Where it asks you something like where to install, there is an option for Network Installation.

G 07-24-2009 01:57 PM

You know what, I may have used the cIOS Installer which was in the package Dave sent out. I don't think I could get the .wad to work for me. In fact, I think it was a .dol I downloaded which I had to rename to boot.dol. You'll see Network Installation here

G 07-24-2009 02:00 PM

I'm confusing myself now. I'll need to retrace my steps when I did it.

road doggy dogg 07-24-2009 02:02 PM

I just did the SUPER SMART WAY and tried anything and it worked. I just used the IOS249, like when I installed the last batch of WADs, and it worked. Nothing seems broken so far. :o

road doggy dogg 07-24-2009 02:03 PM

HEY WHOA WAIT, is this DVDX thing, does it let me play DVDs on my Wii?
crossrine

G 07-24-2009 02:08 PM

OKAY

After confusing myself, I figured out what I actually did.

1. I didn't use the wad from that link I sent. I either couldn't get it to work, or I found it after I already upgraded.

2. I downloaded a .dol file from here.

3. I renamed that rev10 installer to boot.dol, and put it into a folder named cIOS rev10 installer, which was put into the apps folder. SD > apps > cIOS rev10 installer > boot.dol file.

4. Went into the Homebrew, select the cIOS rev10 installer folder, then the boot.dol file.

5. Select Network Installation

Yeah, see, great. The wad installation is the easiest. :shifty:

Yep. I can't help you there, though.

road doggy dogg 07-24-2009 02:15 PM

Yeah idk, I tried what you just said now, but I don't have an Apps folder or anything on my SD. No idea. Gonna just go with what I have, I think it will work fine. :o

I am trying to figure out this DVDX thing, it didn't make a channel or anything on my Wii though, and the Back-Up Reader isn't using it or anything. "Hmmm."
crossrine

OssMan 07-24-2009 04:44 PM

DVDx is a piece of shit that won't even install itself correctly

Savio 07-25-2009 02:08 AM

fucking disc read error 324....anyhelp?

using a Memorex 4.7gig DVD-RW and Backup launcher

Vietnamese Crippler 07-25-2009 04:51 AM

Don't use an RW

Use only DVD-R

Extreme Angle 07-25-2009 07:48 AM

Where do you guys get your games?

I was using rapidshare but my membership just ran out.... Wondering what's the best place to subscribe for to download movies and games....

G 07-25-2009 07:49 AM

Demonoid

Extreme Angle 07-25-2009 08:16 AM

Didn't like demonoid, torrents took forever...
Wasn't paying for a torrent service though... Free Utorrent

Savio 07-25-2009 12:44 PM

I might just play it off of a USB Flash drive....I heard you can do that

G 07-25-2009 01:37 PM

I'd imagine it's the same steps as using a USB hard drive. Go for it

Savio 07-25-2009 02:13 PM

yeah I think I have to do this for now atleast just to see where my problems are. right now with usind a DVD I could have problems resides in:
  • The Disc
  • The Burner
  • The ISO
  • The Loader
If I use a USB drive it eliminates half of those problems

Dave Youell 07-25-2009 02:38 PM

Savior,

It depends on how you modded you Wii in the first place, I was getting your error until I went onto my current version which has now worked for 4 different Wii's that I'm aware of.

Savio 07-25-2009 02:46 PM

Well I used bannerbomb...I think you used the same thing right?

Savio 07-25-2009 06:40 PM

Can't find a fuckin USBLoader that works

Dave Youell 07-25-2009 06:46 PM

No

Something else. You want it?

Savio 07-25-2009 06:49 PM

would that mean id have to delete my current homebrew channel and etc?
------------------------
trying CoverFloader now

Dave Youell 07-25-2009 06:52 PM

I didn't, what I would give you would over ride it and give you a back up loader with the right IOS

This would still give you homebrew, so you'd just need to save any wad. files you've got

Savio 07-25-2009 07:03 PM

I dont have any because I dont know how to use them. You can send it. Does it work just like bannerbomb? (through the channels/SD card screen?)

Dave Youell 07-25-2009 07:07 PM

You will get 2 channels

The homebrew one and the back up channel

Dave Youell 07-25-2009 07:09 PM

Back up channel can be used with the SD card and you just load in your copies

Savio 07-25-2009 07:18 PM

You still on dave? can you re-up it?

G 07-25-2009 07:25 PM

I still have it. I'll try to upload it in a bit.

G 07-25-2009 07:34 PM

sent

Savio 07-25-2009 08:36 PM

Cool it worked I was also able to use it to instal one of my other wads however I think there must be something wrong with my iso so I am gonna work on that

G 07-25-2009 09:19 PM

I'm updating to 4.1u right now via Waninkoko updater. I guess I have to since Resort will require me to update in order to play. Then tomorrow when I pick it up, I'm gonna have to let the disc do the update, too. Hoping for the best. :y:

G 07-25-2009 09:32 PM

Okay, I'm good so far. I'm updated to 4.1u and everything still works as far as I can tell. I tested playing back ups, installing wads, and playing a Wii Ware game. Now I wait for tomorrow's hurdle. :(

Savio 07-25-2009 10:19 PM

My friend was calling homebrew the "Hebrew" channel

Savio 07-25-2009 11:35 PM

This shit is getting me so fucking frustrated

Savio 07-26-2009 12:01 AM

all right so i got the wii sports iso and I went trough it and searched for the 001 and 002 error, it said it didn't find it.

I modded my console the way G and Youell did and their backup loader while also downloading coverloader and USB Loader GX.

tried putting the iso on a USB using WBFS and that didn't work for either nor did burning the game on my DVD-RW.

What can I do?

Vietnamese Crippler 07-26-2009 12:11 AM

Don't use a -RW, use only -R for best results.

Savio 07-26-2009 12:13 AM

but shouldn't it have worked off the USB?

Vietnamese Crippler 07-26-2009 12:20 AM

I dunno what you guys are using, so I can't comment about that.

But just saying for burning games, DVD-Rs work the best.

Savio 07-26-2009 01:41 AM

Well after updating to IOS38 rev13 and fiddling with it nearly 10 times switching both usb slots I finally got it to work.

I used USBLoader 1.5
(afraid to turn wii sports off though, did research and found out some flash drives don't work as well as others)

Vietnamese Crippler 07-26-2009 01:59 AM

Just as an aside, the new games (particularly Table Tennis) for Wii Sports Resorts are pretty fun (all while still running 3.2U, so no worries for G).

Dave Youell 07-26-2009 02:11 AM

Ahhh

So Wii Sports doesn't need an update, sweet.

Sorry about that dead link Savior

G 07-26-2009 09:08 AM

Oh, and Savior, USB drives need to be in the outer USB port.

With the Wii standing up, it's the one on the right.

I'm just worried because I can't remove the update or anything to bypass it, since it's the retail disc. Does it give you an option to Update: yes/no?

Either way, my TRU opens in 1/2 hour, so I'll find out soon enough.

G 07-26-2009 11:01 AM

Okay, so you MUST install the update if you're using the retail disc. I did the update, and as far as I can tell, nothing is fucked up. My channels are still there, HBC still works. I'm currently watching the Motion+ video.

G 07-26-2009 05:42 PM

So, I had 2300 points which I will never use again, since I can download the games myself. Put some WiiWare games up on Goozex and already made $15 in Goozex points.

Now, I need to find a home for the remaining 1100 Wii points.

G 07-26-2009 08:17 PM

Wow, holy shit. World Tour DLC has been hacked not too long ago. If I didn't have the stuff for the 360 I'd def go out and buy a guitar.

Dave Youell 07-27-2009 03:09 AM

Oh
My
God

THANK YOU G!!!

I was asking about this on here a few weeks ago and I got shot down, knew there must of been a way

G 07-27-2009 08:58 AM

Here is all the RB2 DLC hacked. FUCK I'm gonna have to find a cheap guitar. :)

This one (RB2) seems to be easier, because it makes the DLC store show all the songs as purchased, so then you just download what songs you want.

Funky Fly 07-27-2009 09:12 AM

Wow, leave it to Nintendo make piracy easy as fuck.

G 07-27-2009 09:25 AM

Fuck, man. I think I'm gonna look for a WT guitar and then make a copy of Smash Hits and Metallica, and sell my 360 copy of Metallica, since the career is horrible because you can't do co-op.

I dunno... I've confused myself.
Torrents just seemed really slow compared to rapidshare.

road doggy dogg 07-27-2009 10:41 AM

SWEET, Guitar Hero DLC free?! I've blown like $20 on songs already, now I can get the rest awesomely free. I love this.

Never heard of premium utorrent either. Torrents depend on 3 things, really:

1. Your connection speed. The faster your internet the better. Obvious, really.

2. The number of seeders versus leechers and their upload speeds. The more seeders with faster upload speeds the better. Again, obvious agian.

3. Your upload speed versus your download speed. If your upload settings are completely open, it can actually slow down your download speed. You should cap your upload speed to 3/4 of your actual upload speed.

G 07-27-2009 01:16 PM

Mother fucker. I am downloading the DLC now, and was hoping on getting Death Magnetic. But nooooooooo, the full album is too good to be on the Wii. :foc:

Funky Fly 07-27-2009 01:21 PM

Metallica is never having their shit ripped off again.

Dude, they're gonna send a kill squad after you... spear headed by Diesel Mac.

G 07-28-2009 12:37 PM

WOOOOOOOO

Got the World Tour DLC working. There is one problem, however. You need the retail disc in order to delete the songs off the Wii. Not the SD card, but the Wii memory. Something about the loaders not knowing how to do it. BUT, since there is only ONE song that I wanted (which is the one I paid for on the 360), I will not be needing to delete it and it can stay on my Wii FOREVER. I have burned World Tour, Metallica and Smash Hits. I just need to buy a World Tour guitar now, which is only $34 shipped (new) on eBay. After looking at compatibility charts, I find that the World Tour guitar is the best option.

NOW, I look into RB's DLC.

Funky Fly 07-28-2009 10:27 PM

Can't be arsed to bother with music games on the Wii. I've got ISOs of just about all the games I want already.

Dave Youell 07-29-2009 03:54 PM

The Beatles - Rock Band will be out in a few weeks :D

Funky Fly 07-29-2009 04:44 PM

And I'll get it for 360, so I can continue to use the instruments I already have. You know, I have 4 guitars.

For serious games like that, I'm going 360.

OssMan 07-29-2009 05:19 PM

How can Guitar Hero possibly be different for each console

Funky Fly 07-29-2009 06:19 PM

Probably just boils down to 2 or 3 exclusive songs for the Wii, since it got GH hella late.

That and I think Wii GH/RB gets their DLC weeks after the other systems.

Savio 08-01-2009 11:38 PM

I got the 002 error for wii sport resort but generic wii patcher could not find it....help?

found out its the vid fucking everthing up :/

G 08-02-2009 09:06 AM

I'll explain how to fix it, but first of all do you have a Motion+?

Savio 08-02-2009 10:12 AM

nah I was going to get everything ready before buying that

LuigiD 08-03-2009 01:04 PM

I don't know if any of you guys can answer but I saw the thread and it reminded me..
I am currently in Central America doing a summer study course. There is burned games everywhere here. Does anyone know if they work on the Wii without any type of modifications? I always ask the people but they say no modifications no matter what since they want money.

Dave Youell 08-03-2009 02:05 PM

I just came across a game that couldn't find the iso (for Wii Patcher)

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

Any ideas?

You'll have to read through the thread.

Your post count isn't high enough for me to warrant you sending the download information.

You will have to make modifacations to the software of your wii console, but not the hardware

You'll need to use the alt dol method for that game. I don't know the specifics, that's all I remember reading.

Same goes for World Tour and Metallica.

Weird! I was thinking the same today, was going to test it and let you know

Dave Youell 08-06-2009 08:04 AM

World tour didn't work for me :(

G 08-06-2009 09:00 AM

Dave Youell 08-06-2009 09:21 AM

The 00002 Error

But i can't load it in the patcher

G 08-06-2009 10:22 AM

That's odd. I'm able to load it just fine in the back up channel. Try loading it through a loader with the 002 fix.

Savio 08-09-2009 06:25 PM

Dave Youell 08-10-2009 03:40 AM

G,

Was about to test out a wii sports resort copy.

Does it do an update? Anything I should be aware of?

G 08-10-2009 07:22 AM

It'll force you to update if you don't block it.

Dave Youell 08-10-2009 01:56 PM

Ok?

So, what do I do then?

Just cancel the update and that's it? What would happen if it did update?

I updated first using Waninkoko's 4.1 updater, then did the update off the disc. Everything seems fine.

Dave Youell 08-10-2009 05:55 PM

Is that the 4.1 updater I gave you, or something else?

G 08-10-2009 07:10 PM

You gave me the 4.0, 4.1 just came out a few weeks ago.
