YANKEES: OWNED
9 Runs in one inning
WOW |
Looking at the standing, the Sox aren't outta the wild card race at all surprisingly
New York has pulled away in the AL East by 8 games but in another division Yankees would be up atleast 6 games up too so its not as bad as I thought |
the Yankees/Red Sox game from Thursday night was one of the best games of all time. From start to finish it was awesome. The Yanks and Sox never dissapoint :y:
I think we're gonna start turning it around now. Anyone's better than D-Blowe and at least he's not starting for another 5 days.
And the Sox rule at Fenway so it's good we have a homestand now. These next few series with the A's and Angels are HUGE. So CoE, were you rooting for the Yankees when they got SWEPT (Loose Cannon :naughty: ) by the Mets? |
Also
Why isn't anyone talking about Ortiz for MVP? If anyone deserves it, it's him. |
Quote:
Nah, I wanted them to lose as revenge for the Red Sox, and I got my wish. |
So you are a Sox fan now, eh?
Join the nation
Well my hometown Astros got there asses handed to them today. I dont like them but still I feel they should of done better. They lost like 18-3 and allowed the Rangers to hit two grand slams off them. It was one crazy ass kicking.

Yeah, I'm a Sox fan. The Yankees are evil. |
You, sir, are the man
lol, what are you doing COE? You just signed yourself to a contract of heartbreaking Octobers buddy. Good luck with that :)
I love how the Braves decide to win while EVERYONE IN THEIR DIVISION DECIDES TO WIN
3.5 games man....3.5 |

Not that we have the Champion of Europa completely on our side, I feel that THIS is indeed the year. |
What the fuck happened to Lowe today? LOL, I'm not a hater of the RedSox or anything, but I just found myself laughing at that game today.

Yeah, well, at least with the Sox I have people who put the O lowercase in my initaled name. |
Swept by the Mets. Pretty rough weekend.
Thats gotta be real good news for the Red Sox, three straight from the Yankee's, take advantage of it you pussies.
Quote:
And yes I do realize the Sox are like 6 games back in the division. |
Anytime the Yankees are swept it helps the Red Sox. If they didn't get swept the Red Sox would be further back. I was simply stating the obvious.

Johan Santana for Cy Young
GOOD JOB, GIANTS BULLPEN.
Jason Schmidt had a 1 hit semi-gem going into the 8th inning. The bullpen then went ahead and allowed 7 runs in the following two innings, denying Schmidt the win he deserved. FUCK  |

Red Sox just dropped 11 runs on Oakland...Hopefully the bats are waking up
What the hell is wrong with Barry Zito?
Whats going on, the Yankee's seem to be losing a lot lately? They're down 8-3 to Detroit right now, Detroit is cool.
Yeah, the Yankees are struggling with their pitching. None of their starting pitchers have been really reliable lately.
Has anyone heard about this rumored trade?
Oakland gets: Michael Cuddyer 3B/2B Grant Balfour RP prospects Minnesota gets: Barry Zito SP |
NOOOOOOOOOOO, Don't break up The Big Three. They Rule. Zito has really dropped though. But, in Zito's defense, it seems like every good game he pitches, the A's don't give him run support and he ends of losing. It's happened like the past 2 yrs.
I haven't heard that, but watching SportsCenter today I was thinking to myself "Why don't the Twins look at Zito, considering we need a new SP." I never thought anything would actually happen though, knowing the Twins.
Looking at that trade, the first thing that comes to mind is that it doesn't seem like Oakland would be getting a lot, considering how good Zito had been in the past. Cuddyer is an all around solid player, the Twins biggest prospect a few years ago. Now he can play most positions on the field and hits well, but he won't be an all star I reckon. Balfour can throw pretty hard and in time I could see him being a real good RP. Maybe theres other prospects involved. I think that would be a good trade for the Twins though (Obviously), unless Zito was just a huge huge choke, which I don't think he would be. I think that if he stays on Oakland he will break out and be good by the playoffs. Anyway. |
Nomar hit his 3rd season homer, things are picking up a little bit.
*Knocks on wood* |
HAHAHAHAHA
*looks at current scores* Braves win 14 to 2 Mets beating Phils 10 to 000000000 Florida lost to Pitts 4 to 3 1.5 guys, 1.5 (go braves) |
Yeah I'm hoping we stay hot.
Andruw 4-4, 2 homeruns, 5 ribbies. Maybe we should start rumors about other guys getting traded. Also JD Drew not being an all star is total BS. |
JDL**
That was so witty.
btw how are the diamondbacks doing this year? |
Not as good as Minnesota I'll bet theyll win the world series
Minnesota has one too many world series titles.
Red Sox DESTROYED the A's. Fantastic. Damon is really awesome. |
Whats all that supposed to mean?
That triple play, how slow was that guy going to first? Honestly you should be able to walk that.

Pedro looked pretty solid last night too, only had one tough inning where he gave up the 3 and always looked one step ahead as always. |
FK'N Yanks. What are they losing unpurpose to let the Sox play catch up a little. :naughty:
That's the one, psh, Tigers!
Well Cleveland just got shitted on
  My god, you see that shot by A-ROD today.
Yeah, that was pretty huge.
Yet another come from behind victory for the Yanks:D
Boy did Kenny Rogers get knocked around tonight? Didn't even make it through the 2nd! |
How about those BoSox today?
How about those A's raping the Indians
CC :(
CHarles Thomas whatttttup |
Red Sox win another one
Hopefully they get this shit going threw and til the end of the season I never noticed how young Texas's infield is...pretty ridiculous |
Well we get Cubs/Cards in the UK tonight, usually a good matchup, Kerry Wood on the mound, not seen him in ages so should be cool
Kerry's just back from injury, so dont expect anything spectacular.
Yeah i know but i've literally not seen him pitch for a few years so its cool to see him on the mound again.
*sends a broom to every Tampa fan*
:D |
Its getting annoying when Johan Santana lets in two runs right away and is lights out the rest of the game, but the Twins can't put in even one run.
Barry Zito was a victim of that today, he let in 2 (of 4) over 7 and the A's could only muster a run, he's 4-7 now :-\
I hope the Miz is the man and Zito is actually coming to the Twins, but that hasn't been discussed yet and the Twins are probably going to get Miguel Batista, and I have no problem in that!
Win win really, Zito's gonna start winning eventually
Yeah, I don't think it would be smart to trade Zito at all
BRAVES ARE 1 BACKKKKK

Never thought they would be 1 back. :$ |

BTW I've heard trade rumors for Andruw Jones. I wonder if the braves would do it. |
I assume the only thing holding the Braves back from trying to dish Jones would be if it would mess up the team chemistry, because his hitting is no reason to keep him around.
With that said, I have to root for the Braves in this situation, because I can relate to their situation. Like the Braves, my track team had a great winning tradition, six straight True Team State Championships going into this year. This year we obviously weren't the best team in the state anymore, and it showed early in the season, but as the season went on everybody stepped it up and pulled it together because of the great tradition of our team, and we ended up getting 2nd place by 4 points, and if you know True Team scoring that is VERY close. That is exactly what the Braves guys are doing right now, they know they aren't the once dominant Braves, but they are no pushover, and the tradition in their organization is getting their players to play better than they normally would, and because of that I am rooting for them. |
God ESPN pisses me off. We don't want to see Cubs/Cardinals, Cubs/Astros, or Astrors/Reds every week assholes.
We want to see the Twins/Royals damnit
Man KC suck so much this year, especially considering how much they'd been tipped to be in the running

Good to see Contreras pitching a great game against the Tigers, 4 decent starters and maybe Jon Lieber sorting himself out looks promising for the post season
And how about them Twins going down to KC tut tut :p
Kevin Brown played a minor league game though and only lasted two innings, I think he gave up like 6 runs. So he isn't really reliable.
The Twins will take the AL Central, the White Sox don't have the makeup of a team that can continue winning.
how come?
They have a great offense that just got it's best player back and they have 3 great starters. The Twins only have Santana (of the most underated pitchers in the league though) and an anemic offense. |

Frank Thomas is pretty much out for the season, they have bad defense, and they don't have chemistry. Radke is terribly underrated aswell, he has a great ERA but no run support.
Its not going to be a run away either way, but I think the Twins will still take it in the final week because of experience and chemistry. Shannon Stewart is now back, so now for the first time in months we have a solid 1-5 in the batting order. (Shannon, Guzman, Mauer, Lew, Hunter). Then add a fifth starter and bring back Mike Ryan, we will be right back in there. Joe Mays will be back in a month for long relief and Jesse Crain will come up when he is ok too. Once things flatten out we will be a lot better than we were in the first half, which is why I don't think Chicago will run away with it at all |
Barry Zito finally won again last night, only gave up 1 run over 7, the A's will have the best rotation going i reckon
The typical A's post All-Star Break run
According to TBS, White Sox got Carl Everett for two relievers, i forget the names but one of them was 6'11"
The Sox got Carl Everett back? Thats a mistake.
Jon Rauch?
yeah
If you guys have never herad of a kid from Oakland named Bobby Crosby, watch for him.

Everett sucks, he is no better than Matthew LeCroy and LeCroy sucks. He missed most of the first half, but in that time he was hitting 250. He isn't the kind of guy who generates a lot of runs and he doesn't have the winning experience.
Yeah Ordonez was injured most of the first half, but so was Shannon Stewart and Joe Mauer. We haven't had a fifth starter all year, Terry Mulholland has been starting, in a few weeks we are guaranteed to have either Kris Benson or Miguel Batista because of our ample farm system. Oh, no we just lost a series to the Royals...seasons over...Even though three of our starters didn't play and our DH is just coming back from the 60 day DL...That series meant absolutely nothing because we didn't lose any ground while playing our Triple A team. What makes the Twins good is not having the best players, last year the White Sox had better players than the Twins, but they have absolutely no chemistry. Adding Everett is the last guy they need, he did shit for them last season and will do shit for them this season. They need to go out and get a Kenny Lofton or Ray Durham type guy back, so they have someone for Konerko to drive in. You can think the White Sox are a great team. You can tell me that they have better players than the Twins and I would probably agree with you. When it comes down to chemistry and knowing how to win big games, the Twins have the advantage and that is why we will take the division again. |

On a different team though |
somebody will probably be pissed, but I think the A's would be smart to move to Portland
