Fuckin Steele.

Londoner 05-04-2011 03:01 AM

What the flying fuck.

Londoner 05-04-2011 03:08 AM

Where they go with this and how it plays off on tv is what's important now, but i don't have a good feeling about it. :(

KIRA 05-04-2011 03:44 AM

With Cena back as Champ, the Christian title run aborted and given to Orton, CM Punk floating in obscurity and on his way out, Sheamus and DBD being ignored and Wade Barrett basically just being left to rot. I'm pretty much inclined to go back to what I was doing between 2005-2010 reading results, watching if something catches my eye and yeah (which nothing really did until Nexus). Back to not watching I guess, ah well got a good 8 months out of it.

A good 8 months of bitching*

James Steele 05-04-2011 05:20 AM

Great. Does this mean you will quit posting again, Lara?

#BROKEN Hasney 05-04-2011 05:58 AM

Bring back Tomko, turn heel and fuck the title. I might actually watch Smackdown for entertainment value for once.

#1-norm-fan 05-04-2011 06:09 AM

I prefer Christian with the title. But Orton as champ on Smackdown is fresh. The main event scene on Smackdown is miles more creative than the one on Raw. I think this could make Orton interesting again.

Corporate CockSnogger 05-04-2011 06:19 AM

Just read this on another spoiler site, dunno how legit it is though

"Orton celebrated and left after the match. Christian sat in the ring dejected as the fans chanted for him. After he went to the back, Orton returned to remind everyone that when they go home, remember he is the new World champion"

Does anyone else think that it sounds like Orton might be the one turning?

#BROKEN Hasney 05-04-2011 06:24 AM

If Orton turns though, Christian is the de-facto top face. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I can't see else in that role with Orton being heel. Unless they push Khali again.

The title win by Orton makes Christian’s World Title reign one of the shortest in WWE history at just two days.
I thought Kane's world title reign makes it the shortest in history?
Remember Kane beat Austin in a first blood match, then the following night 24 hours later Austin took his belt back on Raw :S...

Oh I agree that it doesn't seem to fit that they would turn Randy heel and leave Christian as the top face. Maybe it was just the way that report was worded.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-04-2011 06:28 AM

Maybe they'll do it right and just push Orton as an arrogant bad-ass face. Screw the heelish beard, it would still work.

I feel honoured.

Well, not really.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-04-2011 08:03 AM

WWE Bookers: the greatest heat machines of all time.

Rock Bottom 05-04-2011 08:15 AM

Thought Yoko had the shortest title reign anyway. Oh well.

I'm more disappointed that they blew a wad on Orton and Christian on a spoiler show. I would have liked to see that match in a PPV.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-04-2011 08:22 AM

Yeah Yoko, Andre, Cena, Ziggler, and Jeff Hardy all had 0 day reigns.

The Jayman 05-04-2011 08:23 AM

I have no comment

Schlomey 05-04-2011 08:23 AM

Christian pulled a Kane!? Not happy....

But lets talk about Chavo going face shaking Cara's hand...that's a headline.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-04-2011 08:23 AM

Oh and Orton and Triple H did too.

erickman 05-04-2011 08:38 AM

so he was kaned, i heard a few years ago vince did not think he was right for a big push. this proves vince will never let him run with the ball.

Nark Order 05-04-2011 08:39 AM

I STILL REMEMBER

VSG 05-04-2011 08:58 AM

"Getting Kaned" is now a TPWW Fraze.

Schlomey 05-04-2011 09:03 AM

I shed a tear last night while finally getting to watch the PPV. This taints but doesn't totally ruin that moment :(

After having a night to think about it, it really just set in how brutally booked the main event scene has been in the last 2 years. I keep hearing about "creating new stars" and I just don't see it. I don't think this would be that of a deal if it was just Christian, but it's not. Most of the time somebody gets close to the main event, the WWE yanks it from them.

-Over the past two years we've had Mark Henry going over huge against Orton in his Raw return, looking like the next big thing, then absolutely nothing was done to capitalize and he became a jobber to the stars
-Kofi Kingston looked like he was going to be huge during his feud with Orton, with the MSG beatdown, and going over both Punk and Orton at Survivor Series, then he lost the blow-off and disappeared.
-Sheamus came in like a house of fire, winning the title twice and establishing himself as a top heel on Raw, only to go on a losing streak and pretty much become just another midcarder.
-Swagger won the title, beat Orton mostly cleanly, was feuding with the Big Show, then the vegetative state storyline took over and he ended up fighting Chris Masters on Superstars a bunch of times.
-Wade Barrett was the centerpiece of the biggest, most promising storyline WWE has done in years, and around November Barrett vs Cena looked like it could easily headline Wrestlemania. Then the Nexus were promptly made to look like huge jokes who never had a chance of playing with the big boys, the Corre looked even worse, and Barrett ended up wrestling a 90 second 8 man tag.
-They can still right the ship with Alberto Del Rio, but it's close to sailing. His opening feud with Rey was a logical starting point and the subsequent buildup to his "destiny" was brilliantly done. But where is he after Mania and Extreme Rules? Right back where he started, feuding with Rey again. The eventual Cena/Del Rio feud can be fun, and finally winning the belt would help to solidify him as a solid main eventer even if he loses it back within a few months. But it seems like Cena is bound to hold the belt until close to Mania to build to the Cena/Rock match potentially being for the title.

About the only bona fide main event success story that comes to mind in the last couple of years is The Miz. If nothing else, he'll always have a lengthy WWE Title reign and a WM main event (and win) under his belt. But even at that, I can't help but wonder what they will do with him once his feud with Cena ends.

I'm not saying these guys would have made it to the Orton/Cena elite level, but there is no reason why a few of them couldn't be viewed as legitimate main eventers who could be believably plugged into the WWE or WHW title pictures on a dime. Because the WWE has incredibly cold feet, none of them were given the chance to sink or swim. Now I haven't seen SmackDown yet obviously, and I don't know what the plans are for the next week/month are, but history suggests that Christian had his cup of coffee with the title and will be shunted back to the midcard.

I understand that Cena and Orton are the two most over guys in the company, and I'm fine with them nearly always being in the title picture. But those reports of WWE wanting to fill the voids left by Taker and Triple H just seems like a total crock. It seems that WWE feel that since Cena and Orton are 34 and 31, respectively - there are still plenty of miles in the tank and thus there is no need to try and create any legitimate main eventers. There may not be a proper influx of new main eventers until they are getting close to retiring.

And that ends a rare "Noid post" from me.

Brigstocke 05-04-2011 10:01 AM

Has anyone considered the idea that Christian may have had a 'major title' clause in his contract and will now leave?

Thus making my pick of him on the Pink Slip Pool a stroke of genius.

Schlomey 05-04-2011 10:03 AM

I actually read that entire thing. Agree mostly.
