They have stopped doing shows in the Impact zone because it's called the Impact WRESTLING Zone now.

Yeah, I agree 100% here.

Really? That seems rather forced...

Mr. JL 05-16-2011 12:52 AM

So, are they really Impact Wrestling now? No longer Total Nonstop Action... TNA

Even though they are advertised as TNA and all their belts say TNA and all their fans chant TNA?

As of right now the company is still Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling. Impact Wrestling is just the new name of their SpikeTV Show.

Hogan's twitter seemed to be in error or they changed their mind on changing the name of the company.

FearedSanctity 05-16-2011 04:54 AM

From what I've read, they're split on the idea. Some want a permanent switch to IW and some want to keep TNA. I guess Hogan's Twitter comments just show which side he's on

Either way the plan is to slowly phase out using TNA over the next few months

Londoner 05-16-2011 05:05 AM

Was really hoping to read positive comments in this thread, but once again, TNA lets me down! :(

Jordan 05-16-2011 05:35 AM

Solid if unspectacular show, but I enjoyed the focus on wrestling.

I honestly can't tell if you are being serious or not.

The only tweet I saw from Hogan was "no more TNA Impact, now Impact Wrestling" or something along those lines, suggesting that the show's name is changed and not the company. Did he tweet anything else?

I don't doubt anything you've said, because I've heard the same things. Just wondering.

Went to this last night. Some of the stuff was ok, the other stuff not so much. Chyna looked terrible in the ring. She should have at least practiced a bit before the match. I was mostly amused since at one point some guy ran by me carrying his gf who was bleeding. That got my attention more than some of the matches.

Mr. JL 05-16-2011 01:01 PM

I thought Sting vs RVD was getting good, and then they just ended the match. If those two had of carried on for 10 more minutes hitting some big moves, false finish and maybe a scorpion deathlock spot it would have been really good.

Does Sting have it in his contract that he is not allowed to go passed the 15 minute mark or something?

CSL 05-16-2011 01:04 PM

a lot of TNA PPV mains end out of the blue/anti-climatically, they're a baffling company at times

Schlomey 05-16-2011 01:11 PM

CSL is correct. I have noticed that a LOT of the time with TNA PPV's where the main event match is just sub par with an anti-climactic finish. I'm all for the main event to be a "clean" match but for NOTHING above average to happen is a sham.

Yeah, the match was getting good. They wrestled inthe ring for about 8 minutes and then took it to the outside for 5 minutes or so fighting in the crowd and then they just kind of roll back in the ring and do the finish.

Xero 05-16-2011 01:43 PM

They were clearly pressing for time. After the match they wanted to do the Anderson angle but they flashed the trademark thing.

So it was probably more of a timing issue. It did seem to end abruptly.

The Pope 05-16-2011 03:03 PM

I agree with Xero about the timing thing. I noticed they hurried to get to the Beer Money vs Harris and Hardy match. Brother Ray/Bully Ray took too damn long during his promo. He took like 3 to 4 minutes i think.

St. Jimmy 05-16-2011 04:19 PM

Fans chanted "This is awesome" during both the AJ/Dreamer Hardcore Clusterfuck, and the Main Event.

But chanted "This is Boring" during the X Division Match. :?:

Seriously. The same 1,000 people show up for every event. Eventually they're gonna catch on that they're doing the same things over and over. I know they're mutants but their brains do technically function.

Going to Lockdown was a lot of fun. Way more fun than ever watching TNA on tv. And 4,000 fans in an arena is way more credible than 1,000 fans at a sound stage. They gotta branch out.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-16-2011 06:18 PM

WHAT

Just learned that the Impact Zone is the same sound stage where they used to film GUTS.

How have they not incorporated the Aggro Crag into a match yet?

Gertner 05-16-2011 07:03 PM

It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't such douchebags. They piss on everything, even though IT"S A FUCKING FREE SHOW!

Xero 05-16-2011 07:32 PM

What? They don't piss on everything. There are at least 5 chants of any combination of "this is awesome", "holy shit" or "this is wrestling" on every show.

Nah, that was it I believe, but you have the wording wrong. He didn't say "no more TNA Impact, now Impact Wrestling" it was actually "No TNA. only IMPACT"

Really only a slight wording difference, but I believe the meaning changes with it

So to start off the "new" Impact Wrestling era, TNA have a 5 match show consisting of 2 Knockouts matches, a match lasting one minute and Bischoff scoring a pin over Generation Me (shut up, you don't care)

HOT START

Supreme Olajuwon 05-17-2011 02:48 AM

ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE IMPACT WRESTLING

Where's thier World Heavyweight Champion on the show? I see no mention of Sting or Mr. Kennedy his opponent for their main event next Pay Per View.
