Pat Macafee should be full time announcer.

Supreme Olajuwon 11-01-2019 09:48 PM

2nd commercial break in the match, both times Phillips goes to break by shouting NXT Title on the line! Hate it so much. Why can’t they just be like hey guys we’ve gotta take a break we’ll be right back. Hope they all get murdered by a Saudi prince.

GD 11-01-2019 09:51 PM

Did he just throw Cole on his neck?

Evil Vito 11-01-2019 09:55 PM

Holy shit, Cole wins clean

GD 11-01-2019 09:56 PM

NXT just annihilated Smackdown on Fox

GD 11-01-2019 09:57 PM

Pat McAfee was fun

Triple A 11-01-2019 09:58 PM

Who is that, "Raul Mendoza"

GD 11-01-2019 09:58 PM

Yep!

Evil Vito 11-01-2019 09:59 PM

I really hate this brand warfare shit. Seeing The Undisputed Era in the ring with Ciampa like some sort of NXT loyalty trumps their issues is lame as hell.

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2019 10:02 PM

Bit surprised Cole beat Bryan cleanly. Match itself was very good overall.

Tonight's episode was also very good overall considering the circumstances and SD being completely fed to NXT.

Also should be interesting if NXT's involvement tonight leads to better ratings than 2 weeks ago or if SD still keeps sliding downwards. Same for if tonight's show helps boost NXT's ratings next week since WWE has been growing desperate to beat AEW or if it still goes down since that would mean nothing will fix it as long as WWE's stink lingers around it.

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2019 10:03 PM

 205 Live starts with a potentially hyped up crowd and now 1-2 minutes into it, crowd is deflated.

slik 11-01-2019 10:09 PM

While I really loved SD I could see ratings being 'really bad' via casuals not giving 'a shit' about NXT people

Worst is them always doing the typical "one brand completely dominates other brand" trope for these types of shows and no brand looking as great going into Survivor Series itself. Maybe even worse this year considering NXT's status as a "minor" brand despite what Triple H says.

Like its already guaranteed SD is going to destroy NXT at one of their shows which goes against the whole appeal of NXT and its lack of main roster stink and booking.

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2019 10:15 PM

This Isaiah Scott vs. Ariya Daivari match has been really dull soo far.

205 Live pretty much either starts off with a very good to great match or a big stinker. Almost no in between ever happens.

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2019 10:17 PM

Guess NXT is also at war with 205 Live since Tom Phillips mentioned NXT's win streak tonight despite Scott wrestling before on 205 Live.

What time did WWE make the announcement about NXT people going to SD?

The flight alone would be about 3 hours and I think all of NXT's talent was in Florida for a house show the night before.

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2019 10:47 PM

Lio Rush vs Raul Mendoza was decent at best. Pretty boring episode of 205 Live this week. Started off very weak and never really recovered in the end.

Still think it was a mistake to have Lio as the new champ instead of Oney given the choices a few weeks ago.

Volare 11-02-2019 11:01 AM

Just watched Cole vs Bryan...I don't give a damn, McAfee was hilarious. Phenomenal match, and I have a sliver of hope that we will get more "dream" setups.

I thought the same thing, till I rewatched the ending, Ciampa was looking right at the belt and nothing else. At least 1 gets it.

I was totally wrong btw, ratings went up from 2.44 two weeks ago to 2.55

That’s the “let’s see how they get out of this” bump.

Mr. Nerfect 11-02-2019 07:36 PM

Is it though? Do most people know or care about that stuff? I'm pretty ardent, but I only knew that they got stranded via the fallout from the SmackDown results. I mean, it may have helped some people feeling that it might be a more interesting show, I suppose, but I think it's probably more coincidence than anything.

Mr. Nerfect 11-02-2019 07:38 PM

I hope the NXT stuff hooks some people. It's got that "Nexus" vibe. Including Papa H and Shawn Michaels is probably a good move. I kind of hate them all being friends, but in the sense that it's a league trying to establish dominance I guess I can buy it more than I usually do the Raw vs. SmackDown stuff. Hopefully they have the sense to let feuding people carry that over and maybe even have them verbally express their disgust at some of their allies. Ciampa could "thank" Cole for beating Bryan so it means all the more when he kicks his ass, for example.

I mean it’s anecdotal but read the comments on YouTube for anything related to the show and you’ll find plenty of “first time I’ve watched the whole show this year” type comments. I’m not saying it’s casuals or brand new fans that saw the news and thought “this could be interesting”, it’s more likely that the bump is from fans that would normally DVR and watch later actually tuning in live.

Or, of course, there was a big chunk of fans that saw Crown Jewel and thought “I gotta watch me some more of that!!”.

In my opinion one is more likely than the other.

I have to admit that it was the first time I’ve watched Smackdown live in a long time just to see how they would react to people getting stuck behind in Saudi.
