Meltzer and Keller are pretty legit. The others, no, just no. Calling Meltzer and Keller illegitimate because they have sources who wish to remain anonymous and/or who may not have all the details to a story is no different than calling Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein illegitimate journalists.

Of course, that doesn't mean they should be trusted implicitly either.

Meltzer and Keller have a great track record and are respected within the industry. They can be a bit wankerish (probably more Meltzer, who tends to revel in being in "the know" far more than Keller) but they are very credible. However, as Crippy states, their word should never be considered gospel.

Wrestling in itself is a very trashy business, so 98% of those who report on it make the National Enquirer look like the beacon of reliability.

So far the three biggest theories going around the net on what this story could be are:

• NXT's Bayley rumored to have cheated on her boyfriend with Finn Balor which would fulfill the talent and ruined reputation part of the rumor.
• A pro wrestling writer named Brandon Stroud being outed as a huge creep, might have sexual harassed a few female indie wrestlers, and might have stolen nude pictures from at least one female indie wrestler's phone. That would fulfill the person having a lot of enemies part of the rumor.
• Daniel Bryan rumored to be involved with a suicide attempt recently and a lot of bad blood between him and the WWE has been brewing for a while.

The second one is the story with the most traction at the moment although also has a lot of issues with it being reliable as well.

Yeah, probably. That's why I've purposely made my "guesses" nonsensical. Feel it is a bit tasteless to genuinely speculate...

Just a bunch of random speculation by people trying to tie in stuff said by the original guy. There are a lot more but those seem to be the biggest in terms of "huge story" status.

The second one is interesting since while I've never heard of the guy, he's supposedly been having a lot of dirt against him building for a while now.

The Bayley one is likely more on how very close those two seem to be which might be fueling the speculation of them becoming a couple soon.

The Bryan one is mostly from people speculating something bad is happening with Bryan's health and strained relations between him and the WWE based on recent sheet news.

Only other one that would be huge would be something related to concussions or medical stuff like WWE's head doctor. Stuff like that has been openly talked about so it wouldn't make sense for the original guy to want to hide the story or help out the WWE since they are dealing with lawsuits and other potentially bad stuff related to it.

The Bryan one actually makes sense, so I hope it is just made up by people. But that seems to go against the "some won't think it's a big deal" line I'm paraphrasing from the original guy. That's why, if I were going to genuinely try and decode what the guy was saying, is that it's a sex act that throws a lot of shit on the company trying to have a squeaky clean image.

The Bayley/Balor stuff doesn't really matter, does it? I mean, Emma had a boyfriend she met in development, got released and then ended up with Zack Ryder. I guess the idea of Bayley's sex life getting attention at all is something the WWE would want to avoid with her "little girls' role model" thing, but she can't be expected to remain legitimately celibate while working for the company. And who wouldn't fuck Finn Balor? That's to be expected.

I honestly hope it's not the Becky Lynch porn thing I jokingly suggested earlier. I'll be honest: Some sort of compromising footage of one of the girls they are trying to build is the first thing I thought of. If one of them filmed something to make ends meet whilst trying to become an actress at an earlier stage in their life, then the company's hands would probably be sort of tied with their public policy against other former female talent.

I'm honestly surprised that they've still got Lana knowing that her tits appeared in Banshee.
