I liked this and I don't really like most superhero movies, even some of the highly regarded ones like Iron Man, but I thought this was good. There was a lot to squeeze in, but Branagh did a good job of putting the whole thing together, making it fun and giving it it's own identity.

Roger Ebert hated this

I really liked this. I grew up on fantasy films and this struck a chord with me. I can't help but feel they should have had more Asgard scenes in it. Chris Hemsworth is totally Thor, I'm talking Chris Reeves/Superman stuff here. I didn't expect to like him so much. Jamie Alexander/Lady Sif should have had more scenes, she's so pretty.

Loki, Loki, Loki... On one hand I really liked him... but I feel like he could have played his role less obvious at least until he 'comes out' in the middle. He has potential to be a very complicated villain, not that he's bad. I don't expect him to be Joker/Hannibal status but he should have had more to 'say', I guess. It seems he set his xanatos gambit before he knew about his true lineage, which kinda cheapens him. I figure his descent into madness should start after the first clue in the first battle. Then again he was always jealous of Thor and blah blah.

Seeing what Thor can do; hard to imagine he'd need a team. Interesting to see how Avengers justifies this. I mean he rolls with Sif and the Warrior's Three, so he does acknowledge help, I guess. But damn he summons hurricanes and shit...

Really liked the movie. The SHIELD stuff felt tacked on. He's like, "Give her stuff back and we'll be friends now I gotta go do GOD stuff."

Seriously he doesn't need a fucking team.

They said theyre having them take on a gigantic threat with an alien invasion, instigated by loki... id say thats a lot for thor by himself

Jus sayin... Hurricanes on demand. Stark shoots lasers, Cap throws a metal frisbee, don't get me started on the archer.

Only person on his level is Nick Fury, because he is Sam Jackson.

Always felt that way about "god" characters.
I remember when Thor came back and fought Iron Man. That was easily one of the best comics I have ever read. I remember Thor #600 when Thor alone just wipes out the entire Dark Avengers.

hulk

Sir Reavant is correct.

Thor's power level has been a bit inconsistent throughout the years though. At times, he would get knocked down by some of the avengers' crummier villains, while in his own book he was singlehandedly taking on Galactus or the celestials.
