seriously, that was about as PERFECT as you could of booked that

asphyXy 02-21-2005 11:16 PM

Even though that was predictable as all hell, Batista's turn was awesome.

I'm glad Evolution is done. Now Batista and Flair could move on to better things. But what are they going to do with Flair now?

This was one of the best endings of raw ive seen in a long time. Took you back to the glory days

Sepholio 02-21-2005 11:21 PM

I have never marked out so hard in my entire life. Thumbs down from Batista is the greatest peice of story creative has come up with in the last year for all I care. For once I don't feel like they are insulting my intelligence.

As for the rest of the night, here are my impressions:

Hassan impressed me for once, he may not have the best skills, but his attitude, demeanor, and look are PERFECT. He has incredible heat, and given time, I think he will get better in-ring. When he does get better, if he still has this gimmick, he will be an amazing entertainer.

   @ Christy owning Trish. Also, good job on Trish's makeup, cake every part of her face with make-up yet leave the black eye visible completely the entire time. God she looked so fake tonight.

finally, finally, FINALLY Snitsky -vs- Kane seems to be over. I hope it stays that way. Also, I marked out like a little kid when Benjamin whacked Sntitsky with the chair, it looked and sounded brutal. Loved his attitude the whole way through. I sense a heel turn for him coming, and I hope it leads to a feud between him and Batista. RATINGS BABY.

Chris Masters has the best physique I've seen in a while. I don't think he botched the part where he busted richards nose either, I think that was scripted to make him come off as even more powerful than he already looks. However I hate that they are going to give him the super push, which is already apparent. But I had a funny feeling about it....For some reason I see Masters -vs- Lesnar sometime this year, and Lesnar will be forced to job to him to make up for his past behavior.

HBK -vs- Angle. No doubt this will be the match of the night come April 3rd.

E&C REUNION. MARK OUT MOMENT AGAIN! I used to really hate christian, but in all honesty, he is a god amongst men in the WWE, and I see a VERY bright future for him.

Overall, tonight delivered the goods. 3 HUGE mark out moments for me, and they didn't botch anything as far as I'm concerned as far as storylines go. HOPEFULLY THEY KEEP THIS UP NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND.

8/10

V 02-21-2005 11:21 PM

lol all of us are 12 year olds again

PullMyFinger 02-21-2005 11:21 PM

I agree. For once....Raw actually did something decent. The ending of tonights show was one of the best booked shit I've witnessed in the longest time. Now that I've seen this face turn...it makes Orton's face turn look 10,000x's worse than it did already . What the FUCK were they thinking at that time?!!??

CosaNostra 02-21-2005 11:23 PM

To me, that turn was the culmination of a longed for, excrutiatingly delayed cumshot. And Triple H was the wank.

PullMyFinger 02-21-2005 11:24 PM

I hope there is a heel turn for Benjamin...cuz he's way too boring. He reminds me of Rocky Maivia's IC title run. This super babyface that I just can't stand. Charlie Haas is great though. Maybe if Shelton's head didn't like so much like Tweety Bird's...I might be able to stand him more.

V 02-21-2005 11:24 PM

okay guys, if splaya or someone doesn't upload it, i'll upload Batista's Turn, from when Triple H shuts up to the end, once RAw Repeats.. it'll be about 2 hours and 25 minutes from this post.. i think.

Volchok 02-21-2005 11:28 PM

that was the best raw i have seen in a damn long time.. maybe the writers are gonne get off there ass's and book some good things... hopefully we can have a Edge Vs. Christian match at WM.. that would be pretty sweet since there not doing anything...

V 02-21-2005 11:28 PM

when i post the vid i expect rep for staying up an extra hour for you guys!

Bazooka 02-21-2005 11:28 PM

Couldn't watch it cause I had martial arts, and when it was over I had probably half an hour to watch RAW but didn't but reading the spoilers I might just watch it.

So, sounds like another awesome moment and Innovator was there to witness it all live. Never really liked Orton, and always thought Batista deserved a big push before him, and now he gets it.

BTW, did E&C really reunite or was it just a one time tag match or promo...?

Corkscrewed 02-21-2005 11:29 PM

Dude, I totally was like !!!!!!!! at the chair shot, even though I saw it coming before the match even started.

That was cool.

BatistaBomb 02-21-2005 11:31 PM

all i can say about batista is
IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME

PullMyFinger 02-21-2005 11:33 PM

haha...ha.

asphyXy 02-21-2005 11:33 PM

If they connected with the Conchairto, this would've been the best Raw of the millenium.

The Naitch 02-21-2005 11:49 PM

it wasn't a great RAW, maybe because it was predictable.

Loose Cannon 02-21-2005 11:54 PM

I've been watching wrestling for almost 20 years and that will go down as a momwnt I'll always remember.

REMEMBER: BUILDUP IS A GOOD THING.

RGWhat316 02-22-2005 12:01 AM

I gotta go with the majority here and say that ending was just f'n awesome. I usually tape RAW as it is, but this is a moment to be remembered. The thumbs down really did it in for me, I should've expected that. BATISTA!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing, he could damn well be the biggest star not just in 2005, but beyond.

Some more good moments occured as well. The official start of HBK/Angle which I am already looking forward to at WM, even Shelton's chair shot was pretty sick.

The Road to WrestleMania is ON!

Shaggy 02-22-2005 12:22 AM

I think something that would of been great is if they would of had an offscreen shot away from Batista and he would of switched the contracts....then it shows him signing the smackdown board and when Trips goes to shake his hand he slams him through the table. Then Batista picks up the board and shows that it was really the raw contract. Or if he would of signed with smackdown he could just slam Trips for further set up for a match later on.

Im not saying it was a good ending but there was a ton of ways that could of gone. Of course everyone knew that Trips did the whole limo thing. And I think everyone expected Trips to get put through a table the minute they saw it....

On another note...

I think it would of been good to turn Orton heel tonight. Sure he is a great face that everyone loves but with the talked about Orton Vs Taker at Mania coming up it would of been good if at the end Orton would of made that big mark that HBK was talking about by RKOing him and giving Edge and Christian the win...but maybe that is just me thinking because im a big Edge and Christian mark.

On a bit of a down side, did anyone else laugh when JR called HBK's modified backdrop an "Olympic Slam?" All Shawn did was wrap his arm around Christian's left leg instead of around the waist for the back suplex and JR calls it an Olympic Slam.

In fairness, it was prolly their intent to be an Olympic Slam, to hype the shit up.

Michaels is Old, feeble, and sad. HE probably couldn't lift a housecat for an Olympic Slam.

Probably someone who couldn't announce at all, judging by their choice in announcers/interviewers in the WWE. Almost certainly his hair would be frosted, and he'd only be about as good at calling the right moves as Ray Charles...

Still, it's gotta happen at some point anyway. JR won't live forever./

clip of raw's ending is coming guys.. i'll make a new thread once youslowit uploads it

road doggy dogg 02-22-2005 02:10 AM

Damn Raw was hottttttttt tonight. Batista + E&C = deliciousness

Drakul 02-22-2005 02:12 AM

the powerbomb through the table is up on wwe.com

Innovator 02-22-2005 02:14 AM

I guess the WWE heard Innovator was going to RAW, had to break out one of the best RAWs I've seen in a while.

BTW, words don't do justice to the last 5 minutes of RAW live.

#1-norm-fan 02-22-2005 04:02 AM

LK 02-22-2005 06:44 AM

The whole ending was just perfection. Batista's the man.

Also lol at Flair during the contract signing.

SuperSlim 02-22-2005 07:44 AM

Raw was a lot better than it usually is. Seein Victoria made my night. :D

then there was E&C again. Too bad they missed the con-chair-to(sp?)

Then the whole Batista thing with that massive powerbomb through the table. And the thumbs down.

There was also Shelton finally comin out of his shell and doin somethin that got people watchin him and the IC title.

Also Christy Hemme. In the back. Ya know when they yanked her back. Yeah.

But overall it was an above average Raw.

Azriel 02-22-2005 08:10 AM

That was awesomeness personified. That was one of the best face turns EVER!!! Total mark out baby. Now, if only Smackdown would do something lie that

Normal Is Me 02-22-2005 08:45 AM

I did not much care for the ending. It was EXTREMELY predictable and dull. Other people seemed to MARK THE FUCK OUT, so maybe it is just me being cynical.

I just did not really care for it. Maybe it is the fact I have yet to see Batista put on a great match. Maybe it is the fact that Triple H will have the belt in 5 months anyways.

I predict Batista's popularity peaked at last nights RAW, and that it is all downhill from here. I do not believe the match at Wrestle Mania 21 will be spectacular and I believe the build-up in the coming weeks before Mania will be poor.

Loose Cannon 02-22-2005 10:16 AM

1 Day Later and I'm still marking out

Azriel 02-22-2005 10:19 AM

I tell you, when he did the thumbs up, I was marking out like crazy. I was like saying "DO IT BATISTA! DO IT!" and he did. Ah, sweet release.

Loose Cannon 02-22-2005 10:27 AM

I don't understand why people watch wrestling, ESPECIALLY WWE, when there looking for things NOT to be predictable. Almost all of wrestling is. And when things are not predicatable, fans just turn on it or they screw it up anyway.

**SEE WCW 2000.

Savio 02-22-2005 10:35 AM

It was fine it could have been better raw next week should be good.

Azriel 02-22-2005 10:58 AM

about Orton/Taker. I think going into the match it might be a face/face deal, but I think at th end Orton will turn heel

Innovator 02-22-2005 12:17 PM

Funniest thing of the night, besides my friends during the girl match, was my friend's reaction to Hussan:

Before interview: "Dude I've never seen anything like this (referring to the heat he was getting)"

During interview: "Wait why are people booing him? he's got a point"

Azriel 02-22-2005 12:56 PM

Johnny Vegas 02-22-2005 01:34 PM

Yo, i missed the E&C segment/match...the Batista/Evolution ending was tight as hell...but what happened to E&C? I keep reading "E&C reunion was f'n awesome" and "E&C was great!" What happened with E&C?

Innovator 02-22-2005 01:36 PM

Freakin marks around me not wanting to start a con-chair-to chant. At least I saw the E & C reunion

He has a point. Like Eminem, he has a point that is mired in his own whining. Let's face it, the Hussan character is basically saying "Fuck you for treating me bad!" Then, "OMG, WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME?"

Fox 02-22-2005 02:48 PM

Batista is the man.

That is all.

Gone Mad 02-22-2005 03:09 PM

Best. Ending. Ever. HHH looked like he was killed during the powerbomb, but man, was it sweet.

I don't like Chris Masters. If he is the masterpiece, then that artist is blind.

I am also happy that E and C did split up. I can't watch them tag anymore because I see those two as individuals now, especially **pats chest** Capitan Charisma!

And  for an appearance of Vicky. To quote my boy Capt. Charisma: "..... I love you."

Azriel 02-22-2005 03:21 PM

Where were your seats Innovator?

The Naitch 02-22-2005 04:07 PM

The Chris Masters thing was the biggest letdown. There was no need to see the Randy Orton pose and sparkles two times in one night. Terrible.

The Naitch 02-22-2005 04:08 PM

And Maria is terrible too.

addy2hotty 02-22-2005 05:13 PM

Well, I've been very much the anti-WWE fan of recent weeks, but the 2nd hour of Raw was reasonable. Batista's face turn - obvious, but Trip's openly admitting it? Not what I expected, could have done that a bit better. Surely Dave's powerbomb/table shot was up there with the best? I sat there thinking - 'wow, what if he's actually injured from that?'.

You did almost feel that the rest of the show was just a lot of cobbled together matches. If they are going to dig out E&C's conchairto, then why not give Mr. Concussion one? Would have worked well for the storyline (that is now apparently forgotten). What was the point in Jericho - Simon Dean? Almost a house show match. have they really got nothing for Y2J to do? Stick him on SD for gawds sake.
Kane's match, even more pointless. Tomko on the mic? As he said (and looks like trying to build a career out of) - No.

Wonder if Master's is going to join Evolution. As a type of hitman for Triple H leading to 'Mania. Might be interesting.

Hassan v Benoit. Don't think much of Hassan except his finisher, be interesting next week though.

6/10 overall.

The camera that swings/moves when the wrestlers walk down the ramp was right in front of me. The camera guy had joysticks and shit to move it. Anyways I got a thumbs up and a wave from King before and after the show. The seat were pretty kick ass for 40 bucks.

I agree on this.

Masters was a waste. Though it gave us a chance to see Richards on Raw...:shifty:

seriously, you have King jerking off over his looks, too, and it's insane. You've got a guy who is supposed to be a "masterpiece" and yet he looks like his face was hit by a truck. And I swear...It looked like he was CHEWIng GUM.

So far, his persona looks like nothing more than they nicked traits from Orton and The "Reflection of Perfection." You know, if they weren't current wrestlers (Though RoP isn't the current gimmick), this might be okay, but it's overused.

I thought it was built up great, and the payoff was excellent, but I dont think it was 'that' good.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but I'll really mark out when I see the landscape of the WWE 8 months from now. Until then, its just another angle that keeps Hunter in the top mix.

Loose Cannon 02-22-2005 08:47 PM

yea, that hit me today and I'm sort of coming back to reality. Like today I was seeing next weeks Raw in my head and I'm seeing Hunter beating down Batista and leaving him laying to end the show. And that's just....god that would suck.

But I'll never forget the "Thumbs Down" from Batista. From a writing standpoint, everything came full circle with that. What goes around comes around and it sure did. Genious.

Definately on my 50 Greatest Raw moments list

Am I the only one who marked out when Shawn Michaels used his old Slingshot Back Suplex? :'(

The CyNick 02-23-2005 07:39 PM

It wouldn't be the worst idea to have Hunter, Flair and some other guys (say Hunter hires some big dudes like Vis) and have them try to injure Batista.

Keep him off TV for a week, and have Hunter claim that Batista wont be at Mania, because he took him out. Of course Batista comes out and in the weeks leading to Mania he gets revenge on all the guys who were in on the beating. Except Hunter of course, who he leaves for Mania. Hunter would keep running away from Batista every week.

My thinking is that they need to make people want to see Batista kick the shit out of Hunter again.

But they have to be careful not to repeat the mistakes they made with Orton, having Batista get beat up or outsmarted every week.

One of the great things about this angle was that Batista never once looked like a dumbass. He was always one step ahead of Hunter. Hence the reason people are behind him.

Hired Hitman 02-23-2005 07:42 PM
