I hope for some Stampede matches and his best WWF matches The Ricky Steamboat Story Needs to be a 3 Disc Sting I hope it would be a deal where Sting got inducted to the WWE HOF and then participated in a DVD deal. One of the best ever for WCW Shane McMahon Shanes had some decent matches but I dunno if he deserves a DVD yet. |

The World Class DVD comes out Aug 7th, and while no match info has come out for it yet I have been able to find the following info from JRs Blog and Walmart.com. In JRs Blog he mentioned many WCCW stars were interviewed for the DVD including Kevin Von Erich, Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts, Jimmy Garvin, and Gary Hart. The WWE description of the DVD given to Wal-Mart says.....

There has been rumors that its been postponed due to Best Buy, Amazon, and Circuit City removing it off of their page for preorder but many other sites including Wal-Mart and FYE still have it coming out Aug 7th. If it is postponed the only reason I can think of is it had a Austin/Benoit Match on there as Austin liked his match with Benoit on Smackdown in Canada in 2001. |
I have read that WWE is debating on ever using Chris Benoit footage on DVDs again. The Summerslam Anthology is supposed to come out as early as Dec. and thats one of the decisions WWE has to make.
Here is the Summerslams Benoit was on 2000: Benoit beat Jericho in a 2 out of 3 falls match 2002: Benoit lost to RVD in a I-C title match 2003: Benoit lost to Eddie in a fatal 4 way U.S. title match that also included Rhyno and Tajiri 2004: Benoit lost to Randy Orton in the Main Event for the World Heavyweight Title 2005: Benoit beat Orlando Jordan in 25 seconds to win the U.S. Title |
Yeah all but one of those matches were title matches so there is absolutely no reason to edit those matches out.
And besides the only ones who buy those boxsets are the hardcore fans like me who don't really give a shit. |
The Austin 3 disc set supposed to come out Aug 7th has been delayed till Feb.
The reason is that the DVD is being done like Hogan Anthology (all matches with comments in between the matches by Austin and others) The DVD just happened to have Austin vs Benoit in Edmontion in 2001 on there. Since it had a match with Benoit on there and featured comments from Benoit WWE is taking the match off the set and adding another match thus the delay till Feb as they have to reput everything on the DVD. |

This means the next WWE star DVD to come out is the 3 disc Rey Mysterio The Biggest Little Man which comes out Oct 23rd. Then in November you have 3 big 3 disc releases with Cena, HBK, and Austin. Then WCCW in early Dec to round out the year.

Honestly, it's probably for the best to avoid Benoit matches for the time being until things settle down. A few more months (into 2008) and they shouldn't think twice about adding a Benoit match.

The Supershow in Italy in April is coming out on DVD in Europe and Benoit was in a 6 man tag match on the Smackdown Show and its not listed for the DVD.

Lastly, the other you mentioned a delay in the Austin DVD. Could that be due to Benoit? If so, it raises an interesting question. Will be Benoit be erased from all upcoming releases-no matter how important he is to that story?

The only matches on there worth seeing were the WCCW 6 man tag, the Steamboat/Youngblood vs Briscos, The Harts vs Knights and Taker vs Orton.

This is the snypois for the HBK 3 Disc Set coming out 11/20 He’s the Heartbreak Kid; the Show Stopper. For more than two decades, Shawn Michaels has had amazing matches inside the ring and controversial moments outside it. Now, for the first time on DVD, fans can see the whole story. From the Rockers to D-Generation X. So I am sure everyones happy about that because its gonna be a career retrospective of HBKs career. Theres plenty of matches to chose from and knowing that Rockers matches are gonna be on there is awesome. The Royal Rumble Anthologys Volume 1 and 2 will finally be released seperately November 27th. This is great news for fans who wanted just those volumes as they were the 2 most popular as they had never been out on DVD in the states before. WWE is deciding what to do with the Benoit footage for RR Volumes 3 and 4 before putting them out for individual release. |

Some good news. Circuit City released a Summerslam pack of Slams 04-06. While there was a diff cover for 04 (Benoit was on it) and Benoit matches werent listed on the cover the material was still on the DVD. So hopefully WWE does this with the ANthology as well.

Just downloaded every SummerSlam up to 2006 uncut and unedited from PW Torrents so I won't have to worry about the anthology. Gonna work on Survivor Series now. :y:

Some of the early ones are the Coliseum Video ones yeah. But the later ones are the PPV versions.

That has to suck because the early ones had some good long elimination matches. Especially the tags at 87 and 88. I hope to see them complete on the S Series Anthology when it does come out.

PW Torrents is the greatest thing ever. Been making my own DVD's with cases and box art and everything. I need to buy the Double Side DVD's that hold like 4 hour though so I can burn them as videos instead of files.

J.R. said we will never see a Benoit match on WWE DVDS again. He mentioned that it wouldnt even be on a Orton DVD down the line even though Ortons title win over Benoit was his biggest moment in his career thus far.

So WWE did their top ten summerslam moments on their website a few weeks back and I just read it, there's a video of Orton tlaking about how he beat the Undertaker for the belt at Summerslam and then the article on Orton winning the belt they don't even mention his opponent. So yeah, looks like there are going to be a whole shit load of history to be re-written.
