Heaven just got a new main-eventer.

KingofOldSchool 11-13-2005 12:22 PM

Not just Chavo will be majorly affected...think about Benoit and Malenko...and Jericho. Although Jericho is technically not with the company anymore, they still had a lot together.

NoRoolz 11-13-2005 12:25 PM

Thanks for everything Eddie, R.I.P.

Cool King 11-13-2005 12:26 PM

But if Eddie was suppose to win the Title from Batista. (Because Batista is injured) I think they'll give it to Benoit now, just as a mark of respect and because Benoit is Eddie's best friend.

I'm shocked too. I don't know what to say. I've never really felt this way for a wrestler's death. He was pretty much the only reason I would watch any of smackdown for the last 2 years. RIP

KingofOldSchool 11-13-2005 12:26 PM

Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't they find Brian Pillman dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis?

Yeah, that would be an excellent tribute. End the show with Benoit in the ring, holding the title above his head in a final goodbye to Eddie. Maybe even let him cut a shoot promo after (or before) the match about Eddie.

I think if they WERE going to, then in my honest opinion, history of the belt or not, they should retire the it, and bring back the old WWF/E title belt.

A fitting tribute, a low rider with the belt and his name-plaque on it on the drivers seat.

KingofOldSchool 11-13-2005 12:28 PM

If I'm right...then this just makes it even worse.

He and Batista were the only two that has made Smackdown for me.

For the last few years Eddie has been my favorite performer.

I just hope for his family's sake, that this was due to his past...not current self.

Thriller 11-13-2005 12:30 PM

RIP Eddie
The fact that the fans would still cheer you as a heel was a true testament that you were loved by all that you performed for.

I truly hope WWE does a tribute show on both shows because i truley doubt that they can fit it everything in one 2 hour show.I really hope that he gets inducted into the hall of fame as well as maybe throw in a few extra excerpts in his upcoming book

ST. PETER: Ah, Eduardo. I wasn't expecting you for some time.

EDDIE: Me either. :'(

ST. PETER: Before you can enter the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven, you must answer me this question... Have you lived an honest life, abstaining from sin, dedicated to helping others?

EDDIE: Yes.

ST. PETER: Very well, then.

Benoit should pin Orton with the Frog Splash to win the belt...

CharismaInjection 11-13-2005 12:36 PM

This is not fair. Its just not. Eddie was the best WWE wrestler of all time.

RIP Eddie.

I wonder how they can do SD tonight after this.

This is true, but you can bet that they're having this same conversation in Stamford. Tragic as Eddie's death is, the show must go on. He would have wanted it that way.

My point was not over who wins it, but about a tribute to him at the end of the show.

If they have any title matches this week, then the WWE should burn in hell.

Yes, but this thread shouldn't be about the title situation now.

This should be strictly about Eddie's death.

If they want to discuss it, make another topic.

Fuck Kerwin White.

Chavo needs to honour his uncle's memory and tell WWE to shove thst gimmick up their ass.

I'm in dissbeief. I just logged on and saw the story on the main page, and my heart just sunk like 2 feet. He was one of my favourite superstars ever, thank you for all the memories and fun you've given me. You were quite some talent.

Farewell Eddie. R.I.P :wavesad:

Shadow 11-13-2005 12:42 PM

Wll KOOS...how would you pay tribute to Eddie?

Stickman 11-13-2005 12:43 PM

So I'm sitting at my computer mauling over the news and my dad came and sat down. I pointed to the screen and his jaw dropped. He said that Eddie was in a good storyline with Batista and was wondering what he died of. He immediately thought it was the steriods. I told him it could have been all the hard drugs he used to do. He pointed out that he is just a character and people die everyday but it is very unfortunate when anybody passes. Especially somebody who's on TV every week. I thought I'd share that.

But when its somebody that you follow every week for years, someone you get behind and support. Someone's who's 'characters' life you believe in, and can emphisise with. I come from the fucking UK for godssake, and still remember beaming for several days when he won the title.

Eddie Guerrero was more than a character, he was someone in which MILLIONS of people found inspiration in, for lots of reasons. For his comeback from drug related problems to reach the TOP of his profession. For the fact, he lost his family, won them back through hard work, pain and suffering.

Much of his character I believed in, as it was close to his real life difficulties. The fact that he had self-confidence issues when champion is somethign I very much related to.

Yeah, it's sad when anyone dies, but hell, when its someone you respect and care for, it's a lot harder.

Eddie was a big part of the title situation, that's why it's being brought up. YEs it's awful but seriously, the world doesn't stop when one person dies. A lot of the time of death people bring up really stupid things. The only personal thing 99% of people on these boards know about Eddie is that he's a Championship WWE Wrestler, so that's what will be discussed. That is one way some people will cope. This thread should not involve bashing anybody else's opinion and how they want to deal with this loss

Crashnburn 11-13-2005 12:52 PM

I just got a call from a friend who broke the news to me....

I was honestly speechless. See, I've fallen out of watching wrestling (I haven't watched in over a month), so I haven't been hitting the wrestling message boards, news sites, or WWE.com like I use to. Wrestling just is not exciting to me anymore. But there was one guy out of WWE's entire line up that I could count on for a good match and that was Eddie Guerrero. No B.S. That's the way I've thought of him for many years now. I was so freaking estatic when he won the title and like many others have already said Benoit and Eddie standing in middle of the ring at WM20 is my favorite memory of the last few years of wrestling.

Thank you for the memories, Eddie. You will be missed.

So if the WWE decides to only do a ten bell salute at the top of the show and then get down to regular storylines, it's okay because it's their way of "coping?"

"We do know that Eddie was in Minneapolis, MN waiting for the RAW and SmackDown! tapings which are being held tonight. Eddie was just 38 years old. According to sources, Eddie had breakfast this morning with Chavo Guerrero and at least one other wrestler. Chavo and Eddie had traveled together for months when both were on SmackDown!. Eddie then returned to his hotel room and when he didn't come back out when he was scheduled, some friends went looking for him and found him dead. We have no other details and do not want to speculate."

Calm down. Maybe a bad choice of wording, but forgive me for not being eloquant at this time. My point was, Chris is Eddie's best friend, so they may do it as a gesture to Eddie, as the whole show(s) are about him. Wasn't meant negatively as all, as I miss Eddie big time. I was just trying to put across that they may do something along those lines seeing as how it's seemingly wrestling protocol to do something like that as a tribute to him.

Still trying to get over how much this sucks, and, although it won't bring him back, I only hope that it wasn't his demons that beat him, so that Eddie's story can at least end with that victory.

I was over my friends house when I got a text from my other friend who said Eddie was dead, I was devastated, I just said to my friend I had to go and rushed back home to see if it was true.

RIP.

This is absolutely unreal, I watched the WWE Experience this morning and marked out when Eddie got Ken Kennedy disqualified, it was classic Guerrero. He truly was one of the greats, and I'm not just saying that because he's dead. This wrestling death has hit me harder than any other, I will miss him so much.

imagine this was a result of Kennedy's chairshot, had he hit him too hard or something.

This is really sad. He was one of the greatest wrestlers ever. He seemed like such a great guy too. Boourns to this :(

I wouldn't be surprised if Kennedy is thinking the same thing. But it's no one's fault, that is what the wrestling industry is, and Eddie was a true proffessional.
