Too bad about Edgar, I liked him.

And I always wanted to see him get together with Chloe. You know... in the "that's just not right" and "nobody wants to see that" way.

But that's what's great about the show, they don't shy away from killing main characters (unless your nameis Jack Bauer). Other shows you know everyone is going to be alright.

Pinnacle Charisma 03-08-2006 12:10 AM

The internet has been flooded with rumours of my boy Tony dying since season 4 finished.

It dosnt make sense for the writers to kill off Tony when they have so much material for him regarding Michelle's death etc. But I will cry like a little girl in he does pass away

LOL, remember when Kiefer Sutherland's character told Elisha Cuthbert's character that he didn't tell her he was alive 'cause he was trying to protect her? And she didn't believe him until Mary-Lynn Rajskub's character told her that Dennis Haysbert and Reiko Aylesworth's characters died and Carlos Bernard's character was in medical because they knew that Kiefer's character was alive?

CharismaInjection 03-10-2006 07:18 AM

I just want to say this:

If they kill (highlight)Tony is one of the worst things the producers could do. s/he has got a huge fan base, and killing them off would not only affect the show, but it's ratings as well. The show needs to keep some veterans, how often can you say out of the people you worked with three years ago, you're the only one still alive.

I know the producers like to say they can kill off whoever they like, but eventually this will affect the show. I've heared rumors that the ratings went down once Palmer and Michelle were killed....just rumors though.

McDoogle 03-10-2006 10:27 AM

I don't think it matters that much though because this is the last season anyways. So even if they kill off all the main characters it wont make a difference unless they make a movie.

wwe2222 03-10-2006 11:56 AM

where did you read its the last season? I hadnt heard that

CharismaInjection 03-10-2006 01:29 PM

I actually heared that both Season 5 and Season 6 were both commisioned together at the end of Season 4.

I really doubt this is the last series.

Splaya 03-10-2006 01:43 PM

To clear up some rumors....

the person that is rumored to die this week is not Tony, but it is in fact Lynn Mcgill. IMDB confirms this as they have him listed as working the next 4 hours of the show and this is Lynn's last episode. So don't expect Tony to die.

Also, when it comes to the seasons, it was heavily rumored that even though Fox signed it for 2 more seasons, they would pull another one over us and end the series this season. This is not the case as there is Season 6 to go, and now the heavily rumored movie is going to take place, they just dont know when it's going to happen.

CharismaInjection 03-11-2006 06:21 PM

Speaking of Tony, just found a funny story.

Apparently Carlos Bernard and Mia Kershner (Tony and Mandy) felt like playing a prank on the producers last year.

MT: Any one prank stand out as being a really good one?

CB: We were shooting up in Valencia I think, somewhere north of LA, and I got to work with the actress who plays Mandy (Mia Kirshner). She comes up to me in the morning and says “ I feel mischievous today”, and I say,
“Really?” and she says,
“Yeah,”
“Ok, do you want to play a practical joke on someone?” I ask her, and she says yes.

So I call the police over who are blocking off the street for us and I ask them if they would be willing to play a practical joke on our director, and they say “Yeah, Sure”. I tell them that right around 3:45 p.m., I want them to come up on set where we are shooting by this garage and arrest her for buying drugs in the parking lot. So when they arrest her, I am going to start arguing and I want them to arrest me, too. Well, the whole day was basically scenes between she and I so basically production is screwed if we get arrested. I mean that would cost thousands and thousands of dollars! So, anyhow, right on cue at 3:45, he walks in with his partner goes up to her after the cameras are cut and pulls her aside and says, “Can I talk to you ma’am?”

“Yeah.”

“Our undercover officer told us that you bought some marijuana from him?”

And he starts cuffing her saying “I need to place you under arrest”. Suddenly everybody is like what is going on here. Nobody knew except for myself her, and I told Kiefer because he was in the scene as well. Now all of a sudden John Cassar comes flying over and is like “uh, uh, uh….”

Right before this happened, three producers showed up on set and they are never there. They never come, and it was just perfect, they show up and they don’t know anything about it. They start talking to the cops. And I come over there shoulder and say “What’s going on?”

The officer says, “This lady had admitted to buying marijuana in the parking lot, and we are placing her under arrest.”

And I go “For that? She got arrested for that? This is all you have got to do with your time is arrest little girls for buying marijuana in the parking lot?”

They say “Sir you better step back right now, and the producers start pushing me back, “let us handle this.”

I say “F**k this, you’re screwed, you are going to tell me that you are arresting this girl for buying pot and this is where our tax dollars are going?”

“Sir you better step back right now or I am going to place you under arrest.”

I’m like, “Screw you! You’re an asshole!” (laughs) And we started shouting back and forth, and five guys are pulling me back. Including Cassar, and the place in like, nobody knows what the hell is going on, one producer is on the phone calling back to the studio like “uh we have big problems.” And then finally I tied to pull a camera out and take a picture of John Cassar. And he saw the camera and was like “You, you a**hole” (laughs).

Anyhow, it was really great because after that everybody was in a great mood and joking around. The cops had done such a great job, everybody was like giving them t-shirts and hats, and they were sort of like baptizing them into the group. It was a lot of fun.

http://www.fivestarreviews.com/Review.aspx?ReviewId=997

I wish I worked on 24, seems like fun.

-----------------------------------------------------

Of course, when the media heared this story, they thought it would be more interesting if it was less funny, more cruel with a really unrealistic version of events.

http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3477524

I'm guessing ^^^^^^^^ this one is a lie.

Loose Cannon 03-13-2006 09:59 PM

Splaya 03-13-2006 10:08 PM

According to IMDB, Tony is still appearing in the next 3 episodes of 24 (those are the only 3 they have listed until then.) So I'm guessing he will still live.

24 was the shit tonight. Hands down. I felt bad for Lynn, I felt bad for that guard. When Henderson opened his eyes and sat up, I screamed. Literally screamed. Man, 24 is the tits :)

Dragon 03-13-2006 10:13 PM

Wow, was hoping Tony wouldn't be killed off so soon.

Who do you think will be let go when the Homeland Security people come? The guy said he was changing some personnel. Not that many main characters left at CTU and I'm guessing some people will be gone next week.

Lock Jaw 03-13-2006 10:22 PM

Chloe is probably gonna be replaced but then they'll realize that they're screwed and need her and bring her back yet again.

As for Tony, I'm willing to bet he pulls through. Just wanted to make it seem that he died as a cliffhanger.

McLegend 03-14-2006 12:10 AM

Holy shit that hour was so intense.

McDoogle 03-14-2006 10:29 AM

7:59 P.M.
Jack enters the clinic and finds Tony and Burke on the ground. Gasping his last breath of life, Tony tells Jack that he couldn’t do it. Jack clutches Tony’s head. Tony dies, and Jack cries with him still in his arms.

I dunno, im pretty sure he's dead.

Innovator 03-14-2006 10:59 AM

I wish Tony got a bigger death scene and wasn't lumped into the two episodes where half of CTU dies. He had been there since season 1.

McDoogle 03-14-2006 11:04 AM

He was killed by Robocop...trust me, that's the best death you can ever get.

CharismaInjection 03-14-2006 11:43 AM

Well that was fucking stupid. 24 producers can expect at least 35% of their ratings to go down. I was not just watching the show for Jack Bauer, I was watching it for the other characters as well. Tony was a great character and the producers will regret this one.

CharismaInjection 03-14-2006 12:01 PM

Ok here's what to do guys:

Tony may be dead, but it is possible to bring him back to life, if someone makes a huge petition, and they can say he's back in a coma.

wwe2222 03-14-2006 12:34 PM

another solid episode...I was sad to see Lynn die now, even though he was partly responsible for what happened at CTU.

I dont think Tony is dead yet, not sure if he will last the season, but I dont think he is dead yet.

CharismaInjection 03-14-2006 12:56 PM

He's dead.

Fox.com confirmed it:

http://www.fox.com/24/profiles/ta.htm

Deceased...

McLegend 03-14-2006 12:56 PM

Thats hot

wwe2222 03-14-2006 02:28 PM

well...there goes that theory

I love how they are willing to kill anyone off, but they should be careful not to kill too many people off..they are getting a little close to that

Boondock Saint 03-14-2006 03:30 PM

Just watched it. Hot damn, great stuff. Lynn and Tony. Shit Tony was the man. NO ONE IS SAFE THIS SEASON. Friggin' Robocop.

Friggin Homeland Security gonna fuck things up.

With Tony dead and Kim basically telling Jack to goto hell, it seems as if Jack is on the brink of finally losing it.

And my man DESMOND from Lost was on. Apparently he's gonna be on for the next few eps. Now if he would show up on Lost again...

Yea, I was thinking that too. How many times are we going to have some higher-up come in and take control so that Jack has to defy authority.

"Audrey, I need Chloe to decrypt this thing."
"Uhh, Jack... Chloe was sent home"
"Damnit!"
"Mrs new chick in charge wants you to come back to CTU and BLAH BLAH BLAH"
"This is our only chance of finding the assasin/bomb/virus/etc"

RoXer 03-15-2006 05:28 PM

I wonder if Desmond will have that killer accent like in Lost.

I hope so.

RoXer 03-15-2006 05:29 PM

That was an awesome episode. RIP Tony, and he deserved a silent clock but nevermind.

Next episode better not be gay and boring.

NeanderCarl 03-15-2006 10:11 PM

Just because the Fox website says Almeida is "Deceased", doesn't mean he definitely is. Maybe they're trying to work us so the next episode is surprising, and to boost ratings (although by the general reaction to Monday's show, they may have done the opposite)

MVP 03-16-2006 01:17 AM

God I hope Tony swerves the fans and comes back.

If it wasnt for the internet most fans would still be unsure if Tony was still alive or not.

I think the fact that Tony didnt get the slient clock might be a clue to the fact that he is still alive.

I'll believe it when I see it... no disrespect to you CharismaInjection, nor to the site itself, but it just seemed TOO lame a way to kill off a major character, and so much more fuss was made over that fat rat Edgar the week before. Seems fishy.

I found this post on the IMDB boards (give me a break, I'm bored). Anyway it starts off bitchy, but I was rofl by the end of it. Oh, and something he didn't mention, "I programmed the memory card to self destruct!." WTF? Y'know, that hidden line of code you can put on a memory card that makes flames come out!

Quote:

Originally Posted by some guy from IMDB boards

First off, Tony dies. We see him in the last seconds last week blanking out, opening seconds this week, they are already covering the body, Jack is recovered from his grief, things are "honky-dory" again. And this is after Tony got injected with whatever was in that interrogator's kit. Which, you got to wonder, what exactly would that guy have that could kill you so quickly, even if in a weakened state?

Also, you can release names of people who died if it is in-house. The govt does not release names of people killed in action to the public till after next of kin have been notified. Telling over people in the govt, for the purpose of filling skill-sets, is alright.

Homeland Security comes strolling in and there is immediate "drama" because they are making waves and going to basically take over. And then they totally set things up for "I'm the boss, what do you mean Jack Bauer is not doing what I say?" moments.

Chloe just kicks things off with her 'tude and then for WHATEVER reason, has to give up her access card. If this guy is so high level, why does he need CHLOE'S card??? What the hell did he put the card in, anyways? Nice touch with the whole "Hey, I'll use Edgar's desk, he won't be needing it anymore."

The VP is pushing to have martial law declared. FINALLY, someone in the administration realizes "Hey, the terrorists are sneaking around LA. Maybe we should stop people from sneaking around. That might help." And of course, who has a problem with it? Martha Logan. What position was she elected to? Oh, that's right, SHE WASN'T! And then Faux-Nixon immediately takes an affront when people question the legality of his executive order. No s### sherlock, remember how you guys discussed this in the previous two hours? Why is it such a surprise that people would say this?

Palmer's brother (out of the blue) calls up the secret service guy, who is still on the job even with a massive next wound. (Man that guy kicks ass.) And for whatever reason, brother's got his personal number. And by the way, don't worry, the cops are not going to pull over a black man driving a fancy car. That would never happen in Los Angeles.

Jack and company find the Bavarian beauty's room. (She's 5'9", I would so break me off a piece of that.) No one is home, the window is open... she must have gone to the roof! Yeah, we totally snuck in, no reason to suspect. So get up to the roof, poke around, and for some reason this guy jumps off a roof to take down Curtis. WTF? Why? How is it people just happen to be so ready to lay in ambush for people all over the place this season, you know? It's like, if you are going to ambush someone, and you are doing it alone, you will succeed. But if you have a group of people, you will fail. Oh yeah, Desmond (for you Lost fans) is a German agent. WTF?!

So, Jack has to deal with someone, negotiate, come to an agreement. Yeah, let's see, how do these normally go with Jack? He either starts breaking fingers and shooting legs, or does something totally ridiculous. Which route are we going... the wet list? Wow, just pull that one out of the ass of Mission Impossible, huh?

Chloe displays her super agent moves by spilling a guy's coffee on his lap. Hacks into NSA in a minute. Jack asks, "What is taking so long?!" Chloe: "They added a new layer of security.... DONE!" No wonder terrorists can sneak around the U.S. so easily, even our own agencies have piss poor security. In fact, it is fairly obvious that in the 24 universe, the U.S. is not the paramount society, it is the limp noodle of podunk countries.

Desmond and Jack are laying in wait and... *RING*, hold on, got a call. Desmond: "Make it a speaker phone call!" Jack: "Ah... why would you ask me to do that?" Desmond: "I don't know. I just felt like saying that. I kind of want to, you know, listen in. You do say you talk to the president a lot." Jack: "Ok. Unusual request, but alright." Jack to CTU: "What's that? You want me to screw over Desmond? Sure." CTU: "Yeah, we can't stress enough this wet list which we know the Germans, because we all know Germans are stupid, stupid people, won't know what to do with it and totally screw things up."

Stengor arrives, gets nabbed, Desmond drives off, pops in the memory drive, calls up Heinrich Himmler, and- so sorry, Mr. Phelps, your tape has self-destructed in five seconds, not thirty. (Another MI reference!) Jack phones up: "(Nelson/) Ha ha! (/Nelson)"

Brother Palmer is on his way on the only road to the presidential compound, hurrying along, and... who the hell are these guys? How the hell did they manage to catch up to and pass a van full of people against a lone guy in a car? Got to love this presidential security....

Stengor: "I know I am a hot piece of *beep* ass, but how about you let me walk away and I'll give you what you want?" Jack: "Oh, would I, would I?" CTU: "Jack, we can't let her wa-" Jack: "So, here are the keys to your car, your identification back, a gun, my phone number, keys to my house, my PIN number, a map to the place where I buried a bunch of money and some guns, and-" CTU: "Damnit Jack! Why is you always go seasaw on terrorists? Either you are killing them without a second thought or letting them roam free!" Jack: "Hey! She said she would give me a wienerschznitl. That sounds kinky." CTU: "That is a food item, Jack!" Jack: "Oh.... Hey!" Stengor: "What? I told you. I handle tons of secret information, I have world wide contacts, and I am a hot piece of Hun hubba-hubba. But like I said, I do not know what I gave the terrorists. What more do you want?" Jack: "Ah... who gave you the info?" Stengor: "Oh, some skinny chick named Audrey Raines?"

Audience at home: "WTF?!"
Jack Bauer: "WTF?!"
Audrey Raines: "WTF?!"
Keifer Sutherland to the writers: "WTF?! Are you serious? AUDREY?! She's working with the terrorists now? She is where they have to follow the trail to next?"
Writers: *toking up* "Yeah man. It'll be great. Cuz then we see Jack conflicted about how to deal with Audrey, and whether to interrogate her or maybe try something-"
Keifer: "You guys have completely lost your minds, you know that? I wondered why Carlos Bernard wanted to quit since everyone loves his Tony character, but now I get it, you guys are totally going off the deep end with story ideas now. Do you realize how LITTLE sense the past few episodes made?"
Writers: "We killed Edgar, it's dramatic, people will be like 'Oh no, he and Chloe had this thing and never got it on."
Keifer: "People like Edgar! The whole country went ape-s### over his death, you nimrods."
Writers: "So bringing Palmer back from the dead is out of the question?"

Buzzkill 03-21-2006 01:11 AM

yeah...that pretty much sums up my feelings.

Pinnacle Charisma 03-21-2006 03:03 AM

I really hope this is no season 6 now. As much as I love 24 the writers seems to have ran out of ideas and are repeating the same ones over and over again combined with new poorly done "shock " storylines.

We don't know yet. This chick that they captured who sold info to the terrorists said that she got the info from Audrey. And Jack was like WTF NO WAY! Episode pretty much ended after that.

Previews for next week show Jack interrogating her and her denying it. SO WE'LL SEE. I dunno, as of right now I think it's a dumb idea to make her a bad guy. Her motive will have to be real good to make me accept it. Never cared for the character anyway.

Boondock Saint 03-21-2006 03:41 PM

I hope we see more of Desmond and he doesn't disappear like he did on Lost.

Wtf was with that old ass van catching up to Palmer's sportscar? With the way this season has been going I was expecting Wayne to bite it at the end.

Did they mention anything about Tony? I missed the beginning of it yesterday, seems odd that nothing happens out of that though so I must have missed it.

AareDub 03-27-2006 10:51 PM

Haha, yea. Oh, and where was the parking lot they arrested that chick at? Hmm, was it right outside of CTU by any chance? They got there AWFULLY fast between the end of last episode and the beginning of this one. 5 minutes tops.

Oh, and if I'm picking apart plot holes, then why could they just increase the pressure again?

But I think I agreed to stop bitching a while back, hehe.

Ha ha ha. Crazy sexual harrassment girl reminds me of Mickie James.

Also I am literally lost now. When did the shift change from Bierko to Henderson. I always assumed that Bierko was the main villain that they were trying to thwart and Henderson was just a cog in the machine that got them the gas. Now suddenly Henderson is the main baddie.

As for where Wayne Palmer got his high powered rifle.... his pocket? Maybe he bought it from some friendly squirrels in the woods.

ya true. i always thought that Bierko was the boss and Henderson was his sidekick

Boondock Saint 03-28-2006 03:58 PM

Good ep. This new girl with the harassment shit is gonna be stupid.

They still haven't resolved the whole issue about how Jack is wanted by the Chinese, and I'm sure they've heard he's alive. Maybe that will come into play.

RoXer 03-28-2006 05:36 PM

Its only been like 10 hours since hes been "alive"

Boondock Saint 03-28-2006 07:58 PM

Word travels fast in 24 world.

Also, why the hell did the terrorists need schematics of the plant if all they did was bust in there anyway and force the guy to take them to the control room and do everything for them?

McLegend 03-28-2006 08:02 PM

So they could see what plant would do the most damage?

Yeah I don't know

Yeah. She reminds me of early Chloe, back when she was just obnoxious, instead of obnoxious and helpful.

On the plus side, Kate Mara's easy on the eyes.

Dragon 04-04-2006 01:25 AM

What happened towards the end? Watched most of it but missed some towards the end.

Buzzkill 04-04-2006 01:26 AM

Wow, I know watching 24 requires a certain degree of suspension of disbelief...but give me a fucking break.

Dragon 04-04-2006 01:30 AM

What happened Buzzill. Inform me.

Lock Jaw 04-04-2006 02:32 AM

They revealed that goofy President Logan is in fact, really the evil mastermind behind all of the day's events.

Or so they want you to think. Could be a swerve.

John la Rock 04-04-2006 12:38 PM

This is a bit wierd that Logan is behind it all. I thought for sure it was the vice-president

McLegend 04-04-2006 05:22 PM

Logan is a genius

Pinnacle Charisma 04-05-2006 02:39 AM

Im loving the character of Logan.

Ever since since he debut half way though last season he has easily the best 24 villian since Nina Myers

But he wasn't a villain until now, just inept.

I dunno... never regularly watched it until now, when it's on after Prison Break... and it's great. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO MISS CUTHBERT ANYMORE. One episode, and she had zits all over her mouth (or herpes)

But that girl from Resident Evil 2, I'm in love with her.

loopydate 04-05-2006 02:30 PM

That's where I recognized her from! Thanks, Bean. That's been bugging me for, like, eleven "hours" now.

I've always felt that Ira Gaines from season 1 (who wasn't even the main villain, just worked for the Drazens) was a cool villain.

Boondock Saint 04-06-2006 12:13 AM

I hope this wasn't the last we see of Buchanan. :(

Boondock Saint 04-06-2006 12:19 AM

Also if the president is on it, wtf was up with Walt Cummings? Sure he could have been in on it without knowing that Logan was the "mastermind", since I'm sure the President would want to keep that info extremely limited. However I'm pretty sure I remember a scene with Logan screaming at Cummings after he finds out that he dealt with the gas. It just makes it kinda obvious this twist wasn't planned from the start and that the writers have got some real good explaining to do.

So they knew where to plant the gas cannisters and see how the gas lines run, etc. I doubt they could just have placed them anywhere in the building.

Hard to believe a US president would ever be behind this, but its just a tv show and it makes for good tv.

Innovator 04-06-2006 04:43 PM

The canisters were supposed to be used on Russia, and the President just signed that treaty. Jack stops them at the airport and they decide to use them on the US.

DaveWadding 04-06-2006 10:17 PM

OH MAN.

I just got my new Rolling Stone and JACK FUCKING BAUER IS ON THE COVER.

AlphaBean 04-07-2006 12:39 AM

Well you've got my Britney Spears cover from 97 beat, Wadding.

Loose Cannon 04-09-2006 09:53 AM

Finally watched it. OMG! They finally did what I've been waiting for them to do since Season 2. Awesome.
