R.A. Dickey, 3.1 innings, 7 earned runs, 6 homers. Usually people jizz at the Texas offense during the offseason and jump off the bandwagon around May or June, might be a little earlier this year.

The Miz 04-06-2006 10:01 PM

WOO BOUT TO GO 2 HOME OPENER. GIL MECHE YEAHHHHHHH

McDoogle 04-06-2006 10:08 PM

Another solid performance from the Blue Jays. Not too much longer now for them to bring home the championship.

BCWWF 04-06-2006 10:46 PM

Twins are awful

Imagine if Pittsburgh didn't have the worst front office of all time, their middle of the order would feature:

3. Chris Shelton
4. Jason Bay
5. Aramis Ramirez

YOUR Hero 04-07-2006 10:22 PM

Jays need middle relief.

The Miz 04-07-2006 11:31 PM

Great matchup of future Cy's in Felix Hernandez vs. Joe Blanton, Felix pitched well but they took him out because of his high pitch count. 1-0 A's in the 6th

The Miz 04-07-2006 11:45 PM

lmao Milton <s>Byrnes</s> Bradley just missed 3rd base on what should have been a 2-rbi single

Supreme Olajuwon 04-08-2006 03:03 AM

The Reds are 3-1 and have yet to give up less than 5 runs. Gotta love the GAB

well here we go again. starting like shit. last year we were like 11-19 at one point.

toxic rooster 04-08-2006 12:26 PM

Casey Blake grand slam, 2 solo bombs from Hafner in the Indians home opener.

Wishing I could see this series with the Twins on TV here :(

The Miz 04-09-2006 06:40 PM

Barry Zito - 6 IP, 0 ER, H, 6 K
Rich Harden - 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, BB, 8 K

oaklandf'na's

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-09-2006 08:36 PM

Tim Wakefield - 6 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 4 K
Curt Schilling - 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 K
Josh Beckett - 7 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, BB, 5 K

Clement also had 7 IP, while giving up 4 ER (not amazing but not awful) he was able to pick up 7 K's. Papelbon's ERA is 0.00 with 3 saves  I hope this shit continues

The Miz 04-09-2006 08:46 PM

A's 3 have been better :p

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-09-2006 08:51 PM

haha yea those stats are a little better, but Zito ERA is still 8.59 :shifty:

FakeLaser 04-09-2006 11:17 PM

Pretty glad I dropped Overbay for Shelton before the season started.

The Miz 04-10-2006 03:54 PM

Coco Crisp out 6-8 weeks with a broken finger

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-10-2006 03:59 PM

Just heard its only gonna be 10 days now

The Miz 04-10-2006 04:04 PM

No he has to wear a splint for 10 days and then he can resume baseball activites, meaning he'll probably be out around 3 weeks

SammyG 04-10-2006 06:12 PM

Dodgers are hitting the ball pretty well. Pitching should come around soon.

BCWWF 04-12-2006 12:02 PM

The Twins!

BCWWF 04-12-2006 12:02 PM

2-5 is good, but not great

BCWWF 04-12-2006 12:02 PM

For the Royals standards

ct2k 04-12-2006 02:25 PM

Another typical start to a Yankee season this year, blinding offense but stupid blunders costing runs and games. I can already predict how this season will go for us, but i'm not gonna speak to soon!

Only caught one game so far this season, coverage here is only sunday nights until later in the year, hopefully we'll get more after the NBA is done for the year (go Knicks :'( )

BCWWF 04-12-2006 02:58 PM

YOUR Hero 04-12-2006 10:29 PM

Lots of runs scored tonight in Seattle and in Boston. Thankfully my teams were on the winning end of both of them. I was surprised the Jays pulled Chacin after 5 innings. He wasn't great, but he looked like he could go further than that. AH WELL.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-12-2006 10:54 PM

David Wells looked good in his return :-\

Dustin Mohr tore it up tonight though, looks like this will definetly be Trot Nixon's last season in Boston.

Chacin was already at 90 pitches when he got pulled, I don't really see a point in leaving him in.

YOUR Hero 04-13-2006 09:57 AM

I didn't realize he had pitched that many pitches. I was more a casual observer of that game.

BCWWF 04-13-2006 04:51 PM

Francisco Lariano: Two innings pitched, five strikeouts.

I am in love. I'm glad the Twins found some offense and picked up the sweep, but at the same time I am disappointed that I didn't know it was a day game. Watching it on gametracker has been the staple of my nights lately.

Joey Slugs 04-13-2006 05:20 PM

Wooooo, 5-1 road trip for the Rox. First place as well.

ct2k 04-14-2006 06:41 AM

Looks like Johnny Damon's had no trouble adjusting to life in the pinstripes!

Has anyone got any idea why the big unit left last nights game after the 5th?

Dragon 04-14-2006 10:29 AM

I think he said his arm was a little stiff. He was starting to labor in the 5th too, was up to 93 pitches. Plus he had the complete game last time out so they probably just wanted to rest him.

ct2k 04-14-2006 01:33 PM

Fair enough, not worth taking any risks considering how well he's pitched in his 13 or so innings.

Howbout Cody Ross for the dodgers? Apparently there was talk of him being sent back to AAA to make space when Kenny Lofton comes back, can't see it happening now!

Dragon 04-14-2006 01:39 PM

Yeah, better to be safe with him.

What do you think of the rotation? Johnson and Mussina have been good, Chacon and Wang are struggling a bit but I think they will pick it up. When we need the 5th starter is where I am worried.

I will have no confidence in Pavano at all when he comes back, and won't be suprised if he gets injured soon after his return. That leaves Wright and Small (when he returns). I think Wright is pitching Saturday, so we will see how that goes and we can only hope for Small to be decent.

Loose Cannon 04-14-2006 01:45 PM

The Yanks are just going to have to bang out 8+ a game consistently this year, cause I can't see pitching helping them much.

ct2k 04-14-2006 01:54 PM

As you said Johnson has looked solid apart from the stiffness, Mussina has thrown well too, he's pretty much Mr Reliability, good for 6 or 7 most starts and he's solid defensively.

I've only seen Pavano in action a couple of times, he was pretty impressive, but they can't bring him back too early. Again i didn't see Wright last year, he's shown in the past he can produce the goods so i'm hoping he'll be able to do it for us.

I think Pavano would be my choice providing he's fully fit

FakeLaser 04-14-2006 03:45 PM

I doubt Pavano will help us at all.

For some reason I'm feeling a bounce back season for Moose. I don't think he'll post a sub 4.00 ERA but he'll get like 16 wins, I think.

Chacon and Wang will be fine. It's still early in the season, pitchers need time to get going sometimes. Look at all of the pitchers off to bad starts, Jake Peavy, Carlos Zambrano, Johan Santana.

I don't expect much from Wright. He was always a mediocre pitcher. As good as he was last year, Aaron Small probably won't be the answer. I wouldn't be surprised if we try and deal for somebody... possibly Andy Philips, Eric Duncan or Wil Nieves will be sent packing if so. I don't know who would really be available though. Maybe Dontrelle.

I'd be kind of pissed of we dealt Philips, I see big things in his future, he's solid on defense and he's hit at every level of the minors. Supposedly we're interested in Carlos Pena as a defensive replacement at this point though, rendering Philips useless. I'd much rather have Philips, who would probably platoon with Giambi at 1B/DH next year once Bernie is gone.

If we gave up 15 in 3 games to KC then lords knows what will happen when we face the big guns

MVP 04-14-2006 06:08 PM

Went to the Red Sox game last night. Turned out to be the worst game of the season. Couldn't believe how many guys Lilly struck out looking.

Clement sucked ass, but I know he's cpable of pitching better. Wells is god awful and needs to retire and stop whining about how it's unfair that he's left out of the rotation.

YOUR Hero 04-14-2006 06:20 PM

Lilly seems to always pitch really well against the Red Sox. Especially in Fenway (go figure)

YOUR Hero 04-14-2006 11:15 PM

Whoa. Jays (Downs) looked like shit early on. Soon as they got Downs out of there, The Jays settled down defensively and scored a ton of runs. They're up 11-5 right now in the top of the 8th.

BCWWF 04-14-2006 11:46 PM

The Twins offense has really been coming together lately. The numbers themselves aren't neccessarily noteworthy, but the fact that there have been comeback wins and timely hits is what I am excited about. That is how the White Sox won last year, their offensive numbers weren't amazing, but they got hits when it mattered. With Santana against Wright and Radke against Wang remaining, I like the Twins chances to take the series.

As for Rondell White, I agree with the decision to leave him in the four slot for now. His season average is .079, but if the guys around him are hitting then I am fine with it. Rondell should come around soon enough, and I would rather let this system work out instead of continuosly changing it around. Thanks.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-14-2006 11:50 PM

Schilling with another solid performance, and the Sox win another 1 run game. Papelbon also looked pretty impressive once agian, only giving up a wall ball single. This year should be real interesting, I think the Blue Jays might actually be for real for the whole season (Unlike last years Orioles) but if the pitching stays the way that is, I think the Red Sox have the edge over the Yankees even though the Yankees line up is a lot more deadly. If guys like Clement and Wells can step it up and pitch well, I think the AL East is going to shape up a lot different then some people on here projected. Red Sox have been doing all this with Manny starting out the season in a huge slump. (Still hasn't hit a homerun) I was pretty optomistic before the season (Cmon Im from Boston haha) but after the first 2 weeks I feel good about the Red Sox chances. Still real early though, a lot can change due to injuries or other facors, but so far so good.

YOUR Hero 04-14-2006 11:56 PM

13-9 for The Jays. Too many runs being givewn up by The Jays. Thing is, Halladay and A.J. haven't even pitched (AJ) to their fullest yet, so I'm not too worried. Why the fuck did The Jays move Bush and yet keep Downs? Jesus Christ.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-15-2006 12:02 AM

Papelbon 6 IP 5 SV 2 H 0.00 ERA 7 K

Sean Casey out until June with a back injury. Now that Craig Wilson gets to play everyday, the Pirates will realize what a bunch of fucking dumbasses they were for benching their best hitter not named Jason Bay

OssMan 04-15-2006 03:54 PM

Jorge Julio: 3.2 IP, 11 hits, 11 runs, 19.64 ERA

The Miz 04-15-2006 04:04 PM

Shut up Assman, Julio is hispanic, therefore it was a good pickup for the Mets

RoXer 04-15-2006 05:11 PM

RoXer 04-15-2006 05:12 PM

I should change my title to #1 ZITO

The Miz 04-15-2006 05:36 PM

Dan Johnson is probably going to be sent down in the next few days after starting 1-31. I expected him to hit the sophomore slump because of how he hit when pitchers started to figured him out at the end of last year but I don't think anyone saw this coming.

The Miz 04-15-2006 05:43 PM

Holy shit, Harden gives up the A's 1 run lead with a 3 run homer to Phil Nevin, but Vicente Padilla's next three pitches in the 6th are good for back-to-back-to-back homers from Chavez, Big Hurt, and Milton Bradley. 5-4 A's

Evil Vito 04-15-2006 11:24 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Hopefully the Mets will DFA Julio before he can blow a big game. He's worth keeping in the minors because his fastball has crazy velocity, he just overthrows every single time. Let him close in Norfolk and get his confidence back, where it won't matter if he sucks. You can't be a mop-up guy if you need someone else to mop up for you after.

I'd take Heath Bell over him any day of the week.</font>

BCWWF 04-16-2006 02:43 AM

Excuse me. Learn Twins, and Justin Morneau. That is all.

Could be a runfest tonight with Wang and Radke on the mound :-\

BCWWF 04-16-2006 06:25 PM

Yup, Radke is so weird. Ugh, three home runs, six runs total in six innings. BAH.

The Miz 04-16-2006 07:46 PM

God I fucking hate Beltre. Hitting .109, made an error that cost us one run (same amount we lost by)

Dragon 04-16-2006 08:04 PM

The Yankees this season have scored 9 or more runs in all their wins, any less than that they have lost. Not really a great sign because they won't be scoring 9 or more against the better pitchers.

Dragon 04-16-2006 08:12 PM

Wasn't Beltre tearing it up during the WBC? Suprised he is off to such a bad start to the season.

Just noticed Ichiro is only batting .185 as well.

YOUR Hero 04-16-2006 08:55 PM

Beltre is starting to look more and more like a bust. He doesn't even look good at the plate. That's the big difference between him and say Ichiro. You can see Ichiro is 'close'

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-16-2006 10:42 PM

Beckett with another 1 ER performance nicee

Red Sox gotta get the bats going though, they should be scoring a lot more than 2 runs, especially againest Seattle. Sucks for Seattle fans tomorrow, the game is going to be on at 8 am there time, Eastern timezone > your favorite timezone :shifty:

ct2k 04-17-2006 01:16 PM

I'm pleased Wang made a good outing against the Twins last night!

We got the Dodgers/Giants game here in the UK, solid pitching from both Seo and Hennessey, Bonds continued to struggle, he just didn't have any kind of rhythm going, not that i'm hugely sympathetic...Though Steve Finley and him looked to be getting along well...How dya think the whole roid/balco/grand jury thing goes down with the other Giants and Felipe? Obviously outwardly they're all fairly dismissive of it, as they have to be, but theres gotta be some unhappy guys there :-\

Also, Omar Vizquel still =

BCWWF 04-17-2006 01:30 PM

Yeah that double play by Omar was sick!

I don't know what will happen with the Twins pitching staff, but Lariano struck out five batters in two innings from the pen the other day. Baker and Lohse haven't been bad enough to move around, but Radke is still such a question mark. He will probably end up with a decent ERA and a lot of losses again this year, but I just never trust him in a big game.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-17-2006 02:30 PM

Youkilis beats out the throw to extend the 9th inning, after both Wily Mo and Mohr struck out, then Loretta cranks a walk off homerun...dynooooooooomite
