Man in a box has to be my fav AIC track, even just for being Dreamers theme.

It is pretty awesome.

I hate to spoil my celebration thread, because I'm using AIC as ” my band ”, but Bleed The Freak might be my favorite song.

No order ( yet ), but..

Bleed The Freak

Nutshell

Dont Follow

Junkhead ( lyrically, probably one of the best songs ever in the grunge era. He's basically singing about his situation being envious because he's rich, but its actually worse because he's a junky and the worst thing you can do is give a junkie money. Atleast, that's how I interpret it.

The entire Dirt album listens like a cry for help by Layne. Its pretty incredible to just sit, drink and listen too.

I'm not so sure Dirt isn't the greatest album of the grunge era.

No Excuses is my favorite ALice in Chains song. It's not really "grungy" however.

RP 08-04-2012 01:32 AM

No Excuses is from the Jar Of Flies album. Horrendously underrated album. Rotten Apple, Dont Follow, No Excuses, Nutshell, I Stay Away...all on the same album??? That's stupid good.

If you haven't heard Mad Season, get it. Why would you not want to hear a band comprising of Barret Martin from Screaming Trees, Mike Mccready on lead guitar and Layne Staley singing lead? If Mad Season never happened and you asked me some of my dream guitar/lead combos, I guarantee I would say Mccready and Layne.

River of Deceit was the highlight song of the album, but Artificial Red is a song I always play on the box when I'm drinking in some dive.

RP 08-04-2012 01:50 AM

I'm Above is another outstanding song on that album

Sponge was pretty good back in the early-mid 90's, pretty sure they'd be considered a grunge band.

SPOILER: show

There's a guy in my neighborhood who lives with his parents after falling on hard times, he's a stunning clone of Kurt Cobain and every time he walks by my house I go to my iPhone and turn on some grunge. It's like he triggers me to listen to that era and is a good reminder of when music was awesome, there are other genres I fuckin' love too, but I miss that era. Flannel, cook time.

I'm seeing Pearl Jam for the fourth time next month, and they have always been my favorite live band by far. I really enjoy a lot of their newer stuff too.
