Yes.

loopydate 09-07-2011 02:07 PM

Didn't post yesterday for the announcement of Ben Muth, a former college football star who trained with Lance Storm.

But today felt worthy of a new post. The 13th member of the WRP roster is...

Amazing Red!

Mr. Nerfect 09-07-2011 06:23 PM

The signings of Ben Muth (Football star trained by Lance Storm? Come on!) and Prince Devitt has definitely gotten my attention. Excited to see how this project goes.

loopydate 09-07-2011 11:00 PM

How would you describe Muth? All I'm getting from Google is Stanford, retired due to injury, and trained with Lance Storm. Did he do something else I'm missing?

Mr. Nerfect 09-08-2011 05:08 AM

That's essentially it. Hey -- if you trained with Lance Storm, you're alright with me.

It makes a little more sense now, since today they announced that Lance Storm is one of the "producers." I'm not sure if they mean that in a funding way, or in that he's actually helping the talent train, prepare for matches, etc. Still, very interesting.

What Would Kevin Do? 09-09-2011 03:11 PM

By the way, this reminds me a lot of Wrestling Society X the more I think about it. I'm hoping it takes the good from WSX (unique characters/backgrounds) and gets rid of the bad (over produced, horrible special effects, etc.)

Gertner 09-09-2011 03:29 PM

Horrible announcing as well.

Mr. Nerfect 09-09-2011 07:35 PM

Yeah, Lance Storm being a "producer" for this is definitely a good thing. I am growing more and more excited by this project. Hopefully it takes off. There is a part of me that is still hopeful Paul Heyman is involved, somehow, too. Heyman and MVP were at one point rumoured to be hopping into bed together after discussing a "different" wrestling project. Even if they just get Paul to be a color commentator on the show, I will be very happy.

loopydate 09-09-2011 08:57 PM

I can't remember if I already posted this, but the first TV tapings will be October 11-13 in Hollywood. Very excited about this whole thing. I really wish I was on the west coast. For many reasons, but at the moment I wish I didn't live on the opposite side of the country from this.

GD 09-10-2011 01:05 AM

These cheap bastards did an interview with the guy behind WRP

This looks pretty mint... Anything with Kenny Omega I am in!

loopydate 09-14-2011 07:04 AM

Didn't get a chance to post this yesterday, but Joey Ryan is in.

weather vane 09-14-2011 12:46 PM

Dr. Luthur? Wow...

Evil Vito 09-14-2011 08:00 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Shawn Spears is in.</font>

What happens if someone gets injured?

It probably wouldn't be that hard to work around. It's being made like a tv show, so I'm sure they have contingency/editing plans. Plus, I really doubt it's going to be as spotty/head droppy as some shows.

Anybody Thrilla 09-15-2011 12:13 AM

I blew my back out for 2 weeks from a sneeze once, sooooo....

Lock Jaw 09-15-2011 12:36 AM

If you get injured, your character gets killed off by TERRORISTS.

Anybody Thrilla 09-15-2011 12:39 AM

It would be funny if all of the characters had understudies just in case. Like if Ezekiel Jackson was injured, Ezekiel Jackson would be played by Ahmed Johnson the following week.

GD 09-15-2011 04:01 AM

Some people shall get to sit on VIP dinning tables.

loopydate 09-22-2011 03:18 PM

Roster updated through Thursday 9/22. Curious as to what role Adam Pearce is going to play, whether or not they'll acknowledge that he's the NWA Champion.

loopydate 09-23-2011 07:23 PM

Tommy Dreamer joined Lance Storm today as a producer for WRP.

Mr. Nerfect 09-24-2011 08:27 PM

I kind of hope that Adam Pearce brings out the NWA World Heavyweight Championship with him.

Evil Vito 10-15-2011 12:17 PM

<font color=goldenrod>This has started taping. Prince Devitt reportedly got pulled out by New Japan. HOWEVER in his stead they have added Chris Hero AND Chris Masters.

Here are some notes on various characters:

SPOILER: show
Most of the guys are doing their indy shtick but with a different name. Pearce is still an old school shit-heel but named Ridgeway, Rollins is still a psychopath but is named Murder, Shawn Daivari is still Daivari but named Ferris Gotch, etc. The different characteristics for talent are as follows:
- Colt Cabana's character is a HEEL. A cocky, failed stand-up comedian known as Punchline. It's different but good stuff from Colt.
- Babyface Joey Ryan has the pleasure of having Trisha LaFache as his valet. Joey is more interesting as Chase Walker than he is as Joey Ryan.
- Red wrestles in a mask.
- Kevin Matthews is a Hollywood Douchebag that texts while he wrestles.
- Emil Sitoci is a German Nihilist.
- Dr. Luther is a pseudo-Satanic priest (think Mordecai from WWE, but better performed).
- There is an evil stock market investor tag team known as "Satanic and Profitable" aka "S&P" consisting of Sami Callihan and Alex Zikos.
- There is a tag team consisting of Shaun Ricker and Brian Cage-Taylor known as the John-turage (Entourage with two guys named John) that is accompanied by their bodyguard BRICK SHITHOUSE.
- BRICK SHITHOUSE got more chants than anybody except for enhancement talent Dave the Bruiser.

Can't wait for this.</font>

Kapoutman 10-15-2011 12:23 PM

BRICK SHITHOUSE is an awesome wrestling name. Kinda wish I had thought of that.

SPOILER: show
Yes! Been waiting for that gimmick to come along! Douchebag who tweets/texts during his matches. Thought The Miz was gonna start it, when he one time tweeted a picture of Alex Riley beating on John Cena mid-match. It was not to be, though.

Random Insert I got to meet Adam Pearce at the NWA Houston show last Friday. Nice guy, had one of the most entertaining spots I have seen possibily ever.

Rammsteinmad 10-16-2011 01:38 PM

Just a heads-up to you guys, I've met Emil Sitoci quite a few times, and he is an incredible talent. Easily one of the biggest rising-stars in the Dutch/German/European wrestling scene.

Mr. Nerfect 10-17-2011 04:42 AM

I saw Emil Sitoci on the website, and the dude just looks and reads like a star. Personally, I think the WWE will pick him up once this WRP thing concludes. I could see Ben Muth using it as a stepping stone to the WWE, too. Come on? A big dude trained by Lance Storm?

Hanso Amore 10-17-2011 11:01 AM

so when and how does one watch this?

FearedSanctity 10-17-2011 12:10 PM

I'd read it was going to be on Netflix, though I don't know when
