God damnit, man. RIP.

Juan 12-04-2009 08:07 PM

Man this fucking sucks.

RIP

LuigiD 12-04-2009 08:12 PM

damn..that is fucking crazy. I came home from the library and checked TPWW only to find those crappy ass news. I went to eat dinner, came back and he is gone. RIP.

RGWhat316 12-04-2009 08:13 PM

Kinda tough to hear about what was going on just a few hours ago, then almost have to wait for the news. Really sad to hear. My prayers go out to the family of The Saaaaamoan Bulldozer, Umaga! RIP to Eddie Fatu.

NeanderCarl 12-04-2009 08:13 PM

He shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary him, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember him.

R.I.P. Oooooooomaga

Team Sheep 12-04-2009 08:17 PM

RIP Umaga :(

I was just gonna say though as soon as I heard about this, WWE dodged a bullet here by firing him when they did. Sad but true. :$

Innovator 12-04-2009 08:36 PM

RIP Umanga

Xero 12-04-2009 08:51 PM

Heard about this from HS.

RIP Umaga. :(

Tazz Dan 12-04-2009 08:53 PM

:'(

RIP

Xero 12-04-2009 08:55 PM

Really, I thought Umaga was pretty great. The man got a cartoon gimmick over pretty damn well in a believable way. In today's landscape that's pretty rare. He was also really good in the ring. Umaga vs Cena from the Rumble was a damn good brawl.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-04-2009 09:08 PM

Three minutes and he's outta here. :'(

Schlomey 12-04-2009 09:29 PM

gutted just don't cut it tonight fellas :(

kareru 12-04-2009 09:42 PM

another wrestler gone guys, this happens far to often for my liking

Schlomey 12-04-2009 09:54 PM

But what do you plan to do about it is the question!!!??!!

Lock Jaw 12-04-2009 10:07 PM

Damn. RIP Umaga. He was really the first "monster" character since Kane's original run that I could really get behind and enjoy watching.

Schlomey 12-04-2009 10:13 PM

His LMS match with John Cena totally made me love and respect him. That was his best match...and possibly Cena's

screech 12-04-2009 10:15 PM

God dammit

RIP Umanga :(

This is what kind of world we live in now. Sad.

LONG LIVE THE SAMOAN BULLDOZER........ UUUUUUUUUMAGA!!!!!!

Hush. They mentioned him, which they didn't have to do, and in this case even mentioning him is probably not good for them. This isn't a new low, and I don't suppose we can hold off bitching about WWE for a while, given someone's dead....

Droford 12-04-2009 10:36 PM

For whatever reason Im just ..meh..

and I was kinda upset over Test's death so I mean..this is kinda wierd.

Stealth-Icon 12-04-2009 11:10 PM

I missed having Umaga on TV bulldozing and spiking through people. RIP Umaga!! You will be missed.

Mr. JL 12-04-2009 11:46 PM

R.I.P. Umaga

PorkSoda 12-04-2009 11:56 PM

omg. RIP Umaga.

I haven't been paying much attention, but did Umaga get released from WWE or is he still under contract?

People's deaths just come out of nowhere. Seriously....this is a shocker.

Xero 12-05-2009 12:01 AM

Umaga was released a while ago. If I remember correctly, he refused rehab.

He was recently working the Hulkamania tour in Australia. As freaky as it is, his last opponent was Kennedy.

Kennedy is fucking cursed.

PapaGeorgio 12-05-2009 12:02 AM

In regards to the debate about is it respectful to post the release date or not. http://www.wwe.com/ Currently on the WWE mainpage, the top story "UMAGA PASSES" wait for the auto story scroll thing to go to the next story "DISRESPECTING THE DEADMAN"

Xero 12-05-2009 12:03 AM

And then it goes onto shilling merch.

Sounds about right.

TerranRich 12-05-2009 12:42 AM

Gotta love people who don't read threads.

Yes, Umaga was let go about 6 months ago. :)

What, did someone else drop dead after wrestling Kennedy that I hadn't heard about?

I don't care what anyone else says, that is funny as hell.

el bobbo 12-05-2009 01:29 AM

That's pretty damn crass. Someone in the internet marketing/PR department should be punished.

Umaga was always pretty interesting to watch. Really mobile for a big man. Sad that he got addicted to drugs and passed away at such a young age :(

DrA 12-05-2009 01:37 AM

Probably my favorite wrestler of the last few years.

FourFifty 12-05-2009 01:55 AM

Everyman must walk the path that is put in front of him. Eddie Fatu took a darker path and had hope and help along the way. Sadly, the help was ignored....
This sucks, but I'm not going to say that I'm really that sad. He had more than one shot to get clean. Yea, sometimes it's just the sins of our pasts one step behind us (like Eddy and Hawk) but other people do not get the chance to get better soon enough.

Rest in peace, Umaga... And thank you.

Im sorry..but..I dont get that at all.

I know he's dead and all, but I could name 40 wrestlers probably who I would have on a list of favorite wrestlers of the last few years ahead of him. He'd be right ahead of Santino and that surfer dude that was on ECW for a while.

DrA 12-05-2009 02:28 AM

I don't care.

Kalyx triaD 12-05-2009 02:30 AM

Numb to this sort of deal now.

Eddie Guerrero.

Maybe Kennedy just shouldn't wrestle wrestlers with the name Eddie, seems like a bad omen for him.

Real shame about Umaga though, i actually enjoyed him while he was in WWE and was actually thinking about him and some of his moves a few days ago, really weird.

GD 12-05-2009 03:00 AM

R.I.P. Umaga :(

Somebody book Kennedy vs Beefcake, we gotta see if this is a real thing or not.

Tornado 12-05-2009 05:19 AM

RIP Umaga

Can't remember a big man that could move like him.

GD 12-05-2009 06:22 AM

His Intercontinental Championship defense against Jeff Hardy at the Great American Bash was so good.

Oh for crying out loud. It was an unfortunate coincidence. There have probably been a hundred WWE.com headlines calling the Undertaker the Deadman, it's no more insulting than if an ad for Tombstone pizza popped up on the same website reporting a murder.

Super V 12-05-2009 09:27 AM

It is amazing at how the straws are being grasped here just to run down WWE.

That's royally fucked.

I mean, mistakes happen. but seriously, you'd think they would have caught THAT.

addy2hotty 12-05-2009 12:18 PM

Personally, I think there's a bigger insult further down the site.

'Be a Champion of savings' - really rubs it in to these broke wrestlers that can't get a job, even with TNA.

Bastards.

Rammsteinmad 12-05-2009 12:25 PM

R.I.P.

This is really sad, especially coz he was so young.

:(

Stickman 12-05-2009 12:27 PM

Who had him in the pool?

The Gold Standard 12-05-2009 01:11 PM

I was a fan of Umaga because I thought, despite his size, he was very agile. He could do moves other wrestlers half his size couldn't do.

R.I.P. Umaga

#1-norm-fan 12-05-2009 02:23 PM

You know what I find even more ironic than the fact that Umaga's last match, much like Eddy's was against Kennedy?

Tonight Armando Estrada will wrestle in his final match... and it will be againt Kennedy. :wtf:

Kennedy should be afraid to wrestle people. He must feel horrible.

KayfabeMan 12-05-2009 07:32 PM

I had a few dealings with Eddie. He was an alright guy. R.I.P.

RVDmark 12-05-2009 08:12 PM

Wow, really didnt expect to see this on the front page after a week away. So long Umanga you will be missed.

I was looking forward to him coming back at some point too. I'll be honest I found him really bland for quite a while, but towards the end of his most recent WWE tenure I was really enjoying what he was doing. Like has been said before, given the gimmick he got, he did a lot with it. A great talent.

Blue Demon 12-05-2009 08:58 PM

It's unfortunate, he made a good monster heel. It seems the Anoai'i family is becoming the next Von Erich family, albeit they're dying differently.

Droford 12-07-2009 08:13 PM

Theres a store here that sells outdated merchandise and they have a ton of WWE stuff, and one of the items was the huge inflatable Umaga thing that you were supposed to beat up. I almost bought it but they wanted $10 for it and that is about $9 more than what I would pay for it.

You know, I was just at a store that I know has been selling one of those big Umaga statues for like $5. Forgot to look for it.

God I'm a dick. :-\

Mr. C 12-08-2009 11:01 PM

Have CM Punk dicuss the evils of drug abuse, using Umaga as an example of why he has to do what he’s doing. The company that employed him even tried to help him, but he was too set in his ways and wouldn’t accept the help because he was blind to reality. The reality is that Umaga is dead. He died because of all of the drugs that he was taking. Punk and Rikishi get some beef due to Punk disrespecting Umaga, so they have a feud, all the while Punk is hyping up the fact that he doesn’t feel safe on SmackDown with Rikishi returning, until a few weeks down the road, the match is signed for the Royal Rumble.

At some point in the match, Punk goes to get a chair, then hits Rikishi, causing the disqualification, and lays him out.

Punk goes on and recaptures the Intercontinental title. Punk defends the title vs. Rikishi, and Rikishi becomes Intercontinental Champion. Punk spends the next several weeks trying to regain the title, culminating in a title shot at WrestleMania. The match is no disqualification. During the match, Luke Gallows comes down to help Punk. Punk steals the victory and wins the title.

RVDmark 12-09-2009 09:14 AM

I'd just like to point out at this juncture that people who dont take drugs die of heart attacks too.

Can we get off the drugs bandwagon for a second and wait for, i dunno, some scientific proof?

Sixx 12-09-2009 09:22 AM

It's even mentioned on a Polish news site, which is weird.

Dante69 12-09-2009 12:02 PM

Kennedy need to have a 4 way match with Shawn Michaels,Triple H and John Cena....Then the WWE would be such a better place

NeanderCarl 12-09-2009 09:58 PM

What a disgusting thing to say.

NeanderCarl 12-09-2009 09:58 PM

Leave HBK out of this!

Xero 12-09-2009 10:06 PM
