2nd time a weird subset of fans have gone psycho at a wrestler recently...a lot of unhinged comments on Daniel Bryan/Brie Bella's social media after the slightest hint of him going to AEW popped up

Toxic ass mother fuckers

Luke Harper died at the end of last year, which as others have said, was fucking with him mentally as of late. I'm sure it was probably a long discussion and then a mutual decision by both parties, or at least I hope.

I support his efforts to hopefully work through everything. Seems like it would be a heck of a burden to carry around all the time.

Triple A 07-31-2021 11:57 PM

He was released by WWE because they didn't want to spend money on his contract... not a mutual decision, according to various reports

Triple A 07-31-2021 11:58 PM

Where did the thing about him being "mentally unwell" come from... who reported that

Probably the best "live band entrance" at WM

Psycho Clown vs Bray Wyatt mask vs mask match at TripleMania

Supreme Olajuwon 08-01-2021 01:48 PM

I like Bray and think he’s very talented, but I do not see him as a good fit for AEW. Think he’d be great in Impact though.

If he ditched the magic crap and stuck to the creepy cult leader persona, it would work just fine.

Evil Vito 08-01-2021 02:30 PM

Had he not just dropped a ton of weight I’d have said he should drop the mask and gimmicks, don his Husky Harris trunks, go to Japan and just embrace being a big meaty lad throwing bombs.

#1-norm-fan 08-01-2021 03:43 PM

Could have teamed him up with WALTER and called them “The Meaty Lads”. What a waste.

i think he can work both, and then japan.

I think he’d be phenomenal in Japan. They love that spooky shit. I think he’d also do well working a stiffer style. But he’s got an infant at home so I dunno if he’d be interested.

#1-norm-fan 08-01-2021 06:58 PM

He’s an insanely good performer regardless of how you feel about the gimmicks. AEW would be smart to find a good spot for him.

It’s ridiculous that WWE booked him against The Undertaker at WrestleMania and had Taker just basically squash him while also scaring the shit out of him. If you didn’t know better you’d have thought Taker was the up-and-comer they were trying to get over.

Taker still beating Bray but having Bray get locked in Hell’s Gate for a bit before laughing maniacally and yelling something creepy like “I’ll see you in hell, dead man.” and then passing out as Taker breaks the hold and looks down as his arm is raised like “... What the fuck is wrong with this guy?” immediately boosts Bray to another level while also keeping Taker looking strong for Brock. (So that he could get his streak loss back and use a 20+ year angle for some 50/50 booking bullshit!)

Instead “Old over guy win match, younger guy lose match. Booking done.”

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck this company.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-01-2021 07:18 PM

I mean Bray getting squashed by Goldberg is the single worst booking decision since what, the Fingerpoke of Doom?

The guy has overcome the odds so much you’d think he’s John Cena

Jordan 08-01-2021 07:44 PM

The worst decision was making The Fiend gimmick at all. It's one of the worst gimmicks WWE has ever done because it was constantly in the main event and constantly a wet fart. Bray Wyatt got weirder and weirder until that is all they could do was go full bad horror film.

The Fiend single handedly forced me to stop watching WWE and with the exception of the last two Mania's and a few of the recent return to touring live show's I haven't watched anything.

I guess my point was that The Fiend was really really terrible and embarrassing.

#1-norm-fan 08-01-2021 09:12 PM

It’s also funny that they used WrestleMania last year to put Bray over Cena AND Braun over Goldberg. TAKE THAT ALL YOU “THEY JUST RELY ON OLD GUYS AND NEVER PUT THE YOUNG GUYS OVER” DETRACTORS!

(lol Just kidding. WrestleMania main events don’t mean shit either anymore. Bray and Braun are now gone and Cena and Goldberg are challenging for the titles. Suckers.)

No idea but TBH I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it turned out to be true. 🤷

Damian Rey 2.0 08-02-2021 01:08 AM

Bray going to AEW as a weird cult leader trying to infiltrate and take over the Dark Order and feuding with Hangman works. He doesn’t have to be creepy super powered Bray. Just a creepy, manipulative, conniving cult leader trying to ruin people’s lives.

Darby v Bray is a potential dream feud.

I think Punk was supposed to continue his feud with Kane then HHH.

Loose Cannon 08-02-2021 12:27 PM

i think where ever Bray shows up, we'll see a whole new character. I think he enjoys reinventing himself and doing different characters so i don't think we'll see anything like Bray Wyatt or the Fiend.

drave 08-02-2021 12:45 PM

The Fiend was great from a marketability standpoint, but it was also a very "jump the shark" with his character.

Wyatt Compound Bray was the best Bray.

RP 08-02-2021 11:27 PM

When Bray came out to Fireflies, it was one of the most over things ever. One of the most over looking things ever.

There is something extremely wrong if you fire Bray Wyatt.

The only thing i can think of is that they are feeding AEW talent on purpose! You dont fire one of the most creative, physical dudes you have in the company, for budget costs. Costs that we all know are non existent !

This is fucked up! This is bad!

Exactly right, like I said there is no way whatever they were paying him was more than the gobs of money they were making on his merchandise.

Budget Cuts only work when it causes a plus to the bottom line.

I can see AEW ending up with “too many irons in the fire” at this point. Bringing in Punk and Bryan (if they actually have) will already affect the pecking order so to speak, bringing in a Bray Wyatt to go alongside them (and Tommy End) could have further affects. You can’t bring in these WWE main eventers to work in the midcard but putting them into the mix at the top could stunt the natural progression of the “homegrown” talent. Is there room for Page, Jungle Boy, et al to continue to climb up the ranks of the top of the ranks are a stacked?

I can see this as an issue as well. It makes me look at the roster and who AEW has signed that isn't a big WWE name, who they are cultivating into a star...

Jungle Boy
Darby Allin
Ricky Starks
Lance Archer
PAC
Lucha Bro's
MJF
Sammy Guevara
Santana & Ortiz

Now not all of those listed are capable of main events but at the same time, they all are capable of main events opposite a big star. We've seen that method work thus far. I think that there is money in big name dream matches like Kenny vs Punk or Danielson but those will be used for PPV's likely.

AEW's roster is certainly full and they don't need to add any more big names at this time. If several months down the line Braun or Bray are interested and it makes sense then sure sign them up but I totally agree that AEW is kind of jam packed especially with the Danielson and Punk deals.

drave 08-03-2021 10:16 AM

This is the meta guys. WWE Execs have decided to release talent in hopes that AEW will get bloated and go belly up. Meanwhile, back in Stamford, CT they will be high-fiving in the hallways celebrating their win.

screech 08-03-2021 11:41 AM

I like to think that WWE big wigs are often high-fiving in their hallways over the most mundane shit.

drave 08-03-2021 11:45 AM

And on the next WWE 24, we get the High-Five-Camera-Cuts edition.

Evil Vito 08-03-2021 11:46 AM

"Vince is getting delivery from Slice of Stamford for the meeting later"
"Fuck yeah!"
*high five*

drave 08-03-2021 12:04 PM

43 camera cuts in 2 seconds

xrodmuc316 08-04-2021 12:41 AM

AEW would be foolish to pass up signing Bray and Braun if they have the chance. Yes they already have an absurdly bloated roster, but you make rooms for guys like that.

weather vane 08-04-2021 02:25 AM

Agree with above, especially Bray. Bloated roster sure, but maybe you need that to see who’s who. Cuts got to happen at some point. Sign these big boys and get rid of some dead weight. Nobody is gonna cry if Sonny Kiss, Luther, Serpentico, Peter Avalon, Gunn Club, Lee Johnson, and Leva Bates are gone… and I love me some Luther. Plus the 76 other guys from Dark who are just ok. Room to be made.

Sepholio 08-04-2021 09:27 AM

AEW would be stupid not to take Bray. They got all kinds of little flippy guys but not many "bruisers" like Bray. But the main thing is that he would immediately be in the top 1% of guys who can cut a promo in that company. Hell he might be the best they have on the mic right off the bat. They need that talking ability.

Not to mention they can probably get a hell of a lot more miles out of Bray than pretty much all these other people they are signing.

drave 08-04-2021 10:52 AM

Bruiser Bray. Southern smashmouth old school hoss.

Can be an ode to both Brody and Brodie.

BigCrippyZ 08-04-2021 11:09 AM

Even if the roster is getting bloated, I don't know how or why you'd turn down Bray Wyatt if you're AEW and he's really interested in coming in for any remotely reasonable amount of money.

He's easily one of the best talkers of the last decade and has an athletic skill set for his body type that would still make him different enough to be a good hand to have around. Plus, he's supposedly one of the most creative and successful guys in the business in terms of creating his character(s) and getting over, even if it wasn't always perfect or Vince and company would sometimes make it less so.

I'd like to see what he could come up with and do if he was free from the confines of WWE's structure and restrictions.

Friend of mine thinks Bray getting released is a work. He made a compelling case and I'd like to think he is right but I don't put much stock in the idea. Maybe like a 5% chance he's right, and that's being generous.

drave 08-04-2021 03:31 PM
