OH MAN BENNET HAD THAT

AareDub 01-10-2004 11:29 PM

NOOO!! HE DROPPED IT!!

Guest #1 01-10-2004 11:51 PM

Well, despite all the naysaying, Sat. pretty much went down as I predicted...
OK, just dumb luck on my part, that and I didn't have money on any of the games. I am supreme when nothin's on the line ;)

Y2Ant 01-11-2004 12:09 AM

Titans :'(

That FG hit the crossbar, almost missed :@

WHOOOOOOOO @ Rams though, wish I had caught the game :(

VonErich Lives 01-11-2004 12:12 AM

Great game... and a Pats win as a Bonus!

As for STL... They should fire Martz for being a Stupid, Arogant, Prick...

Never should have let the clock run and kicked the field goal.

The guy runs and offense that everyone knows and doesn't change his game plan because "I'm Mike Martz, no one can stop me".

What a Putz, atleats Vermiel kept him on a leash.

road doggy dogg 01-11-2004 12:24 AM

Holy shit, that Rams/Panthers game was IMMENSE. Awesome, awesome game.

Titans/Pats was all right, Titans took a lot of really dumb penalties on their last drive. They could've easily at least tied the game.

They were 2nd and 3, then got an intentional grounding and a holding. So instead of 2nd and 3 they were 3rd and 23. :|

Dammit I hope Indy wins tomorrow. KC would have no shot going into New England!

VonErich Lives 01-11-2004 12:55 AM

I don't think either KC or Indy has a shot in NE...

Weather and crowd aside.

Both teams can't stop the Run, both teams have trouble with the passing game, both teams rely 90% on offense. (Dungy is a great Defensive coach, but he still doesn't have the personel he needs).

I see Belicheck shutting down or slowing either offense, while Wies picks apart the defense, especially with the recent re-emergnce of A. Smith, but that also depends on how banged up he is... he was limping a lot at the end.

Agreed. Though I'm hoping tomorrow's games will be as exciting as Rams/Panthers.

Damn Rams

:D

#1-norm-fan 01-11-2004 01:02 AM

Indy has a better shot at beating New England than most people thought Carolina had at beating St. Louis. Especially if Indy can go into KC and win tomorrow, that will show me alot.

Its not like New England has much of a running game. KC has been exposed by pretty good backs, not Antwan Smith and Kevin Faulk.

Portis - 17 for 68, 4yds/carry

Plummer - 3 for 18, 6yds/carry

The Colts win had nothing or very little to do with the defense... It was the offense... The Denver defense simply layed down... wrong schemes (a Saftey 1 on 1 with Harrison) or Blown coverage or guys simply beat... When a team puts up 31points in a half, the other team can't run... they have to pass, and Jake the Snake was more of a garden snake then a cobra.

anyway, just wanted to add that.

Yes, Clinton did average 5.5yds/carry in 2003... but giving up 68 yds on only 17 carries for a 4yd averag isn't a shutdown... especially when Griffin torched you when he got his hands on the ball a few times.

KC has been exposed by all running games... actually by almost every offense... KC wins shoot-outs... for KC to beat NE, they'd need to crack NE's defense and win a shootout, I just don't see that happening.

As for Smith, nope... he's not the best back, Smith has gotten the job done the last few games, which is smash mouth and control the clock. Plus he didn't play a lot during most of the season, so he's actually pretty fresh (although he was limping today) and Faulk, most of his yards will be off screens and such, which will give KC fits.

We'll see next week, but unless one of those teams pull a big rabbit out of their hat, I can't see either beating NE.

#1-norm-fan 01-11-2004 05:54 AM

Yeah. KC has NO chance of beating NE if they win tomorrow. And it's not like one of those games where you say they have "no chance" and then end up pulling off the huge upset. They have NO CHANCE.

Indy on the other hand is 7-1 on the road this year. They've played NE already this year in a game that came down to a couple Bethel Johnson returns and then just 1 yard in the end. They won't let Johnson go crazy again. Indy has a definate chance. Now I'm just interested in seeing how well they perform tomorrow.

I also want to see the weather, there saying it could be another freezing one next weekend... If that's the case, a dome team... balls gonna feel a lot different...

AareDub 01-11-2004 09:40 AM

I'm not concerned about who can or can't beat NE next week. I say there is NO CHANCE of a KC win today. You guys can mock me later if I'm wrong, but if I had money I'd bet it against the Chiefs. It's not that I even think Indy is that great or anything, but IMO the Chiefs don't even deserve to be where they are.

The Colts are my Lock of the Week, Shoe in of the Week, and whatever else I can say that means they are going to win for sure. They can worry about NE after they put away KC today.

Hate to break it to ya, it's not that big of a reach... almost everyone is picking them... Heck the line is down to 3...

I still think KC pulls it out, but should be a good game either way.

Kris P Lettus 01-11-2004 04:27 PM

It'll be Colts Vs. whoever wins Philly/GB in the Super Bowl...

LoDownM 01-11-2004 04:28 PM

Remember when the Chiefs made the playoffs atleast. Atleast KC got more then a TD and a FG. Unlike another team the Colts played.

Loose Cannon 01-11-2004 04:29 PM

Well another Great Playoff game. Being a Jets fan, I wanted the Chiefs to pull it out, but whatever. I can't wait for the Pats-Colts however.

Bring on Green Bay-Philly.

Y2Ant 01-11-2004 04:30 PM

Remember when both of my teams beat the chiefs

Loose Cannon 01-11-2004 04:33 PM

I'm Going for Philly all the way. I hate any team that plays in Boston, so the only North East Coast team left is Philly.

The Icon of Elisim 01-11-2004 04:41 PM

I don't want to see the Colts make it to the super bowl because it would be boring on account of them blowing out the NFC team.

The Icon of Elisim 01-11-2004 04:43 PM

Anyone else getting tired of the Brett Favre stuff?

I mean hes playing great but I am getting tired of all the comments about his dad watching him from heaven and all that depressing crap.

VonErich Lives 01-11-2004 04:48 PM

Philly should win this...

GB got lucky last week..

I like GB, I feel sorry for Brett, but I gotta look at the teams, players, stats...

If you want to base it on stats, players, teams and what not, then it should be GB all the way. If you call it on stats then check the stats for the monday night game between the two of them. GB had that game, they just blew it at the end. If you call it on players you have to take into consideration that the Eagles are missing a couple of key players due to injuries. If you call it on teams its been made very obvious that the Eagles are far from flawless at home.

For some reason people haven't given the Packers the credit they deserved this season until recently. The sad thing is that they don't credit the team, they credit it to Favre's father passing away.

It was a nice change of pace to watch Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN this morning and hear almost a solid hour talking about how GB should win this game. The only one that really seemed to doubt them heavily was Micheal Irving.

Ahman Green is going to tear the Eagles apart today. He had no problem running on them before and he won't have any problem doing it today.

The Packers didn't just get lucky last week, the Seahawks were the lucky ones. GB should've embarrased Seattle just like they did in the regular season.

AareDub 01-11-2004 05:17 PM

oh btw...

TOUCHDOWN PACKERS!!!!
