You're right, Vic/Savior...in the U.S., in the vast majority of states it is nothing more than a common law crime (and not an enforceable crime since the early 1990s, by which time 6 states which had since the the late 1960s considered it so had dropped their laws), making it unenforceable.

There are very few common law crimes with penalties. It's pretty much limited to extremely minor things like contempt of court and other petty things.
