He was a lot better in NJPW mainly because they gave him the time and spotlight to shine. Hasn't gotten the same treatment in NXT due to how bloated the roster is and lack of quality time to spread around until tonight.

Such a good idea! Fans who respect the talent! They don’t look small compared to the rest of the show!

Not yet but Triple H recently hinted its likely getting merged into NXT at some point in the future.

They haven't said yet, but Triple H said Cruiserweight stuff will be "under the NXT umbrella"

It's prob not gonna be taped after SmackDown once it moves to Fridays... would make the most sense to air it after NXT at Full Sail on Wednesdays if they're gonna keep it imo

GD 09-18-2019 09:40 PM

Wow! Lio Rush wins.

Triple A 09-18-2019 09:41 PM

Nice...

Emperor Smeat 09-18-2019 09:42 PM

Rush vs. Lorcan was very good.

Rush vs. Gulak for the Cruiser title should be great when it happens.

Triple A 09-18-2019 09:45 PM

NXT has a lot of good wrestlers... forgot... Was kinda wishing that they didn't do the two hour live shit but now kinda glad! Might be a good show!

PANDEMONIUM

Emperor Smeat 09-18-2019 09:50 PM

A street fight breaking out during the middle of a Street Fight match was pretty cool.

GD 09-18-2019 09:50 PM

Going out with a brawl...

Triple A 09-18-2019 09:51 PM

Is it over... weird

GD 09-18-2019 09:52 PM

How odd of them to end the show early.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-18-2019 09:53 PM

What was that stupid ass ending

Emperor Smeat 09-18-2019 09:53 PM

Brawl was great but that ending sucked.

NXT itself was pretty great overall. Pretty much was two extra stuffed episodes of NXT in one.

Droford 09-18-2019 09:56 PM

Network died on me lol

I can watch clash of champions for 4 hours no problem but an hour if NXT is too much apparently

Supreme Olajuwon 09-18-2019 10:00 PM

That ending was so god damn stupid.

Rest of the show was great.

Io Shirai for Universal Champion.

Emperor Smeat 09-18-2019 11:24 PM

Seems someone in NXT production messed up big time since tonight's show wasn't meant to end the way it did.

Regal did come out and announce the Winner or Riddle vs Dain next week on USA will get a title shot against Adam Cole, not sure if that aired either based on what people are telling me
— Jacob Cohen (@MrJacobCohen) September 19, 2019

Mr. Nerfect 09-18-2019 11:39 PM

Matt Riddle for NXT Champion.

Jordan 09-18-2019 11:56 PM

Just watching now. Good opening match. Slik ducked out because of Mauro but I like Mauro even if he does say some ridiculous shit. "LIKE A JINGA TOWER COLLAPSING!".

I think La Rae is a great choice to dethrone Shayna.

Jordan 09-19-2019 12:05 AM

Someone put some clothes on Cameron Grimes. Gross.

Mr. Nerfect 09-19-2019 12:59 AM

Got a feeling that Candice is going to beat Shayna, Shayna moves to Raw or SmackDown and then Candice and Io have a Ladder Match at Takeover in Chicago. The main event will either be a War Games or, hopefully, Adam Cole defending against Matt Riddle (not that interested in Killian Dain). Riddle, Dream, Gargano & Ciampa as a babyface team going against Undisputed Era would be pretty epic.

Jordan 09-19-2019 10:40 AM

I really enjoyed the two hour NXT, great show!

Jordan 09-19-2019 10:43 AM

Lorcan and Rush was a really good match. I loved both of them. They would have been so good in WCW cruiser.

Mr. Nerfect 09-19-2019 11:01 AM

I love Meltzer, but my god, he’s comparing Velveteen Dream to Miz. As if the “Meltz is on the take” conspiracy needed fumes. I think the show has made WWE critics nervous. Don’t Omega and Moxley infamously throw shit punches and he shrugs it off?

I’m feeling an NXT win, overall. This is the boutique brand and it will get freedom and that eliminates any edge AEW had, because none of the people in power have any experience calling shots, and very few even know what it is like to perform in arenas regularly.

We will see! I think NXT has so much going for it. The roster is every bit as good as AEW. The only thing is that AEW has is some real star power with Jericho and The Executives. Also having the announce team they have with JR Tony and Excalibur will make the show stand out a lot. But we will see.

After last night, realizing that NXT could easily be the best show on TV again is very likely.

Jordan 09-19-2019 11:19 AM

Walter is on NXT on USA. It's awesome. Walter is going to be a huge fucking star.

Jordan 09-19-2019 11:20 AM

I know we will one day see Walter vs Brock Lesnar. It has to happen. And Walter vs Joe. And also while we are at it Walter vs Roman and Walter vs Braun. And Walter vs AJ.

slik 09-19-2019 01:30 PM

I will prob give NXT another chance but mute it next time so I don't have to listen to Mauro spazzing out

Doubt it and mainly because WALTER supposedly doesn't like being away from his home and training school for long stretches of time. I'd be surprised if he shows up again any time soon in NXT after his upcoming match with KUSHIDA.

Just to get him signed to NXT UK, his contract included terms where he can walk away at any time with no BS time added and can reject working at events if it causes him any scheduling or traveling issues.

Emperor Smeat 09-19-2019 04:23 PM

According to Showbuzz Daily, NXT's debut on USA Network did around 1.17 million for viewers.

#4 for the night in terms of demo rankings

AEW already BTFO by this.

Kenny Omega says NXT people would be in dark matches in AEW lol

Yeah Kenny cause all the bookers are needs who only book themselves to win.

Can't WAIT for AEW to fold in a year thanks to these "Elites" mark attitudes

Emperor Smeat 09-19-2019 09:33 PM

AEW folding would be the worst thing to happen since WWE would lose a lot of motivation to keep trying to improve their product.

Already seen that happen when WCW folded and when Impact failed miserably in the brief Monday Night Wars II.

AEW just existing managed to cause WWE to start paying their wrestlers better than before and gave the extra spark needed for serious changes to be made to try to improve RAW and Smackdown.

Evil Vito 09-19-2019 09:39 PM

It’s fine to not like AEW’s product and not feel compelled to watch but anyone rooting for them to fold is a selfish cunt.

Naw, I want them to fold. They have been nothing but pricks. They don't deserve the opportunity they have been given, and are full of themselves at peak Ultimate Warrior levels.

Kenny Omega being disrespectful to a guy like Roderick Strong, who busted his ass building the Indy scene while Kenny was crying about mean Bill Demott, has the stones to say NXT is all developmental wrestlers. He just comes off as a prick.

It's not even like it's the first time he has run his mouth, feels pretty insecure to me.

Mr. Nerfect 09-20-2019 01:35 AM

Lol, did Kenny really say that? My god. Yeah, that Chuck Taylor really outshines fucking WALTER.

Mr. Nerfect 09-20-2019 01:39 AM

Io Shirai warming up for Riho is pretty funny.

This is where wekkly live is bad cause he could have come over fora couple days, taped 2 months of shows (a couple matches) for the leadup to a big takeover match and then come back in 2 months for that.

They'd almost be better of sending people to UK and taping matches with him to air on NXT as to not piss him off with the travel

XL 09-20-2019 05:40 AM

They could always send Kushida to NXT UK to continue the angle and recap it on NXT and then hold a match in the US.

lol Kenny is friends with a large portion of the NXT roster. Both sides probably having a nice laugh at the jabs they're sending one another on Twitter.

Can't imagine anybody who isn't mentally feeble thinking there's any actual beef.

 That's some next level Creature_of_the_Night shit right there.

Simmer down..Omega is just having fun with it

Jordan 09-20-2019 10:22 AM

Kenny should probably be a heel. There is some less cool about him in AEW for sure. I think the anime god gimmick he had in Japan just don't translate to big time player here. Them booking him to lose didn't help either, not that I have a big problem with it so long as they have a good arch planned.

Malfeitor 09-20-2019 08:23 PM

Rod got worked. Haha.

At best it’s a bad promo. It’s like when Jericho cut the promo on someone calling them old, and the old guy said “Don’t call me shit, because when I beat you — and I will beat you — you’ll look like an even bigger piece of shit.”

Omega may or may not be “jabbing.” It’s a poor sense of humor and he’s in the wrestling business and an EVP for the company. He should act better. It’s also a statement that pushes me more firmly behind NXT, because fuck that guy.

And yeah, AEW would take basically everyone in NXT if they could. It’s a nice way to draw attention to that by saying that they wouldn’t. He’s such a fucking idiot. The thought process he invites for you is “Oh! Shots fired! Hang on, he’s joking. He loves the NXT guys. NXT is awesome. I’m going to watch NXT.” He actually just promo’d the shit out of them, and I’m sure that wasn’t his intention.

There’s going to be a big problem with Omega and The Bucks in their roles.

So the company that is inclusive uses troll bullying psychology to promote their opposition? Guys in the Attitude era didn’t flat-out bury the competition because they knew what it would do.

Something interesting about this “war” is that there are lots of wrestlers with smashed brains on social media.

Kenny Omega booked a child molester in a dark match the last time he ran a show.

Mr. Nerfect 09-21-2019 08:46 PM

Something I noticed re: NXT vs. AEW. For all the talk around AEW being inclusive, which I support as far as catering to additional needs fans and looking for good wrestlers that come from a large number of backgrounds, NXT introduced 11 women wrestlers on their show. That’s as many women as recorded on the AEW roster page.

There were wrestlers from 5 different continents and 11 different countries. Mia Yim has Korean heritage and Sean Maluta and Vanessa Borne are Samoan. Everyone in AEW is from the UK, Canada, Japan, South Africa or Mexico. Nyla Rose is Native American. This is one show from NXT up against an entire company. And the expectation is that WWE would beat you over the head with that stuff for the good PR. But Triple H has kept his gloating to a minimum.

I’ve found myself rooting for NXT. I lost interest when it became clear that everyone I invest in there is going to be irrelevant on the main roster. I couldn’t care about Asuka in NXT because I knew she would be WWE’d. That’s changed. At least for now. I can care about Io Shirai because they may not send her to Raw or SmackDown.

Triple H. Fuck. I can’t believe I’m saying this, because I’ve called bullshit on a lot of the “he’s going to save wrestling” myths. But he’s doing everything right so far. The stuff on top as well as the stuff on bottom. AEW were “full gearing” up to parody main roster WWE, but they’re getting pro-wrestling and now Omega’s salty. He didn’t want to go against good wrestling — that isn’t what he signed up for.

GD 09-21-2019 08:58 PM

Noid is NXT

Mr. Nerfect 09-21-2019 10:46 PM

Haha, honestly I am. I was so hyped for AEW, but I’ve gone so cold on them. I think what I am most anxious about re: NXT is whether it does become a destination, or if that is taken away from it when it succeeds. I’m naively optimistic about NXT affecting how Raw and SmackDown look, and others possibly being given autonomy. Like, imagine a Raw that is properly run by Heyman so Vince can do his football stuff on Monday because Triple H has proven that things that deviate from that set format can work.

xrodmuc316 09-22-2019 02:04 AM

NXT > AEW, and that won't change no matter how many times AEW guys try to say otherwise.

Jordan 09-22-2019 12:16 PM

I'm super excite for AEW but I have more real faith in NXT. I think there are less things about NXT that I dislike than AEW already. But there could be more things in AEW that I like than NXT, yet to be seen because the show hasn't started.

Mr. Nerfect 09-23-2019 01:19 AM

I just don't get how you can have two completely different philosophies being enacted on the same show. Cody is trying to do NWA/WCW and The Bucks and Omega are trying to do PWG.
