Ole Miss' D is STOUT but Snead has been playing horrible.. |
Im calling LSU beating Florida by at least 2 TDs.
HUGE hype down here in NOLA about this game.. I am at my dad's ATM cooking chicken livers and sausage..
Even at 3-3 its been a hell of a game.
Shitty offsides calls..
Also, that TD was def offensive pass interference.. |
Florida's defense is absurd. The look on LSU's QB's face is great. Just like what the fuck am I supposed to do now.
Also dunno if I mentioned this before but Urban Meyer used to be the D Coordinator at my high school. What's up gangstaaaas
That SEC commercial that lists all the great things SEC schools are doing is awesome.

Didn't expect Tulsa to give Boise State much of a game last night but they did.
Cincy @ South Florida tonight should be good. |
lol Lou Holtz getting pissed because Mark May's laughing at him for saying Notre Dame's gonna beat USC this year
can't believe ESPN feels this guy deserves a paycheck |
Lou Holtz can do what he wants.
USF was supposed to have this ridiculous defense and then they give up 132 yards rushing and 2 TDs in one half to UC's backup QB. Come on now.
Lou Holtz needs to lay off the tanning bed
how long is Pike gonna be out?
it would be imense if the Irish could pull this off today. Clausen for Heisman
I think Pike's out for the next game.
I dunno who to root for in this Texas/Oklahoma game. I want Texas to lose so OSU and UC can move up in the rankings, but I hate Oklahoma so much. Also if I had to pick between Texas and an SEC school winning the BCS championship, I'd probably pick Texas.
If Ohio State even wins today, that is. This offense is pretty mediocre.
lol Buckeyes are getting dominated by a 1-5 team. 5 turnovers and it's still the 3rd Quarter
unfucking believable
Can't believe ND even made it a game w/ USC. USC made so many mistakes, got real lucky today.
Florida escaped today too, I want to see UF/USC National Championship. |
FUCKING YES PURDUE. WAY TO FUCKING GO.
If i cant have a National Championship, or a BCS Bow in , or a Big Ten title, the thing i wanted most was a win over OSU. Great fucking job Purdue. No one will give them the credit they deserve cause everyone is on the Terrible Prior argument, but Prior ran the ball 21 times and only averaged 1 yard a carry. The Boilermakers defense stepped up huge. I hope we can run the table and get into a bowl game. |

The 1998 edition to the Alamo Bowl featured the Kansas State Wildcats, and the Purdue Boilermakers. The Wildcats came into the game fresh off a double over-time loss in the Big 12 Championship Game to the Texas A&M Aggies, which ruined their chance at National Championship in the Fiesta Bowl. With an experienced quarterback, Michael Bishop, the Heisman Trophy runner-up, and one of the best offenses and defenses in the country, the Wildcats were generally expected to have an easy bowl victory. The Wildcats finished with a #3 ranking in the BCS and thought they deserved to play in one of the BCS Bowl games. Feeling out of place in the Alamo Bowl,[citation needed] Kansas State was unable to overcome the unranked Purdue Boilermakers, who drove 80 yards for a touchdown in the final minute to shock Kansas State 37-34. After this season, the "Kansas State Rule" was created, making the #3 spot an automatic bid. Kansas State would finish ranked #6 in the BCS the following season, only to be left out of the BCS once again. The win was selected as the second best win for Purdue during the Joe Tiller Era by noted Purdue blog Off the Tracks |

Going to be "make or break" for TCU pretty soon when they go up against BYU. I would like to see two non-BCS teams make it but that's highly unlikely. Probably going to be Boise State this year.
Ohio State's computer average was 32nd, but the Harris and USA Today polls have them 17th.
Pretty surprised Boise State is so high. Not that they don't deserve it but usually the BCS Busters get shafted. |
Im rooting for Iowa/Cincinatti Championship game but it'll never happen. I do figure they leapfrog Boise State eventually just based on strength of schedule.
If Weis gets run this year Brian Kelly is going to get a massive contract from Notre Dame.
So fucking glad that Virginia Tech lost. Even though I'm a Gators fan, I'd rather see VATech lose than UF win.
I feel like Bama should be number 1
Should be interesting to see what happens if it comes down to an undefeated Big East team and a 1 loss SEC team, Big 12 team, or USC for the BCS title game. Cause it's one thing to say that an undefeated non-BCS team can't get in, but the Big East is a BCS conference. If a BCS team can't run the table and play for a national title, what's the point of having BCS conferences?
Now that I think of it, I dunno if Iowa runs the table and gets in the title game either. If that happened you could pretty much see the downfall of the BCS coming. Even if the Big Ten has been weak, they still have a ton of stroke.
A couple of years ago when West Virginia and UConn/USF was undefeated late into the season, there was a concern about a Big East team in the title game but the BCS poll had them ranked in the Top 2. ESPN and others were happy once both Big East teams fell out since it allowed the SEC v Big 10/12/USC game to occur for ratings purposes.
Same with the ACC outside of Miami U/FSU/V Tech in that its a BCS conference but realistically nobody wants them in a title game. Utah only got a #2 last year because all the games were done and it guaranteed a symbolic ranking while making sure Utah couldn't play in the title game. |
I think this year or next year is 1st year ESPN takes over coverage of BCS Bowls and just so happened they stopped talking about the need or the debate over the playoffs in college football. They don't want the NCAA to get upset and maybe cancel the contract.
U of A should not be ranked 22
They shouldn't even be in the top 35 |
Apparently SEC suspends the ref crew from Arkansas-Florida for 1 week minimum and then won't get any top quality games till mid-November. Supposedly ESPN had an article stating the ref crew was meant to have their scheduled week break this weekend so the punishment isn't really much of a punishment besides the no top games allowed.

^Been thinking about that too. I feel like if Texas runs the table as well as Cincinnati/Iowa that 1 loss SEC team/USC would play in the national title game. I don't hate the BCS but if an undefeated BCS school were to not get in over a 1 loss team it would really, really suck. Kinda completely ruins everything
It's already ridiculous enough that Boise State could have their 3rd undefeated regular season in 4 years and still not be considered for the title game. There's even talk that if Oregon wins the Pac 10 they'd have a better shot of making the game even after they lost to Boise State.
Well, looks like my prediction, previously seen here, didn't quite work out. But now we must look ahead to Minnesota next week.
UConn....:'(
Moreso the QB's fault for throwing 3 picks. |
UConn almost had it in the bag till Devine pulled a mirical run.
UNC 16 point underdogs tomorrow vs. Va. Tech
Just heard a radio ad for UC football to come watch the Bearcats euthanize the UConn Huskies.
HOW BOUT A LITTLE SENSITIVITY, BRO |
Hearing rumors of Oregon going with the "black out" Saturday night vs USC. School officials aren't allowing them to call it that though because they feel it's racist. When I think black out I think of drinking large amounts of alcohol, not black people.
Hopefully Oregon rocks completely black uniforms, they had the black helmets last week. |
Man, Big Ten refs must really hate Indiana. Screwed them in the Michigan game and now they're doing everything humanly possibly to make them lose to Iowa.
Poor UConn :(
Yeah man, they gotta get it together. I didn't think it would be this bad.
People were calling Florida a soft #1 all week because their last 3 games weren't blowouts, but they are stomping Georgia like the JV team.
Some crazy high scoring games today. Florida St. beat NC St. 45-42, Houston beat So. Miss 50-43, and North Texas is currently up on Western Kentucky 56-49.
If USC loses, is it safe to say we wont have to hear about them being in title contention even if everyone else loses at least once?
Yeup, I think in the minds of the voters its something like SEC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac-10, ACC, Big East, then everyone else for conference rankings. Since last few years for no real reason except it was done was to ensure 1 SEC team gets to be in the title game.
So if USC looses 2 times in a conference that's been hyped as USC's to always win, its going to hurt them more in perception. |

Texas for #1

And for people that are like " No way they can rig college football, they'd get investigated!!! "... See the Bowl Championship Series. Nuff said. |
College Football is slowly killing themselves anyways. I listen to a ton of talk radio and i read all the articles and what not. This time 3 or 4 years ago, having 5 undefeateds would be a major conversation. It would be a bigger deal then the beginning of the NFL season. Who gets a bid, who doesnt. Who's gunna get screwed and what not. But now, no one really cares. Everyone on radio and sportswriters and such, all know what the National Championship will be. It's gunna be some form of Texas/ Florida/ Alabama. It's been decided for the last 5 weeks now. No one cares anymore. I dont even watch. Money has sucked the life and legitimacy out of College Football.
And trust me, Alabama is sitting in the top 3 thinking they are in perfect position, but when it comes down to Bama vs Florida in the SEC title game and the chance to go to the National Championship against Texas ( which is the most likely scenario ), the powers that be in College Football will make sure Tim Tebow gets into that National Title game. You'd be a fool to think not.
I think what is hurting the most has been the recent thinking of every BSC title game must include a SEC team going back the last 3 out of 4 teams when before it was the top 2 teams regardless of conference. It limits the possibilities of potential match ups to just a OSU/Florida/USC/Texas/LSU instead of the usual 2-3 potential teams from each conference.
I would also blame ESPN's growing influence over the BSC since they can devout 24/7 coverage on tv and influence the rankings in the voters minds. |
The SEC isn't even that good this year. It has 3 good teams, and I'm not convinced LSU is that good. If they are, they haven't proven it. But look at the conference breakdown of the BCS standings:
Big Ten: 4 teams Pac 10: 4 teams Big East: 3 teams ACC: 3 teams Big 12: 3 teams SEC: 3 teams Where's this SEC dominance that everyone is talking about? |
Its all about perception, usually the SEC has problems with creating an undefeated team or 1-loss team since they tend to beat each other up during the season. Last 3-4 years that hasn't occurred and since during that time an SEC has won the title, people assume SEC must be the best (also based on past history). SEC also managed to market themselves as best conference in college football to help with their dominance perception.
USC also gets this perception when they are undefeated or have 1 loss since ESPN and others hype them up as best team ever or #1. |
Quote:
I guess it usually comes out in Jan when an SEC team beats Ohio State. Also, I tend to see the Pac-10, SEC, and Big 10 as the best conferences in college football right now. I think the Big 12 is highly overrated and the Big East and ACC are just weak overall. |
I can't tell if you're trying to be funny or not, but it brings up the point that most people think the SEC is dominant because they have a good track record and because they have a couple good teams this year. However as we can clearly see, unless you're retarded, the SEC is no more dominant than any other conference this year.
Quote:
Nah, it's just a shot at Ohio State, who I don't really care for. And no, the SEC isn't more dominant than any other conference this year. Like I said, I think as a whole they are in the top 3 with the Pac-10 and Big 10. Next would probably be the Big 12, then the ACC and the Big East. |
And I'll go even further to say that the Pac-10 and Big 10 are underrated this year and have been consistently for the last couple years.
Can Boise State play in the National Title game for once?
Boise's never gonna get into the Title game
sucks cause they're the team I support most. |
What really sucks for them is eventually the system is going to change and they'll be one of the biggest reasons why, but by then Chris Peterson will be long gone and they won't come anywhere close again.
Brandon Spikes suspended for the first half of Florida's game against Vandy for a blatant eye gouge
seems fair |
That shit happens all the time in loose ball scrums. He got caught. I'm fine with it.
it wasn't a loose ball scrum though
Iowa losing in the 4th quarter again. Eventually they won't be able to come back and win.
BCS lovers everywhere rejoice
Haha Boilermakers beat Michigan!
Also, is there any doubt that the BCS Championship game will be Florida/Alabama vs Texas? Boring |
Buckeyes put a whooping on Penn State tonight. Glad to see Pryor stepping up in a big game.
Next week vs. Iowa at the Shoe. Winner gets the BCS bid. Iowa probably won't have their QB. EXCITING |
WOW can't believe LSU didn't get that interception call. Looked like a pretty clean INT to me.
Yeah SEC officiating has been a mess this year, too many blown calls in key games. ESPN was happy though Alabama won since they had previews and stats ready on ESPN News showcasing the SEC title game and saying it guaranteed a spot in BCS bowl.
Had Oregon not lost today, they were still set to leap-frog Boise State in the rankings this week. |
Uconn falls short. Again.
Apparently this is Ohio week on the ESPN networks. Ohio vs. Buffalo was on last night, Toledo vs. Central Michigan tonight, Bowling Green vs. Miami (OH) tomorrow, Cincinnati vs. West Virginia Friday, Ohio State vs. Iowa Saturday
then we've got the Bengals vs. Steelers on Sunday and Browns vs. Ravens on Monday that's too much Buckeye state for any man to handle |
Quote:
I'm also curious to see what 3 teams out of the ACC you consider good? I've seen most of them play and they all seem to be hit or miss - I wouldn't really consider any of them BCS worthy (obviously 1 of them has to be but you get my point) |
One more thing, can't believe RP claimed that "college football is slowly killing itself" - that is some type of joke, right?

Also don't sleep on Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech is good, but I don't think they are BCS good. |
College Football is weird in how they allow a D-1A school to play D-1AA and count the wins but won't count them for Bowl eligibility. Defeats the purpose of having those games besides for the usual cupcake guarantee and record padding.
If you lose to a D-1AA, then your guaranteed almost no major bowl appearance (like Michigan a few years ago) but if you win it counts as a non-conference win in case of a tie in records. A few schools this year might not end up in bowls because they won their D-1AA game but were average in the season. |
god, Notre Dame is so frustrating to watch. Once again playing from behind.
I thought that was a fumble by Clausen, his hand was empty coming forward.
TCU smashed Utah and that is why I do not gamble. Utah was a 20 point underdog, I would have bet the house that Utah was gonna cover that |
Clemson has all but clinched a rematch in the ACC title game vs. Georgia Tech. The first game was sick, Ga Tech (at home) had a 24-0 only for Clemson to take the lead at 27-24 in the 4th quarter. Then gay ass Ga Tech kicked 2 late fgs and won a heartbreaker. And Clemson came pretty damn close to beating TCU too. Both awful losses. Third loss was awful as well but it was to Maryland so I dunno. Pretty terrible team to lose to.
Orange Bowl vs. Cincinnati? Would be pretty serious. I'm also not sure if C.J Spiller is going to, or deserves to win the Heisman. But he has to be on everybody's top 5 list at least. Dude is more ridiculous than ever this year. He threw, ran, and caught a touchdown this past weekend. He has 8 touchdowns this season of 50 yards or more. Almost every single game he has some ridiculous touchdown where he just outruns eveybody |

Can't believe BC is even in the discussion for the ACC title game. If Clemson loses and BC wins this week, they would be in. I mean that's not gonna happen but still pretty wild, considering BC was the "throw-in" w/ Va Tech and Miami but they've been in the ACC Championship game the last 2 years.
Going to the game on Saturday though  Sneaking in a bottle of Captain Mo!!!!!! |
Here's hoping my Spartans pull off a huge upset win over the Nittany Lions in E.L. today. It would place us probably in a slightly better bowl than where we would be if we ended up 6-6 with a loss today, and would also pretty much ensure no BCS bid for Penn St.
Would like to see UConn stick it to Notre Dame today. Thus putting the final nail in Charlie Weis' coffin.
Tate Forcier might be the worst QB ever.
I love Tate Forcier. And I love Rich Rodriguez. Both have made me so happy.
Charlie Weiss can pick up his commemorative "Next Cleveland Browns Offensive Coordinator T-Shirt" on the way out of the building..
lol wow, fuckin unbelievable. UCONN???????????????
