That's what we call Ronda being Ronda

Ruien 11-15-2015 07:18 PM

I see. Glad she lost then. The last lady she went against was a total bitch but Holm seems really chill.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-15-2015 07:37 PM

Do they have auto rematches?

Sixx 11-15-2015 07:40 PM

Just seen this. She didn't even get lucky, totally dominated Ronda.

Dana said she'd earned the right to a rematch, so its probably up to Ronda. Could be at UFC 200 I'd assume.

Most times, for long term, dominant champions.

Big Vic 11-16-2015 08:39 AM

Hey guys, clerk was right.

No she has to win the Royal Rumble to get another shot

Ruien 11-17-2015 10:11 PM

She got hit so hard she is suspended for 6 months. Lol.

Kris P Lettus 11-17-2015 10:53 PM

Any KO is like 90 days so double that is not extreme.

Ruien 11-18-2015 07:21 AM

That is a cool rule. Do they have that for boxing too?

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2015 11:06 AM

Yes. It's governed by the NSAC

McLegend 11-18-2015 09:46 PM

I still haven't seen the full fight so I'm just going off the highlights. Two things I would be worried about.

1. This fight reminded me of Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin I. In that fight Rich Franklin was absolutely outclassed and destroyed in every aspect, and you knew Rich Franklin was never going to beat Anderson Silva. We didn't know at the time Anderson Silva was going to be the greatest fighter of all time, but you did know Anderson Silva was a bad matchup for Franklin. I fear this could happen between Rousey and Holm. I think it's very possiblle Holm is a bad matchup for Rousey.

2. A lot of times when top fighters get knocked out and knocked out bad they are never the same and lose their warrior spirit. You add plastic surgery to the mix, and I can totally see this happening to Rousey. I think she is going to lose her Warrior Spirit.

McLegend 11-18-2015 09:55 PM

Rich Franklin got his nose broken and had to get surgey after that fight. Yet another parallel between the fights.

Maybe Holly Holm will go on to be some great fighter, and this loss won't be that surprising years from now.

Taz said on his radio show that he thinks Ronda losing was a work. He didn't think Holly was in on it though.

McLegend 11-19-2015 04:00 AM

She didn't fake getting knocked out... That's for sure.

Lol

She is not that good of an actress

Reavant 11-19-2015 04:42 PM

She has always had huge holes in her game. Watch the second Tate fight.

Mischa is a tough fighter, but she has terrible mechanics to her punches. There is no driving from the feet and turning over from the hips to the shoulder to the hands. Other than her overhand right, she throws only arm punches with nothing behind them. Despite that, she was consistently hitting Ronda in the face when they fought. Ronda was able to eat those shots and come forward because they posed no danger.

Ronda has improved her hands in that they move faster than they once did, and she has decent punching mechanics. She can come forward and deliver a Wanderlei like performance. However, like with the Tate fight, she has no head movement, her hands are down, and she gets hit in the face.

In walks Holm with a world boxing title to her name. Almost every punch she threw landed, except every punch she threw hurt. Ronda was systematically destroyed because she never addressed this hole in her game. Until now, there has never been anyone who could exploit it. You could see the look on Rondas face during the fight. She was desperate and tried to overcome that by preforming even more desperate. She rushed in, she chased, and she swung wildly. All things you never do to a skilled striker. Especially if that skilled striker is more skilled than you.

I also have never liked how Ronda hangs her hat on the headlock judo throws. There is a very good reason you don't see high level men use those throws. First is that men are stronger upper body and if you go to headlock throw a man, you run the risk of being picked up and thrown down on your head. Second, a headlock throw leaves you open to having your back taken. Did we forget the Liz Coarmouche fight? Ronda has been fighting girls that are like most girls in that they are more flexible, but have less upperbody strength. She met a fighter in Holly Holm, that had that upperbody strength which is why you saw her get picked up and dropped by Holly when she did that shit technique.

Unless Ronda's coach can fix this issue, or she can find a coach who can, I feel we will have another Dilashaw/Barao situation on our hands. I don't see anyone else beating Ronda, but I don't see Ronda beating Holm ever again.

What is interesting is that I think that Holm can be beaten. She almost was in her last fight. She is much like Anderson in that she plays the distance and counter punches, but I think the great girl wrestlers will still give her fits. A solid double leg might give her problems.

I don't mean to take anything away from Ronda. Shes a great fighter, but this hype train was so blind to what she was, that it was quite nauseating. I was on board with most people on saying that she was never going to lose, because I was unsure that any woman would be strong enough physically and mentally to take her on. Not only do you have to fight Ronda, but you have to listen to all that hype every day. It is hard to keep your confidence when everyone is saying youre gunna get killed.

Im glad we got to see the shakeup that we did. The rematch will be big money for sure.

:y: agreed

Fantastic analysis and really good arguments. Very worrying for Ronda camp how the fight went, especially with movie offers on the way. Will she have the desire to come back and come back better?

Reavant 11-19-2015 08:45 PM

Also... I don't think anyone here said it, but all the talk about how Mayweather would get beat up by Ronda need to get back on their psych meds. She just got KOed by a woman her size. Im sorry, but one punch from Floyd would probably kill her. I seriously want to strangle people that go on how she would beat him in a full fight. Even my beloved Joe Rogan says it and it breaks my heart.

Innovator 11-20-2015 09:47 AM

Listening to Ronda's corner inbetween rounds pretty much says that she needs to switch coaches. All Edmond could say was "you're doing great." What? You just lost your first round in a fight and are getting torn apart.

Holly Holm would whoop Mayweathers ass.
