Sounds pretty decent and the trailers aren't too bad, might download it or something.
|
I would download it but I sorta want to see it in theaters.

The Day After Tommorrow STARRING The Special Effects Team of ILM |
This film is getting some bad reviews, but I think I'll still go see it... Disaster flicks are hit and miss, but the hits are usually pretty great..

Also LOL @ whoever said it might actually happen. |
Saw it last night with some friends. The special effects were fuckin AMAZING, the acting was alright, the plot was what you could expect from this type of movie (shallow). There was one part they really could have done without though, and anyone who saw the movie probably knows what I mean.
|
It was so predictable really. There I was last night with the choice of seeing this or Troy. I chose TDAT and I regretted it. Nothing hapened that after seeing it you wouldn't say Uh huh. The graphics? Sure they were ok, but you expected that too. What I don't understand is why the wolves were CGI. That was dumb.

Anyways, as you could expect, the movie was pretty identical to independance day, but change aliens to natural disasters. |
As you can see
|
There were also 3 helicopters that crashed, much like in independance day, and there was the scientist who had a theory that the presidential office didn't believe. Just realized those two right now
|
lol @ the similarities.
I had no problems with the wolves in general, they're role in the movie was a simple filler, a small sub sub sub plot. Movies should have a lot of those kind of things IMO, but the CGIing of them was just stupid. |

Oh and something always happens in New York in Ronald's movies.
|
It was alright and I agree with Buzzkill about "the scene" not being necessary.
|
Oh yah people took alot of pictures like in godzilla
|
The scene wasn't necessary, but if every scene had to be necessary, then movies would lack. I'm not defending this movie, because I felt it was a let down.
Great directors can make the fluff necessary. The distractions become a vehicle that moves the story always forward. That's when you're watching a great film. However fluff should still be allowed to be a dead ender. At least from my perspective. |
utter utter piece of shit. Horrible acting, and I'm not one to judge films by their acting usually.
The only thing that saved this film for me was the couple of Manchester United references, but then I'm kind of upset our name is lent to this POS. Also, the English accents are horrible. |
and Emmy Rossum is hot, but that's about it.
|
was that Peter Parker as the son?
|
I thought the Dad was hilarious. All his lines were horrible.

I saw it tonight. Didn't think it was awful...but it wasn't good. Sort of just...eh. A lot of it is just laughable (walking from DC to NY in freezing weather?! in what, like a day? :wtf: ) But it had some entertainment value which is all it was meant to be, could have been shorter though.
Quaid is the man, too bad he doesn't quite choose the best scripts. :-\ |
I just saw it. IMO, this is the best film of its genre---mostly because alot of the destruction in the previews is nonstop, unlike Deep Impact and Armageddon, and more people are killed, unlike Volcano. What I liked most about it though, was that they didn't try to stop what was happening and just rode it out.

Anyway, saw it tonight. The first half was pretty good and the main girl was hot. Other than that, I've seen much better, and the wolves were absolutely retarded and they were CGI too.

I thought it was ok....kinda wished I had watched Van Hesing or Troy instead but oh well...I was talking to a freind about the wolves being CGI and he was saying that he heard wolves were too unpredictable for real ones to be used...
