Imagine the monstrous pop when The Lethal Weapon returns to the Federation

Seriously though, I want Angle vs. Gable. You can have Angle hand-pick Gable — a fellow Olympian with a ton of potential. He can use the “Glorious” theme, so that gets air-time, and it can go towards building jealousy between Gable and Roode.

The biggest markout I’ve experienced watching wrestling live was this music hitting at the Raw 15th Anniversary Show.

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2019 10:13 PM

Put Cena against Joe after Cena helps R-Truth win the US Title back. R-Truth defends that belt against Mustafa Ali, probably on the Kickoff, where Ali wins the belt. Owens & Zayn find themselves targets of Wyatt & Harper. Rey and Andrade have Mask vs. Hair.

* Ronda vs. Becky vs. Charlotte
* Brock vs. Seth
* Triple H vs. Big Daddy Dave
* Bryan vs. Kofi (gets 35 minutes and tries to be the best WWE Title match, bell-to-bell, in WWE history)
* Asuka vs. Winner of Women’s Battle Royal
* Orton vs. Styles
* Angle vs. Gable
* Cena vs. Joe
* Shane vs. Miz
* Roman vs. Drew
* Lashley vs. Demon Balor
* Usos vs. Hardys
* Rey vs. Andrade
* Revival vs. Black & Ricochet
* Owens & Zayn vs. Wyatt & Harper
* Sasha & Bayley vs. Beth & Nattie

* Women’s Battle Royal
* Andre Battle Royal
* Buddy Murphy vs. Tournament Winner
* R-Truth vs. Ali

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2019 10:17 PM

Such a big fucking card. A lot of them don’t need to be longer than 15 minutes though (or there around that mark).

The MAC 03-16-2019 01:07 AM

Shane. Fuck the miz

Fignuts 03-16-2019 03:59 AM

I might not watch mania for the first time in over a decade. It's just gotten too fucking long, and theres been less and less that Ive enjoyed over the past few years.

Same here. Gonna probably watch an old House show instead.

Savio 03-16-2019 04:30 PM

Charolette vs Asuka could have really elevated the SD women's title.... but here we are.

Evil Vito 03-16-2019 04:44 PM

Feel like I'd have no interest in Mania at all if not for the fact that I might actually be there and that's generally enough to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Fignuts 03-16-2019 05:02 PM

I couldn’t even imagine sitting in those seats for 7 hours. I can barely handle it, lying on the couch

Evil Vito 03-16-2019 05:08 PM

If all likelihood I'll be buying cheap seats and walking around the concourse at different points to check out the vantage points from different spots.

But yeah, long-ass show. Would be an easier sell if the guy I went to WM29 with was able to go this year but he's had another kid since then and is now tapped out financially.

I love that a small pocket of fans in the crowd lose their minds when they hear the entrance music

Why does anyone even give a shit about this?

Angle can barely move in the ring at this point, and the spectacle of just seeing him wrestle is gone thanks to WWE putting him in nothing raw matches.

Yeah! They really dropped the ball on Angle.

Your mother has a cock, and your father loves it.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2019 08:35 PM

On paper, this could be an awesome Mania. I feel dirty saying that, because the product has been predictably dull for years, and I don’t want to make it sound like my hopes are up. But this is more about my anger at the current landscape.

* Ronda Rousey is a star. Becky is over with the audience. This could have been presented like Austin/Tyson if Tyson were actually going to work and put Austin over.

* Brock is a star. They beat into your head that you shouldn’t care about him because he doesn’t care. His history with Seth goes back to the Mania 31 main event where Seth screwed him out of the belt. Now he has grown and is risking his health to do it the right way. Amazing story with years of inherent build. Nope.

* Kofi has caught relative fire, and that proves how easy it is to build someone when you have them wrestle impressively and win. He is a stooge waiting for Vince outside his office. He’s not even really feuding with the guy he is going to face. His issues are with Vince.

* Roman beat fucking cancer and is coming back a triumphant hero.

* Kurt freakin’ Angle is having a farewell match.

* Orton vs. Styles has been put into the back pocket and has two diametrically opposes wrestlers clashing.

* Cena vs. Joe probably isn’t happening. They have so much history. Started in the business together. One was treated like the golden boy and the other had to scrape and claw for everything.

* Batista is a star and has been giving some awesome performances as a heel, but Triple H needs to act too cool for school.

* Rey vs. Andrade have been tearing it down and could be having a match with stakes.

* Charlotte could have protested Becky being in the Rumble, and as runner-up gone into a rematch of one of the best matches on the card last year against Asuka. Would have been fucking fine.

If that were the entire card, WrestleMania 35 could have been an all-time classic show. You could have stars coming out of it. Keep Mania for your elite stories. If you don’t make the card? Work harder to get over. Is being thrown into a nothing match that fatigues everything, where someone has to lose and your audience realizes they don’t care about that to your benefit? Don’t be such a mark.

But I don’t care. They have fucked up every single one of their stories except Styles vs. Orton so far, and you can’t have one good story in the middle save a product where everything else is cut down. I don’t understand how they fuck this up so much.

DaveWadding 03-16-2019 08:56 PM

Angle vs. Matt Riddle.

BROOOOOOOO

Emperor Smeat 03-16-2019 08:56 PM

Going by WWE and Angle's recent teases, this was the list of potential opponents considered for Angle's retirement match:
* John Cena
* Samoa Joe
* Baron Corbin
* Drew McIntyre
* Shelton Benjamin
* Bobby Lashley
* AJ Styles

Once you remove people based on current and speculated Mania plans, its pretty much down to Cena, Benjamin, and either Corbin or McIntyre (McIntyre vs Reigns seems more likely).

Only McIntyre would benefit from whatever star rub Angle has left. Cena makes the most sense if WWE just wants a quickly thrown and high profile one-off match like Taker-Cena last year.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2019 09:09 PM

I think it will be Cena/Angle, but I do think Benjamin will get a Raw match (and might even win). Something tells me that they want to do something with him. Like a locker room leader kind of spot.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2019 09:10 PM

Corbin could end up in the IC Title match. They often fall into patterns, and they did a Triple Threat for the belt last year. I don’t think they care that the main is also a Triple Threat.

Wrestling HHH, yeah

GD 03-17-2019 03:15 AM

@SixxT9 Also James Gunn was reinstated for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Sixx 03-17-2019 03:27 AM

I know, but what oes this have to do with Batista wrestling again?

GD 03-17-2019 04:01 AM

Nothing. Just wanted to fill you in.

Blue Demon 03-17-2019 08:21 AM

I've watched 32 consecutive 'Manias....don't know if I wanna stop yet. But, as mentioned, this shit is getting long and lackluster.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-17-2019 12:30 PM

The Big Dog? or is he going to be facing DrewMc?

Evil Vito 03-17-2019 12:46 PM

I actually enjoyed last year's Mania up through probably Taker/Cena.

Bryan's return match was kinda disappointing since it was basically just Shane wrestling 90% of it...but still, the crowd was electric so that was good.

Nia/Bliss I cared nothing about and it was a bit ridiculous since Alexa, being the heel, had to control most of the match when the story dictated it should be a quick squash.

Nak/AJ was good but didn't live up to my admittedly lofty expectations and future encounters between them were better.

Braun's thing was harmless but dumb. And the main sucked.

Longer streak than 'Taker. You deserve a rest.

Cena's the only one that makes sense since it puts him on the show and he can lose to Angle and no one will care cause he wont be back fast enough for anyone to remember. Of course theres the retiring wrestlers go out with their shoulders on the mat for a 3 count ideal, but I dont see angle losing. if they use Mcintyre or anyone else besides probably Shelton, and they lose to beat up old man at WM they might as well go somewhere else to wrestle.

slik 03-18-2019 03:26 AM

Probably will be Baron Corbin...

Angle will hit a few suplexes and then Corbin will escape from the Ankle Lock and defeat Angle in a 2-3 minute match. Internet will be 'mad' and then Baron will have 'mega-heel-heat' and get shoe-horned into a feud with maybe Seth if Seth wins the Universal Title post WM for months??

I could see that all happening via WWE being WWE.

Mr. Nerfect 03-18-2019 04:25 AM

It's not impossible, but I do think it will be Cena.

Yeah, watched from 3 on :o So would that be 33 consecutive Manias then? I guess it will be with this one.

rockman725 03-18-2019 12:53 PM

I'm pretty sure it will be Cena too. Him or Undertaker are the only 2 that make sense that aren't involved in a current storyline. DB would spark major interest, but since he's holding the title, no way they steer away from current storylines for that. The only other dart on the board... what's Big Show doing!?! lol

If they are going to make this a current story-relevant thing, than it is possible that it will be Corbin. I'd hate it, but would make sense.

XL 03-18-2019 04:19 PM

They could always go the tag route and have Cena team with Angle against Corbin and Lashley.

Evil Vito 03-18-2019 04:34 PM

Good god that would suck. But I could totally see it.

Mr. Nerfect 03-18-2019 06:06 PM

Corbin will be a Raw match, I think. If it happens again.
