And with his Carolinas connection he'd fit in with Hunter as another Flair/Horseman/NWA mark.

On the other hand if he turns heel, and then jumps to SD he wouldn't reach the top of the card by any means, but at least he would be consistantly in the mix. The CW division may not be the greatest, but it is a regualr part of SD, and with his talents he'd be in the title mix a fair amount of the time. That means he'd get to be on TV every week and PPV fairly regularly.

The worst thing for him is that they'll turn him heel, he'll beat Rosey in a terrible match, and then reach the heights of fueding with Maven. That means he'll lose the gimmick that keeps him on the roster (its good opening card stuff) in exchange for a 2 week push. If that happens he'll just get lost in the shuffle on RAW (too small to go for the IC title, too much penis for the Womens title) and he'll be a regular with Steven Richards on Heat.

You're absolutely right. If they put Helms in Evolution as the future of RAW, he'd get over well, and get a chance to shine. He would make the IC division, and possibly eventually the World Heavyweight division (I could see him making it, even though he is the smallest man on RAW). I think it would make him the first ever cruiserweight to win a heavyweight title in the WWE. This would give him a record he could boast around ala Randy Orton. I could see Helms in a memerable feud with almost anyone in the WWE. Apparantly his heel tease has gotten over at house shows, with Helms basically being "booed out of the building". Evolution is the way to go, I think.

Cynick I agrre with everything you said other than him being to small for the I.C title. I think he is tall enough that with a little extra muscle just a little bit (Which is possible witout roids) and he could be very credible. Especialy if he has Batista or someone like that to bail him out against the realy big guys.

Basicaly Evolution is his solution. But I would still mark out like crazy if they used my idea and pushed him andRichards as a proper tag team that could hold the tag gold for a while. But really we all know that he is better than that.

You know what I see as the biggest obstacle for him? The fact that his second name is "Helmsley". He has to have a name away from that.

Bring back "Sugar" Shane Helms and put him in Evolution. Helms would look excellent with Ric Flair promoting him, as would anyone else.

Gouda 09-26-2004 01:17 AM

People... he will not be known as Shane Helms. He's "Gregory" Helms in the WWE.

Mr. Nerfect 09-26-2004 01:32 AM

That's just because they felt there would be confusion between Shane Helms and Shane McMahon. I really dislike the WWE's habit of changing wrestlers' first names because they have someone else using it. In football, players don't change their names because there is another player named "George" in their team.

They did that with Lance Cade, too. They didn't let him use Lance because Lance Storm was an active superstar at the time. I think now with Shane McMahon not on WWE television, Gregory will be able to use Sugar Shane.

Gouda 09-26-2004 01:42 AM

I don't think so... I mean recently Ric Flair even mentioned how Hurricane was really Gregory Helms.

Mr. Nerfect 09-26-2004 01:43 AM

Good point. Oh well, we can always hope.

Cool King 09-26-2004 09:38 AM

How about making Hurricane a Super Villain and keep Rosey a Super Hero and they can have a feud?

HankScorpio 09-26-2004 09:52 AM

^^
yeah, because THAT'LL be entertaining :shifty:

Cool King 09-26-2004 09:55 AM

It could be comedy feud. :)

Dark Kane 09-26-2004 10:46 AM

Helms will never get rid of the Superhero gimmick. Sorry but its true.

Joe Kerr 09-26-2004 12:31 PM

Helms needs to bring back the vertabreaker!

On a side note wouldnt it be funny if Hurricane Convinces Rosey that being a superhero is gay become a Dancer.(reforms 3 count  )

Mr. Nerfect 09-26-2004 08:46 PM

I could see Rosey following Hurricane around as a super villain, or as the new boy band group of the WWE. Rosey is becomming really entertaining, and he gets the fans behind him. I could see him feuding with The Hurricane for a while, maybe even if Helms joins Evolution. Apparently at the latest RAW house show, Hurricane didn't play a heel, but instead played the face against Tomko and did what he did on RAW. It seems the WWE might stretch this out.

I dont think he's too small, but I do think if he's not in Evolution on RAW he will be seen as a small guy and never get anywhere close to the IC title, let alone any main events.

I agree, he just won't be noticeable enough to really capture that level of attention. Maven's the same way. If they gave both guys something to really put them in the spotlight, skills will start talking instead of image.

Sting Fan 09-27-2004 06:19 AM

Yeah his size is a definate factor against him but lets be honest sooner or later Rey Mysterio will win the U.S title if nothing else so why couldn't Helms who is bigger and could have Evolutions backing win the I.C title.

Of course that is under the assumption that one day Vince will give Rey at least a U.S title reign but surely thats just a matter of time right?

Hired Hitman 09-27-2004 06:52 AM

Send Helms to smackdown, let him go after the C.w. Title.

sensai86 09-27-2004 11:30 AM

I'm a Hurri-Fan. I'm confused cause there are different ways for him to become a heel. Begin a Super Villain thing, I also like the idea of him joining Evolution. I don't know, let time fly and we'll see what happens
