Nope, though he is more likely to be at fault. Recent animatics revealed a shelved idea of turning JARVIS evil for the first Avengers. Something happens to JARVIS either in Avengers 2 or some kind of seed we missed in Iron Man 3, or the heel-turn's to come in the remaining Phase 2 movies.

Sixx 08-28-2013 01:56 PM

Hmm, I'm not sure if I like that idea.

I mean, what does he do, somehow suddenly creates a body for himself by modifying some Iron Man armor? Meh.

Also, dunno, I always liked how everyone could blame Pym for Ultron.

Miotch 08-28-2013 01:57 PM

Who would you like to see in the role's of Pietro and Wanda?

Sixx 08-28-2013 01:57 PM

Or do they keep Ultron as a program without a body?

I don't know about Quicksilver, but supposedly the Olsen twin's younger sister Elizabeth is playing the Scarlet Witch.

Miotch 08-28-2013 03:58 PM

Don't hate it. Gonna need a mad effective push up bra though.

Kalyx triaD 08-28-2013 09:43 PM

The dude from Kick-Ass is all but confirmed for the part of Quicksilver. I like it. He's already talking to Whedon about accents and such, he pretty much has the part.

So not clicking that.

Also, no matter how hard I try, I can't picture the kick ass dude as quicksilver.

http://screenrant.com/avengers-2-ult...s-spader-cast/

James Spader is Ultron

Sixx 08-29-2013 12:19 PM

So, Ultron's gonna have a human face?

Ok, let's see how this works out. Although I was hoping for a badass robot.

Miotch 08-29-2013 12:26 PM

I have my doubts of the legitimacy of that article.

Blonde Moment 08-29-2013 12:30 PM

Disappointing

Spader will be doing the voice, doesn't mean they will make Ultron look like him.

Of course, they very well could.

One of those news articles (can't be bothered to click on all of them now) said Ultron would be using Spader's "face and voice".

Lock Jaw 08-29-2013 02:16 PM

Oh, ok. Then maybe they will just spraypaint him silver and add some blinking lights to him.

Fignuts 08-29-2013 04:19 PM

Could be something where they use the classic ultron helmet, with his face inside the huge mouth being formed by that energy effect?

slik 08-29-2013 06:36 PM

I am more of a DC guy so I'm not super-familiar with Ultron so I have to ask:

How is a robot a threat to Thor or Hulk?

He's normally given Adamantium, which I forget the DC equivalent of, but it comprises Wolverine's skeleton, sometimes Captain America's shield, and is virtually indestructible.

His laser blasts also pack quite a punch.

Fignuts 08-29-2013 07:28 PM

He's made of adamantium for one thing. The big threat is his intelligence. He's smarter than any hero in the marvel universe. And he improves himself and gets smarter all the time.

Because of this, There is a long running theme in marvel that no matter what, Ultron eventually wins. We've seen this in alternate futures like the recent Age of Ultron arc.

So yeah, he's a robot, but he's an incredible powerful robot made of I breakable metal that is always making himself stronger and smarter.

The reason Ultron is one of my favorite villains is that he's one of the only villains who can go toe to toe with Thor, yet can still be vulnerable if in a small way, to the less powerful avengers.

That's always been the biggest problem with Avengers. Thor's a character who has gone one on one with Galctus, celestials, and Ego the living Planet. How do you create a villain that can challenge Thor, yet isn't horribly more powerful than the rest of the avengers.

Ultron is usually defeated due to the combination of Thors strength, iron mans intelligence, Caps strategic prowess, unique talents of other members, and of course Ultrons underestimation, and lack of understanding of the human spirit.

That's why I don't like it when he shows up in solo books. It should always take the whole team to beat him.

99% of the time, you opt to write the characters inconsistently.

Kalyx triaD 10-03-2013 02:29 PM

Thanks to Samuel L Jackson, who's Nick Fury seems to have his eye on things lately, we now know that Elizabeth Olsen is indeed Scarlet Witch after hard rumors on the matter. This means the siblings for the sequel are cast and done.

Just so we're clear, only their abilities and relationship will be focused on, not their fatherly relation. That will most likely be explored with Quicksilver in Days of Future Past. It would have been interesting if they cast Aaron in both movies, but I guess this goes to show at least Marvel/Disney and Fox will never cross over.

Kalyx triaD 12-13-2013 09:01 PM

Iron Patriot, more than likely, is one of the new Avengers. Good job Rhodes, and great for Don Cheadle getting a promotion of sorts in the MCU.

This does raise the question of overlap with Stark being an Avenger. Though his contract (and honestly taxing action hero turn for his age) in consideration, I imagine Iron Patriot will be a long term replacement of sorts going forward. I imagine Stark will Suit Up in the MCU's climax, be it a battle with Thanos or - and this is me speculating - a Civil War.

Lock Jaw 12-13-2013 09:51 PM

Calling it now, War Machine dies in the movie.

At the end of Iron Man 3, Stark "retired" from being Iron Man. So when the Avengers are needed again, he puts forward Rhodey to take his spot, while he just acts as a "consultant" like SHIELD originally had him as. Rhodey gets killed in fast blink-and-you-miss-it Whedon style and pushes Tony to becoming Iron Man again.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-14-2013 06:16 AM

Still drunk. Read the title as Age of Orton and wondered what the Avengers were doing with Orton.

As much as I'd like a Civil War movie, I just don't see it.

Tony is too much of a loveable dick in the MCU, as opposed to a huge asshole in the comics.

Unless they somehow change who's for the registration act and who's not.

Kalyx triaD 12-14-2013 03:31 PM

I don't know; while Thanos' threat is looming, the themes of Phase 2 seem to point to Civil War more than War of the Gems.

Lock Jaw 12-15-2013 12:58 AM

No way Civil War happens. They would need to introduce a whole lot more characters. Plus the government/SHIELD pretty much knows everybody's "secret identities" already anyways.

Fignuts 12-15-2013 03:56 AM

They were already at eachothers throats, and fighting enough in the first movie. Would feel redundant if they did it again, even if it was a larger scale. I think we get a little more dissension in the second movie, but then by the third movie, they are a well oiled unit, with a tremendous bond between one another. They'll have to be to stand a chance against Thanos.

Plus, I think both Thanos and Civil War are both too big to be in the same movie together. To truly do justice to either one, they need the whole film dedicated to just them. Together, one will inevitably take from the other.

Shadow 12-15-2013 02:53 PM

And we'd need a Phase 4 which, by all accounts, won't be happening.

At least not with this perfect cast.

Kalyx triaD 12-15-2013 10:45 PM

Yeah Avengers 3 will more than likely be the big finale and everything gets rebooted from there.

McLegend 12-15-2013 11:09 PM

I hope it doesn't get rebooted. I don't care if it's new actors, but I hope they keep the same "universe."

Reavant 12-16-2013 12:31 PM

The only way I wouldnt mind a reboot is if marvel is able to some day get the rights to all the characters and have the entire universe back in their umbrella

SECRET WARS MOVIE!!!

Miotch 12-18-2013 08:44 PM

Pretty sure I've said it before, but if they do reboot the universe I'd be OK with it if they were able to do something darker along the lines of the Ultimate universe.

Lock Jaw 01-15-2014 03:41 PM

Thomas Kretschmann has been cast as Baron Von Strucker

Paul Bettany tapped to play Vision.

Which I'm trying to wrap my head around since he voiced Jarvis in all the Iron Man movies.

Jarvis: Mr. Stark, the suit is almost destroyed.

Vision: I WILL DESTROY YOU!
