NU is building a giant multimillion dollar training complex on the lakefront here which they basically did for him and the football team (and the donations that come with a successful program obvs). He signed a big contract extension a couple of years ago in which they were criticized for overpaying, but its looking like the smart move now. In short, he aint Gary Barnett who had his foot halfway out the door anytime another school came calling. NU is very lucky to have an ultimate homer as its head coach in this case.

If Texas comes calling offering around $8-$10 million a year, he's gone. Texas has the money to get whoever the hell they want. It is just a matter of if the guy is willing to leave. A lot of these dumbass longhorn fans here think they will poach Nick Saban from Alabama.

Frank Drebin 10-08-2013 11:34 PM

I'd be shocked if he left for a random top tier school just because of the cash. He isn't a Brian Kelly type who will ask the school for a few "exceptions". Its just not his bag. "Trust Yourself" doesn't work in a program like Texas and he knows it.

Frank Drebin 10-19-2013 06:13 PM

Sigh......to the Little Caesars Bowl we go I guess.

The Condor 10-23-2013 03:12 PM

We are.... Going to upset OSU this weekend.

Evil Vito 10-26-2013 04:04 PM

Don't really see how Alabama lose a game this year.

ClockShot 10-26-2013 06:01 PM

UConn sucks.

Can we just drop the program already.

Evil Vito 10-26-2013 08:46 PM

Holy shit my local college (and alma mater) is getting a shout out on ESPN. This guy is a monster.

Was a little off on this one. Should beat Illinois this week.

Same story every year with the Ducks. They score a million points on hapless defenses, the hype machine cranks, and then after a couple of months they play a physical team and crumble like tinfoil. The final score tonight was misleading, wouldn't have been that close if Stanford didn't pump the breaks and switch to an ultra-conservative defense in the 4th.

The Condor 11-09-2013 08:06 AM

Stanford is a legit program because of Jim Harbaugh. Credit to David Shaw for keeping the ball rolling, but it is definitely a big time program anymore.

James Steele 11-09-2013 02:47 PM

"Ok."

McLegend 11-12-2013 10:01 PM

I am pumped for this game.

Yeah, this is going to be by far MSU’s biggest test this season when they play @ Neb. in Lincoln later today. We’ve only got ½-gm. lead over them in the Legends Division, we’ve never beaten them EVER, and they have a runner who’s been averaging 130-something yds. rushing/gm. this season or something ridiculous which could pose a huge threat if our top-ranked D isn’t ready to shut him down.

Should be a fun game, but if MSU loses today, they can kiss any Rose Bowl/other BCS game hopes goodbye.

Bad News Gertner 11-16-2013 12:52 PM

Well they've totally exceeded my expectations already.

Yeah, but you have to admit it would be totally awesome to see them run the table through Nov. to take them to 11-1. Sure they'd probably have to face OSU in the B1G title game and OSU would probably be 12-0 at the rate they're going, but I believe with our D, we can and should beat anyone in our path. Imagine winning the conference title, being 12-1 and having a spot not only in the Rose Bowl, but for this MSU team to do something no other has done: win 13 games in a season.

I’m dreaming big until and unless something brings me and all the rest of the Sparty nation crashing down.

And lets not forget, despite near disaster vs. Columbia yesterday, the MSU men’s hoops squad will be #1 in the land come Monday! #THISISSPARTA

Evil Vito 11-16-2013 11:22 PM

Aaaaand WCSU's time at the top of a record book is short lived. Cartel Brooks of Heidelberg is the new single-game rushing leader. 465 yards, beating the previous record by 10.

In other news, Auburn shocks the College Football world by taking down 'Bama.

Evil Vito 12-02-2013 12:48 AM

The new top 5:

1. Florida State
2. Ohio State
3. Auburn
4. Alabama
5. Missouri

Florida State should be locked in to the National Title game with a win over Duke next weekend. However there is a lot of thought that Ohio State needs to win convincingly over Michigan State to get in. Otherwise the SEC Title game winner will probably surpass them. Because the SEC is the only conference that really matters.

Frank Drebin 12-02-2013 01:10 AM

Wish the four team playoff were this year. All those teams listed above can make a case.

Bad News Gertner 12-02-2013 01:15 AM

Michigan State Spartans!

Frank Drebin 12-02-2013 01:21 AM

They've looked shockingly good. Too bad they'l get no at large consideration for a BCS bowl if they lose to Ohio State.

SPARTANS! 12 WINS IN A SEASON FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! Also they are headed to the 100th Year of the Rose Bowl, which is very exciting. First trip there in 26 years...for perspective, on Jan. 1, '88 my brother was still (exactly) 4 weeks from being born.

James Steele 12-08-2013 11:16 AM

Looks like all the BCS Bowls will be pretty damn good. Only concern is the projection of OU/Bama in the Sugar Bowl. My Sooners may just get the living shit beat out of them.

James Steele 12-08-2013 11:30 AM

Praying it will be like Bama/Utah, since it is a very similar situation.

Krimzon7 12-08-2013 11:46 AM

OU in any BCS game equals them getting the living shit kicked out of them.

James Steele 12-08-2013 11:58 AM

They have only gotten the shit kicked out of them twice in BCS Bowls under Stoops. Really, only got the shit kicked out of them 3 times in the Stoops era. The rest have been close games where OU was favored and got beat by an underrated team.

West Virginia and USC
