion in the world. Tag ladder exceeded my expectations. O'Reilly was the MVP. Dream / Breeze was good. I'm over Shayna Baszler and her having the same match at every Takeover. Cole/Gargano was insane and I marked out a bunch of times.

AEW Marks will be mad, but this Takeover was better than Double or Nothing, and $40 cheaper.

I don't know if this makes any sense to you this was a better show but AEW just felt really really good

Double or Nothing was great, but Takeover was just a more satisfying show to me overall.

They have had more time to build stories, I will reserve judgement until they start on TNT in the fall.

I'm in the opposite. Both were great shows but I'd give the edge to Double or Nothing for overall enjoyment.

Felt TakeOver's top 3 matches were more cohesive than DoN's Top 3 in terms of entertainment but Double or Nothing was better overall as a whole.

I would have had Cody/Dustin close the show if that gusher was planned.

Great match.... dreading the day when Velveteen Dream gets called up.....

Supposedly NXT used a different production setup for this show because of them not having access to WWE's main PPV event stuff and also currently experimenting with some new stuff for the brand and WWE itself.

This is why I feel the way I feel. I was already invested in the stories being told on NXT.

Women's match was good too.... Really like Shayna, but I am getting a bit tired of her reign.... appreciate that she is the one heel who actually gets booed though.....

Johnny Wrestling got boos at the last TakeOver event as well.

Was not expecting Johnny Gargano to lose on his first defense.... I admit while watching him in this match I was thinking that he is much better chasing the champ than actually being a champ.... (Though maybe if he actually had his moment at Mania vs. Ciampa I would have been more into him as champ)

Still not a huge fan of Adam Cole... wow, the Panama Sunrise move looks like s***..... I think he will make a good champ as the "head of a heel stable" type.... (even though the NXT fans will cheer him).....

I'd give match of the night once again to Velveteen Dream

"Broddy" was the match of the night.

Technically Johnny is still a tweener, just cause he tricked Tomasso and attacked him wasn't a full face turn.

Lol, Gargano is a face. People are just getting sick of the sad-faced sap gimmick. He probably needs to go somewhere else and freshen himself up a bit. I imagine he might have lost the NXT Title to go to the main roster.

This is my thinking too. He and Ciampa were both up for a week despite the fact that they were scheduled to headline Takeover New York. Then Ciampa got hurt and Hunter was able to convince Vince to leave Gargano down for a couple of more months to pay off his title chase.

Like everyone else, he'll become "just another guy" pretty quickly. That said I'd be down to get a Gargano/Bryan match at some point.

I liked the rapping over the UE theme, made Cole’s entrance different given we’d already had the music twice by that point.

Gargano/Bryan would be pretty good. I'd be for Gargano beating Bryan, Bryan seeing the light, and then Bryan turning face to go against a heel Roman Reigns. You know, in Fantasyland.
