This fat kid who is an extra in EVERYTHING, who also is apparently not a kid, but like 35 years old.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-29-2013 06:01 PM

I like how this thread has gone from "Guy who you only know as one role" to "Guys who are in everything but nobody knows the name of"

Nice change of direction.

Lasted longer than most TPWW threads

True, unlike so many which promised so much and delivered so little.

He was also in Homeland I think, but I really don't know his name.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-29-2013 06:13 PM

Ugh, I'm thinking of an actor who was always in stuff. Older guy, usually pretty grumpy. He was in an episode of a teen show from the 90's, probably Fresh Prince or Saved by the Bell, where he was in hospital and one of the characters were looking after him in one of those episodes where the whole cast somehow gets an intern job in a hospital. He died at the end of the episode I think. No idea how I can word it to search on google though. Got a feeling it's not Saved by the Bell though cause I'd most probably remember it better.

Lock Jaw 07-29-2013 06:13 PM

Is that the neighbor guy from Honey, I Shrunk the Kid? I don't know his name, but I always think of him in that role whenever I see him. Which isn't a whole lot. He was on one episode of Star Trek: TNG, and the miniseries "Taken".

Referring to this one:

Growing Pains had a very similar episode to what you are describing. It was when Chrissy was born.

I don't what that's guy name is though.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-29-2013 06:28 PM

Never seen that.

Ugh it's annoying me now. Trying to think of what shows I used to watch and then type in "... hospital episode" into google, but I'm not finding the episode yet. Tried Saved by the Bell, sbtb: The New Class, Hang Time, USA High, Fresh Prince, Kenan and Kel. Can't really think of many others I watched that it could be. Gonna go crazy if I don't figure it out.

Tried reversing my search as well by looking for the actor but all I can think is that he was old, grumpy and in a bunch of stuff. Typed in stuff like "old grumpy actor from 90s" and "actors who were in everything in the 90s" but nothing yet. Going crazy.

Oh fucking hell I think it was Jack Carter I was thinking of

http://photos.exposay.com/Jack_Carte...rter_CJAkW.jpg

Remembered that he sang "What a Wonderful World" in the episode I was thinking of, so googled up times that had been used. Got lead to an episode of Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

CSL 07-29-2013 06:41 PM

jesus, he already looks dead in that picture

Corporate CockSnogger 07-29-2013 06:45 PM

Hm, apparently he's still going strong. 90 years old now.

Always think of as "Leslie Neilson", and not as his characters.

I watched Murder She Wrote as a kid (YEAH!) and he had a couple of guest roles on the show... anyways it was on randomly when I was older and I caught the eps with him on them... and he's totally playing his role straight, but I was dying laughing, couldn't handle him.

Incredible.

That's my story.

Anwyays.

Sgt. Red O'Neill in Platoon, that's how I always thought of him until Scrubs caught on big. Tom Berenger's mate. Tom Berenger is always Tom Berenger.

Bad News Gertner 07-30-2013 05:54 AM

First one who comes to mind is Mike Hagerty.

He's been is EVERYTHING: Friends, Married With Children, Curb Your Enthuiasm, The Wonder Years, Star Trek, Wayne World etc.... If you watched t.v during the 90's you've seen him in something.

Always remember him as the plumber who dies in "Martin", when Martin uses a plunger on his fat stomach.

Curtis Anderson 07-30-2013 06:03 AM

Umm that's John Candy. He was in a lot during the 90s.

road doggy dogg 07-30-2013 08:18 AM

Uhh except it's not John Candy.

Bad News Gertner 07-30-2013 10:32 AM

Ed O'Neill will always be Al Bundy

Emperor Smeat 07-30-2013 12:48 PM

For a long time used to think of John McClain every time Bruce Willis showed up in a movie.

Lock Jaw 07-30-2013 12:50 PM

Only in movies where he still has hair, though. When he doesn't have hair, I just think of him as "Bruce Willis". Dunno why.

parkmania 07-31-2013 12:37 AM

All this talk of Bruce Willis made me think of the show "Moonlighting" which sent me on to this guy:

http://content8.flixster.com/photo/5...385086_ori.jpg

FUN FACT: This guy is currently the voice of Dan on the cartoon Dan Vs.

The Condor 07-31-2013 12:07 PM

The name Wallace Shawn means nothing. The word "inconceivable" means everything.

This is someone's dad from "Yes, Dear".

Like one of the wives or something.

The Condor 08-02-2013 10:49 AM

He was the asshole neighbor in the Addams Family too. Didn't he play Richard Nixon in a movie, too?

Wasn't he a teacher in a movie who kept getting peas thrown at him? or was paranoid about peas being thrown at him?
