JamesSteele, do you ever think that maybe you glorifying everything Triple H ever does actually does damage to the truly awesome Triple H moments in wrestling history?
|
It's his gimmick Narc, let the lad be.

Yeah, thought I'd give him a chance not to be a TPWW cartoon character. I don't think he's going to take it.

Well, there's another joke you've never gotten, apparently.

I've never quite gotten why you simply can't discuss something without turning into King of the Spazzoids. It's a remarkable transformation process though, I'll give you credit for that.

Not to sound like a James Steele fan boy, but he only goes all HHH crazy as a joke most of the time, for his own amusement. He does actually have some good normal input a lot of the time.

Seriously, is it not that obvious? OH WAIT, I bet it has something to do with self-important cocksuckers not getting the joke over their own overvalued opinion! |
Nobody is attacking anybody. You make these wild claims all the time that can't really be supported, of course people are going to call you on them. Wrestlemania 18 was by far the worst main event of that era and it is widely known to be that. I myself, think it's a little underrated by most interpretations, but it is FAR from what you're making it out to be. The main event suffered horribly from lack of build and from the fact the the WM18 mid-card trounced and overshadowed it. Not to mention, Jericho was never really taken seriously as the champion in the first place because there was an extreme lack of build going to him winning the belt (Not to mention that he cheated in EVERY title defense. Not that I'm against that but it definitely took away from his "big match" legitimacy)
All the pieces are there guy, put them together and don't frown too much on the fact that you'll be the very last one to do it. Like I said, I think that the ME is actually a bit underrated because of the way that they managed to do alot with what they had to work with, but that can't change the fact that it was just thrown together and was sloppy as fuck as a whole. |
lol Narc. You're making yourself sound worse than JS by taking him seriously. Stop now.
|
It would have better match if Hogan had been in his prime but even years past it i'd say this match is right up there in my top 5 maybe but off all time hell no.
|
What? Why does it matter if he's acting like an idiot on accident or purposely being an idiot? An idiot is an idiot.
This "playing into his trap" deal is ridiculous. He made a claim, let's hear him back it up. I'll never be able to take him seriously, that boat sailed a long time ago. Let's at least hear him try to explain these wild claims that he's going on about. When I amuse myself by asking him to explain "I'm making myself sound worse", but when he does it he's some sort of instigative genius? I hardly think so. Come off of it, Dan. |
There was a buildup of Jericho as champion. He did win in chickenshit heel ways, BUT HE WAS A CHICKENSHIT HEEL! I still remember going nuts when Jericho told off The Rock. The Rock was cutting a typical promo about how The Rock was going to beat Jericho and go on to WrestleMania yada yada. Jericho cut him off and cut a passionate promo about how he won't be walked over. He is the Undisputed Champion and etc. Yeah, he did the "evil ref" thing with Neil Patrick but it worked.
Then they had an excellent build-up to No Way Out where Jericho went over Stone Cold Steve Austin. Jericho was established as a heel champion, and then they logically fused with the Stephanie/HHH divorce storyline. Were there elements that were not great, yes, but there were far from the abomination so many of you make it out to be. Everybody knew Triple H was going to win, but that wasn't the point. If you bitched about every predictable WrestleMania main event...you'd bitch about almost every one of them. Then, we go to WrestleMania and they put on an awesome match. Yes, the crowd was worn out but Jericho and HHH put on a great match. I have never understood everybody shitting on the entire thing like it is equal to the Gimmick Battle Royal on the greatness scale. Nothing could have followed Rock/Hogan in terms of crowd involvement/etc. but it was worthy of a WrestleMania main event and there was no doubt going in that HHH/Y2J was the main event. Rock/Hogan shocked people with Hogan getting that reaction. The match was staring contests mixed in with typical punch exchanges and finisher paloozas. It certainly was a moment frozen in time, but you can't tell me a majority of wrestling fans around the world completely shit on Triple H coming back from career-threatening injuries to come back become Undisputed Champion. |
Yeah, but he doesn't take it seriously. The only reason he plays the dick is because people expect him to. It's no different to Kane Knight being a sarcastic prick most of the time.

The original claim from you was the the main event of Wrestlemania 18 was better than the Rock/Hogan contest, which is why I took this argument with you in the first place. Now you're saying that nothing could've followed it.
|
And you overselling what actually happened during the build-up for that match doesn't change what actually happened and how the fans took the whole angle/buildup.

Or could it be that you just refuse to give any credit to the buildup or match because "evil Triple H" won and Stephanie was involved? |
