NewLegacyInc was invited to a recent preview event for the game and were told the only DLC characters being planned are just goofy/monster alts of existing in-game characters. Anyone who missed the roster cut is not being added into the game.

Also seems Io won't have her new entrance theme based on a recent video showcasing all the women's entrances in the game.

They have completely phoned it in this year.

Supposedly the game contains entire movesets for certain NXT people like KUSHIDA who were originally planned as DLC before 2K Games went in a different direction.

For those in the know, is this because Yukes aren’t making them anymore?

Not really.

Its pretty much a textbook example of a game needing way more development time but can't because of strict deadlines from WWE and 2K Games stopped caring about quality years ago.

Didn't help Visual Concepts that Yukes engine has been a big mess for years and they had to redo a lot of stuff in the game because of the state it was in when the developer switch happened.

I'd rather they skip a year or two and come up with something substantial. I miss small things like superstars coming out with multiple titles and other small things that add to the overall experience.

2K Games wanted to do something like that around a year or two into their deal in order to rehaul the game engine but WWE refused to allow it.

Even asking for delay by a couple of months for a semi-rehaul got rejected by WWE since it would have made their quarter fiscal report be lower than usual at the time.

After that moment, 2K Games pretty much came to the same realization THQ had years before of WWE games are not worth spending huge sums of money to improve and the least amount of effort done still generates a decent amount of revenue each year.

They also might not give any fucks this year because they'll likely be developing a version of 2K21 for next-gen.

2K may also have less incentive to care as there's probably a good number of their staff working on events and DLC for Borderlands 3.

Definitely a hard pass for me. There are certain games not worth anybody's money.

I think I'd feel most embarrassed for anyone who's ever paid for Fallout 76, though. Easily the worst game (and I use the term loosely here) of this generation.

At somepoint a fanbase needs to blame themselves. People keep buying a product that insults them for the branding alone and theyll get what they deserve.


This is on no one but the consumer at this point.

I was given 2k19 as a Christmas gift last year and I played for like a month before getting bored and moving on. And even that game looked far superior to this.

I'm gonna flat out ask to NOT be given it this year because I can't condone anyone spending money on this crap.

Others have also mentioned about Visual Concepts likely using new tech for this year's game but between having to make it work with Yukes engine and dev time issues, the odd looking faces are the end result.

Said it before and i'll say it again, these games would be better if they had 2-3 years dev time, wwe just want to crank these out yearly which leads to a game that for the most part could have been an update for the game previous.

Vader's Mastodon helmet had a similar glitch problem for like 2 years in a row where he would do the motion to take off his helmet during his entrance so it could then do the smoke effect but the helmet itself wouldn't come off nor start smoking. Vader would still react as if it did happen making his entrance look goofy.

In 2k19 if you chose to do the break out attack when you were entering with vader the game bugged out, he looked like he was stooping over, the helmet remained on for a while and moves seemed to be detached from his body.
