I never played DoR 1 but I thought DoR 2 was really good.

It kept me entertained when I played it anyway, so it did it's job for me.

Skippord 05-10-2012 03:15 PM

both DoR's are incredible, created so many dudes and had constant fatal four way hell in a cell matches with them

Kapoutman 05-10-2012 03:15 PM

WWF King of the Ring for Game Boy. Eight characters, the same four moves for everyone. Bodyslam, suplex, dropkick, elbow drop. THAT'S IT. It sucked. I bet there were Tiger handheld games with more variety.

I really wanted KOTR because it was the first game to have create-a-wrestler!

Never got to play it until I could emulate a game boy... Thank fuck I never paid any money for it.

We had an epic fatal four way once. 3 of us on the cell and one guy cowering in the ring because he didn't want to get hurt.

One guy gets up another one in a gorilla press and I spear him. The guy being lifted comes down on me and we all fall through the cell, onto the guy in the ring.

One of those two got up first and pinned the guy that refused to come up and fight. Huge mark out moment.

In Your House was awesome, sir. WrestleMania The Arcade Game's successor.

I'd probably go with Betrayal for a WWF game. Backstage Assault is one of the worst ever, though.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-10-2012 03:30 PM

Loved WM:Arcade, but In Your House felt really flat. Hated the theme stages and fatalities most of all.

This game was awesome. Save the (Billion Dollar) Princess.

Never played In Your House before, so I just checked the fatalities on YouTube. I like the themed stages, but Jesus Christ, Vader's ass in his fatality is ridiculous.

Story mode could be kinda frustrating, though. And boring eventually.

If they'd had better story modes, I'd probably still play them.

Xero 05-10-2012 04:39 PM

The one cool thing about Royal Rumble for Dreamcast/Arcade was that it's had the most wrestlers on-screen at once in any wrestling game that I know of at 9, even including the Fire Pro games.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-10-2012 04:42 PM

I thoroughly enjoyed Royal Rumble.

Kind of wish it never came out on arcade though as the cart space limited the roster. Just making it for Dreamcast would have beefed it up pretty heavily.

Super Wrestlemania for the SNES was the same way in the sense that everyone used the same fucking moves, and the match types were WAY limited. Hated that fucking game, especially when I realized NO ONE had a finish.

Savio 05-10-2012 05:50 PM

Why are we limited to WWE? "ECW Hardcore Revolution" was terrible.

It was, but when I think of terrible I find games that surprised me by being terrible far worse. Acclaim had already run itself into the ground by the time those shit ECW games came out. I expected it to suck, and when it did, was like ehhh, oh well.

The Destroyer 05-10-2012 06:12 PM

Definitely Wrestlemania 18.

itsmeJD 05-10-2012 06:14 PM

I've now got this feeling to go ebay game systems and play these to determine a true winner.

I loved that game...until I found out the Genesis had finishers and I think a couple of other guys the SNES didn't.

I had already played the Genesis, that was the problem. I bought it all excited because it had Hawk and Animal, and realized it sucked donkey dick.

XCaliber 05-10-2012 07:40 PM

I'm appauled at the lack of Wrestlemania 21 it was crap if not for the excellent graphics it would have been a total epic fail.

Gertner 05-10-2012 08:04 PM

WWF RAW 2 for X Box.

I can't talk about it because I never played it. I got the vibe that most people didn't. Therefore, you should be impressed that we had the sense not to play it, rather than disappointed we don't have it on our lists.

For Once, and ONLY once, I agree with this guy.

As for an actual wrestling game though, I still remember WWF Super Wrestlemania as sucking pretty hard.

Cool King 05-10-2012 09:02 PM

I don't get the hate Crush Hour gets. It might have not been fantastic but it's not at bad as some people say it is.

Me personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the game when I was younger and it was something different and refreshing than seeing the wrestlers in their usual ring. Also, the creativity of the game was pretty good too with the arena layouts and especially with the way they managed to capture the characteristics and look of the wrestlers and create a vehicle out of them.

Also, who can forget the Twisty Rockets?

I think it was bad

Shisen Kopf 05-11-2012 01:03 AM

Biggest piece of crap ever. When I was a kid I was so excited to get this bc a game finally had the Undertaker and when I played it. Wow. Total shit. Every rassler has the same moves and there are no finishers. Every match went like this. Punch, Kick, Body Slam, Punch, Punch, Kick, Kick, Bodyslam, pin. Fucking awful.

I enjoyed War Zone. :(

The only problem I had with it was that the grapple button, was the exact same button for picking up weapons. So as a kid, I would sometimes lose my temper when I was playing and went to grapple my opponent, only for me to pick up a TV or a bell and my opponent then kick me in the gut and take full control of the match.

I would then lose.

I enjoyed War Zone as well, my brothers and I played the hell out of that game.
We had an entire federation set up, using both the real wrestlers and our 3-4 memory cards worth of CAWs.

WWF Attitude was a let-down though, they expanded on key parts of War Zone that needed improvement, but then they tried to build on the grappling control scheme and screwed everything up; every match just turned into 'armbar-hammerlock-armbar-punch-kick-armbar'.
The season mode was pretty awful too, whoever felt it was necessary to make you play countless house shows between RAW and PPVs was crazy.

Has to be WrestleMania 21 for XBOX. Every copy belongs in the same heap as all the old Atari E.T. games.

I totally agree, it has to be by far, the worst WWE game in history. The graphics were nice but the gameplay sucked, the story mode was stupid, just overall a horrible game.
