Let's face facts. No one is ever going to get over it. It will never go away.

The WWE doesn't even want it to go away. It's here to stay.

HBK fans seem to be less over it then Bret fans. Any time someone brings up Bret's name the next post is followed with "He's a whiny bitch." No one is over Montreal, and no one will ever be over Montreal...

i will not bombard you with neg rep because everyone is entitled to opinons and i hope mine is heard too. vince said it was BEST for the business. bret just happened to be the jackoff asshole that was not giving up the title and shawn was ASKED to do this. shawn was caught in the middle of it between vince and bret. do you bret fans even know the story or are you pissed that hbk was infinetly better then bret and was the face of the company years before this incident. and to what you said about the guys following him. BIG FUCKING DEAL because it wasnt anyone who mattered and they didnt leave anyway. but the real problem with bret hart fans is that hbk is still wrestling and bret is at home unable to go in the squared circle anymore but you guys need to blame someone other than brets bike and that is unfair to hbk. so again FUCK HIM AND YOU..............SUCK IT PWNED:wave:

I'd recommend getting your facts straight. Bret said he would drop the title, he just didn't want to do it in Canada. Seeing as he had complete creative control over his character, which was in his contract. He had every right to do so. He said he would vacate the title the next night.

well you need to think about when Shawn had his first reign which was in '96 and business was SHITE, and Bret was gone. Bret won his first title in 1992 which I dunno how good business was for sure, but it was defnitely better than 1996, which we've established is terrible.

Bret's second reign in 1994, again I don't think business was all that bad, he had that great feud with Owen, and with Backlund, again not Hogan or Austin numbers but if you think about it, it was probably pretty decent.

Michaels won the title in November and business was good I'd assume cuz it was the start of the attitude era but not enough to make up for his previous 2 title reigns (I believe it to be 2 cuz he lost to Sid then won in back right)?

It was more timing than anything, but looking at it... facts are facts, just think about when Bret had the belt, and when Shawn had his.

B) You trust Vince McMahon and let him work you.
C) HBK was not the "Face of the company for years before this incident" He won his first world title in 1996 then retired in early 1998....
D) You have no clue about the Bret/Shawn history
E) You have no clue what happened at survivor series

It's usually not Bret to be honest, it's usually people asking him about it. I think he'd rather not talk aobut it.

The fans are usually in Canada screaming "You Screwed Bret!" but that's about it. And that's pretty awesome to be honest, not because of loyalty to Bret, but because of how something that happened so long ago still has an effect on everything, especially in a business right now that has a memory span of a goldfish.

Obviously there will never be peace between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels HBK but honestly Bret should have done right by his promoter and dropped the belt when asked. They were not in his home town of Calagary Alberta Canada and besides that it's a fake sport. He let his feelings get in the way and in the end is no better than Hogan.

Actually Bret gets asked. He simply answers. It's the wwe that couldnt let Bret or the Screwjob go..hence the reason they kept referring to him and it. Hell, they fucking PUSHED their Summerslam match between two big stars in Hogan and HBK with what went down that night. They still needed Bret to help sell that fucking show.

As for Mania X it was Bret/Owen that topped that card, and then he goes on to cap it with Yoko. The ladder match is overrated.

Bret hasnt been with the company in a decade and gets a bigger pop than HBK has ever gotten anywhere in his entire life.

Just for the record, I don't believe Bret is a better wrestler than Shawn. What Bret lacked in Charisma he made for in technicality, and vice versa for Shawn. I'm also not saying Shawn isn't technical, he's pretty damn good at it, but Bret was just better in that aspect. Both of them we're quite entertaining. However, to say that it was good that Bret was kicked in the head, or that it was good that he got screwed is pretty unreasonable.

Oh, and the Taker video proves nothing except to say that Michaels had personal issues once and that the rumour mill was in full swing around Mania 14. There is no evidence there that says that Michaels wanted to give up the title rather than job to Austin.

The only thing I will say about this issue is that Shawn Michaels needs to go back to his old tights, because the pseudo-chaps look is ugly as hell.
