A pity not many listen to Goldust though.

Lock Jaw 08-11-2010 06:37 PM

I think what we all really want to know about Goldust is if he is nude under that costume?

thedamndest 08-11-2010 06:37 PM

Duke "The Dumpster" Droese was the first person to beat Triple H.

I would, if I were him.

Once again, Bret outdoes Shawn.

When wrestlers come out and attack people when the lights go out...are they kayfabe hiding under the ring or running down the ramp?

Obviously not.

Or possibly coming through the crowd?

Supreme Olajuwon 08-11-2010 07:07 PM

After ripping the padding off the top turnbuckle and exposing the steel underneath, why do wrestlers wait till the refs back is turned before they use it to their advantage? Surely this is not a DQ'able offense when ramming your opponent into the ring post is perfectly legal.

Seems dangerous if they do it any way but hiding.

Also, if they are underneath the ring they could be getting their eyes oriented for when the lights shut off so they can see what's going on.

They modified a part of the ring so it was a weapon, though. They don't need to modify the ring post.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-11-2010 07:11 PM

that is an unsatisfactory answer and I don't accept it

VSG 08-11-2010 07:11 PM

One of The Fraze's youtube videos showed Taker calmly walking into the ring from the ramp and leaving the ring later when it goes all dark. But I guess for bigger venues when the ramp is longer, he would be under the ring.

Vastardikai 08-11-2010 07:35 PM

Sometimes, props are used to sneak people under the ring. (Caskets, anyone?)

Volare 08-11-2010 08:55 PM

I've always wondered if WWE had some sort of contract with a hotel chain, rent-a-car place etc. for the road trips.

Huh, how bout that.

I wonder how much the WWE pays a local jobber.

They did, back in the 70s when they bought them. These days, you can get them off Craigslist for "Handjob or best offer."

Would you want to use easily damaged LCD monitors in those "destroy the table" spots?

Yeah, which is why the Punjabi Prison match puzzled me so. It seemed like an obvious step back.

So why do wrestlers act candidly so often? Clearly, the backstage cameras are addressed within the show, so they're aware of them, so what's the deal?

Gertner 08-11-2010 11:17 PM

Why is it, when a pitcher makes an error which causes a run to be scored, that it doesn't count against his era? It makes no sense!

rated rjo 08-12-2010 12:16 AM

Why did they get rid of Smackdown's old set? At least it made them look different from Raw. That fist was awesome.

He's actually one of the more active wrestlers on there.

I just tweeted him about being #7 on team WWE cause he was Seven back in WCW.

we shall see if he replies..

GD 08-12-2010 04:53 AM

There was a brief period of time (before the transition to HD) when the Raw set had a ramp, whereas the Smackdown set didn't. I miss the fist though :-\

Cool King 08-12-2010 05:46 AM

I think that was due to The Undertaker being on SmackDown.

SmackDown had a ramp when The Undertaker had his "Biker Gimmick" but when he returned to his "Deadman Gimmick" the ramp disappeared.

I think that was so it would be safe for him to get to the ring without falling off the ramp due to the darkness or slipping on the ramp due to the dry ice smoke.

Or maybe both.

VSG 08-12-2010 09:09 AM

How has that changed now then?

I don't think that was a very big concern.

Volare 08-12-2010 10:52 AM

Taker could fall off of the ramp and it would still be someone else's fault no matter what.

Xero 08-12-2010 10:53 AM

*Taker gets to the back*

Taker: WHO THE FUCK SWEAT ON THE RAMP!?

Volare 08-12-2010 10:56 AM

Exactly.

Schlomey 08-12-2010 11:29 AM

I like it when tag team wrestlers use the hand rope. I dunno...It takes me back to a better time in Professional tag team wrestling. I HATE when it just dangles there and they don't use it as the prop...

Xero 08-12-2010 11:33 AM

I remember when they brought them back and everyone went apeshit for them.

I miss when they'd use them to choke their opponents behind the ref's back.

Schlomey 08-12-2010 11:37 AM

tag team wrestling is an ARTFORM that very few workers today seem to grasp. In TNA both Beer Money and MCMG have "it" as far as tag team wrestling goes.

In WWE I can't even think of 1 tag team apart from Hart Dynasty that really shows they understand how to work a vintage emotional tag team match.

I do like Vance Archer and Kurt Hawkins over on Smackdown as they do show some tandem moves that nobody else is doing which I appreciate. ....but loook where they are. Not on TV....ever.

We wish gravity the best in its future endeavours.

Xero 08-12-2010 11:38 AM

That's more a matter of booking than the wrestlers I think. Tag team wrestling has been lost. That's something TNA should be capitalizing on. MCMG/Beer Money has been great, but they should build up a great tag division around them.

Schlomey 08-12-2010 11:43 AM

I said that in my last review of TNA. They need a niche and they really should expand on this tag team thing while it is lightning hot.

Schlomey 08-12-2010 11:46 AM

Motor City Machine Guns
Beer Money
AJ Styles & Kazarian
Ink, inc.
Team 3D

Hire Paul London and get Londrick back together.

Get Amazing Red a tag parner.

I say X Division and tag team wrestling should be their focus.

And with all the talent they got, they could easily consider it an "economic" solution to keeping people on TV.
