If he is a friend worth keeping as a friend, then he will understand if you want to get a better singer. Nobody is saying "Hey go tell him to get the fuck out" (well, some people might be saying that).

But come on.. if your band wants to be taken seriously, and if you want PEOPLE (not just people here.. but come on, everyone here has quite VARYING tastes, and all seem to conclude that he sucks) to take your band seriously, then you've got to find a new singer.

Don't do it "Because a bunch of people on a message board told you". Do it for the music.

Know nothing about music, the lead singer appears to be somebody who you got from the crowd because the original guy was sick.

Yeah Penner and me are homescrizzles, probably more chill than we were before, we just chill in different crowds (that tend to intermingle more and more these days).
