when I saw it the theater was laughing throughout the whole movie
|
Thed, side question, did you read and/or see Watchmen?
|
Did not read/see Watchmen.

I was going to liken Inglorious Basterds to it as a "story placed within history that stays true to the time period but influences the events around it" example
|
Every WWII film (or film in general for that matter) is fiction to some extent. Whether it's totally made up as Basterds was or based on a true story like Flags of our Fathers, there is always some artistic license. On the one hand I can see how the Basterds have to go after Hitler in order to fulfill their ultimate objective, but on the other I can't reconcile that with the historical inaccuracy. It's just too big of a change to history to swallow as the ending.

True. I respect that. It's just a different approach I suppose. To me, it's all make believe. Especially when it's romanticized like a western adventure. I personally couldn't care less if they give the war an alternate ending. In a way, I actually prefer it.

I absolutely loved everything about this. Hell yeah

interested to see how the premier in Isreal goes over...
|
Just saw this, loved it one of the best movies I have seen in awhile.
Also I thought it was hilarious when Gobbels started crying when Hitler said it was his best movie yet. |
This is a great movie. Tarantino knows his stuff. I don't think I even blinked during the bar scene.
