YOUR Hero 05-10-2007 11:56 PM

HHH could go to TNA and still no one would care. The ratings for WWE would stay virtually the same and so would those of TNA. TNA might get a week (or two) spike, but that's it.

Short answer: Yes.

Londoner 05-11-2007 04:25 PM

He's fucked then. And not in a good way.

Xero 05-11-2007 04:31 PM

He can get away with "Robbie V", or even "Rob V", which wouldn't be horrible. Better than "Brother Ray/D-Von/Runt".

The One 05-11-2007 04:35 PM

Why not just Rob Van Damme...like Jean-Claude Van Damme since that's where he got the name from anyway.

The One 05-11-2007 04:36 PM

Like Rhino going back to using the "i" instead of the "y" which was dumb to begin with.

Theo Dious 05-11-2007 04:48 PM

Rob Vandam?

Seriously, I think Robbie Vann would probably pan out well.

Kane Knight 05-11-2007 05:09 PM

I don't think WWE would sue , at least. There's no real point in addressing TNA.

Mr. Nerfect 05-11-2007 05:24 PM

Rob Van Dam fucked up his push, yes, but no one has ever accused him of anything otherwise. I don't see where this drug incident flaming of Van Dam is coming from. I don't see anyone arguing that he didn't fuck up his push, only that he should have gotten it earlier, and the WWE did their best to hold up and tame down RVD.

I'm not the biggest fan of him, but I wish the guy well, as he genuinely has an aura about him that draws regular fans in. He's one of those guys that's just easy to like, recognise and get behind. TNA is foolish if they don't come up with an offer. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn for the TNA X-Division Championship would kick ass.

Some people have suggested Ring of Honor, and I think that is certainly a possibility for Van Dam, too. He's not the most technical guy in the world, but I'm sure he's got enough sense to stick to his strengths, and work great matches based on what he does have going for him.

I'd like to throw Japan out there. I'm pretty sure they'd love the guy. He's a big star in America, he wears bright costumes, he's pretty iconic, and he has the martial arts thing going on. The more successful gaijin in Japan at the moment are Giant Bernard, Bison Smith, Buchanan and D'Lo Brown. Rob Van Dam could easily become Western culture's top prospect over there.

People who actually know how to read saw the initial post here?

Nah.

Um...what? The first post is the article that RVD would be leaving, which tries to leave out bias. Dave's post just expressed joy at the prospect of an RVD vs. Jerry Lynn match.

It came from me snapping after reading yet another spiel about how "RVD never got his ME push" and "ECW was supposed to center on RVD and it didn't," when he GOT his push, and ECW WAS centered on him, until HE fucked it up. Six years of not getting the fanboy-jaculation over him finally led to me snapping when I read that and realized that the fact that he threw away what was handed to him will never be acknowledged by some of these idiots.

Theo Dious 05-12-2007 12:55 AM

Oh and while I'm on the subject...

Well that's because the elephant seems to be enjoying it, silly. :p

RVD has mad oral skillz.

Oh OK. That's fair enough. He did get his push to the main event, you're correct.

I think what most people are bitter about is that it took them so long to give it to him. Some people will argue that RVD was the most over guy during the Invasion angle, and that the fans were craving a World Title win for him. If so, then the WWE were only five years late.

Lawler's 'RVD's title reign just went up in smoke' was worth it all. :y:

I probably would have lost interest in the project in a hurry if that hadn't been the PERFECT "I'm an elephant getting blown" shot.
