With Palutena coming out 7/24, I'm guessing the 7/31 release date I posted yesterday for her and Dark Pit was just a placeholder.

It sucks you guys have exclusivity attached to amiibo. You should be able to go into any shop or visit any online retailer and just buy what you want.

This wave actually seems very stress-free, on paper.
On 7/22, we find out what time Palutena orders go up. On 7/24, we go on Amazon and buy Palutena. On 7/31, we line up at Best Buy to buy Dark Pit. Current rumors are that each Best Buy will get around 100 Dark Pits. |
Local retro games store about 2 blocks from my apartment posted on Facebook ~3 hours ago that they got a bunch of Amiibo in. The pic showed 3 Ness and 2 Shulk. All gone by the time I got home from work and got there :(

Man there were crazy amounts of Shulks everywhere today. Went to EB and they had like 15 of them there so I grabbed one. Then went to the retro store where I usually shop near my apt and they had 4 or 5 as well.
Also snagged a Toad today because fuck yeah Toad |

I got my Palutena today. The Japanese Dark Pit I ordered should arrive Tuesday. Assuming there are no shipping issues, I will have wave 5A completed 3 days before the second figure is even released in North America.

I ordered Palutena and packaged it with some other common or uncommon on Amazon (Diddy Kong maybe? I forget) to get the free shipping. Might as well pay $30 for two instead of $20 for one where 1/4 of that is being paid for shipping.
Was at a con this weekend and expected more vendors to have some but only one guy really had any, and nothing special. But was charging above market price so eff that... $45 for Toon Link ain't my jam. Part of the fun for me is trying to get as many as I can for MSRP |

Pacman is fairly common, I've seen him in decent stock at most EB Games etc. Have yet to see any Gannondorf though

GameStop in the US is supposedly doing pre-orders for the Retro 3 pack this Saturday. I asked my local EB where I preordered Mario Maker if they were and they didn't really have any info so I'm guessing not.
Really need to get me a Game & Watch amiibo. Don't think I'll buy 4 for all the different poses though :D |
Out of that upcoming new wave, probably going to get the Duck Hunt Dog first.

Gamestop confirmed rumors of them holding a special Amiibo event this weekend. Announcement was made by their official mobile app. May or may not require a Pro membership account in order to make a purchase but some stores might be requiring it.

Apparently EB Games in Canada IS doing the pre-orders tomorrow now. No one-hour early store openings though.
Going to I think pull an all-nighter tonight to make sure I'm awake when the store opens since I usually sleep in on Saturdays :o Don't think I'll do the whole "camp out hours ahead" deal, so hopefully no other nerds around here are. idk. Really want me a damn G&W though |
Dunno about in the US but in Canada it seems there is ample supply of the retro 3 packs. Bunch of stores getting a decent quantity

There was a lot of extra stock for the 3-pack here. I got to GameStop two hours early, and I was the 3rd person in line. When they opened, there were less than 20 people in line.
Their stock was 75. |
Also, I'm buying an extra Duck Hunt amiibo from a guy on reddit who only wants R.O.B.

According to Walmart, Amiibo cards are currently expected to cost around $6 in the US. Each pack contains 6 cards with Animal Crossing being the first series available.

Even though my wallet would hate this, I really hope they do more Pokemon amiibo. Not quite all 800 (or whatever) but some of the more iconic ones over the series' lifetime.
