Okay I'm about 10 episodes into series 1 and it's really starting to grow on me. I'm liking the whole story of Sinclair's missing 24 hours, and also just the general mythology behind each race. It's still a bit "monster of the week"ish at the moment as a lot of shows start out, I guess it'll develop on and advance once all the characters are fleshed out more.
|
Yeah, they do have a "monster of the week", but the good part is that a lot of these monster races show back up again and again throughout the run. Glad you're liking it.

Oh shit Bishop Brennan from Father Ted is in this episode. He better get kicked up the arse.

i smell shite

Got two episodes left of series 2. It seems I'm going through this at a slower pace than I do with a lot of shows. It's certainly got it's ups and downs but I loved the last episode. Londo was absolutely menacing after the culmination of the Centauri-Narn war. The reversal of roles between him and G'kar is pretty great. Feel so bad for G'kar right now. I'll probably finish off series 2 tonight.

I always liked the Centaris. My dad is a Trekkie, but as a young boy I watched shows with him such as this and the old Highlander series. This was a killer series, always enjoyed it,.

Kinda hate Marcus. I think it might just be that the southern English accent sounds ridiculous for a wisecracking badass character.
Love Lennier though, he's a legit badass without even trying. Love how he just picked Marcus up in the last ep I just watched and was all "You don't want to touch me like that again." |
The character arc for Lennier is quite expansive. From mealy-mouthed flunkie to quiet bad-ass to I'm-not-gonna-say. He's definitely still got a few surprises in store for you.
Just wait til you get to the "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Repair" episode. It's hilarious. |
At the end of season 4 now, and like the past few episodes have all seemed like the season finale, but then there's more. The last ep I just watched seemed like it was going to be the overall series finale also, and there's still one more episode to go. Were they not sure whether the show was going to get cancelled or something? I could understand if they just made the last episode of season 4 seem that way, but each of the last 4 episodes or so have ended in a "this could well be the final shot of the whole series" kind of scene.
|
Loved the Garibaldi arc in season 4 btw, although I kinda just wanted him to have actually gone a bit rogue because of disagreements with Sheridan, rather than him being mind-fucked. I thought it added more to his character when he was just going by his own principles rather than blindly following Sheridan.

Any legal stream site to watch this show yet?
|
It looks like you can get it from Amazon or iTunes, at $2/episode. You can also go to thewb.com to watch assorted season 1 episodes.

But "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" is quite the mindfuck. |
Yeahhh that whole episode was a bit mad. Enjoyed it though. Season 5's a bit shit so far and jeeeeeeeeesus this Byron guy is the absolute worst character ever.
I did like the episode that was from the point of view of the two workers though. But I've always had a soft spot for one off, gimmicky episodes like that. |
Oh god, Penn and Teller.
|
Zooty! Zoot zoot!!!
|
BTW, did you know that Lyta was (and may still be) married to Kosh in real life?
|
Well that Legend of the Rangers film was a bit awful now wasn't it
|
A bit?!?!?
More like it was written by a 4th grader who had watched about 3 episodes. |
Just watched A Call To Arms. That was much better, plus grey, bearded Sheridan is just cool. Possibly start Crusade later today and then once that's done I'll be throwing on the final ep of the main series. It's been a good ride.
|
Crusade will be a major letdown. Just be prepared.
|
Yeah so I've been told. Kids the main reason I'm leaving the final Babylon 5 ep til the very end, so it can end with a bang for me.
