Now that I think about, I'd say Alone in the Dark was worse than HotD. At least HotD had some unintentional humour. Alone in the Dark was just pure boring.

TapOut 02-19-2006 03:27 AM

Disney's 'The Rocketeer'.

To date, it's the only movie I've left in the middle of.

KillerWolf 02-19-2006 06:19 AM

oh, and Land of the Dead

aaaand Mortal Kombat II.

Lara Emily 02-19-2006 06:36 AM

I'm going to change my answer to City of Angels starring Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan

Cuzziebro 02-19-2006 06:37 AM

Just watched The Descent, now that was a peice of crap. The ending was so stupid and the whole plot was stupid and girls didnt even look that good. Most of the movie made no sense at all, i would go as far as to say The Descent is worse than Alone in the Dark

Impact! 02-19-2006 06:54 AM

Worst movie, hmmm, I gotta go with any of the land before times after #1.

:p

D Mac 02-19-2006 09:30 AM

Star Wars :shifty:

The Descent is miles better than Alone in the dark. The ending made perfect sense. No-one gets out alive. The girls being good-looking wasn't really the point either. One the best horror movies in ages.

Gonzo 02-19-2006 11:14 AM

I don't remember what it was called but it was like a F budget movie and all it was was this guy walking through a forest and a desert, no dialogue the whole movie, he just walked through the desert deliriously, then at the end he walks into a bar and everyone looks and he goes "I have returned."

It was some medievil times bullshit.

B&R > Captain America

B&R > David Hasselhoff as "Nick Fury"

Aside from the fact that most people with common sense wouldn't watch those, while the Batman franchise started off GOOD?

UmbrellaCorporation 02-19-2006 11:37 AM

Where do I begin?

The MK movies (ironically enough, I loved the Resident Evil movies.)
Date Movie (Waste of time, waste of money, waste of life. Garbage.)

And I totally agree with the Land Before Times after the first one sucking. :p

Absolutely irrelevant. Yes, it was a disappointment compared to the rest of the franchise, but if it's not even the worst of its genre, how can it be the worst overall, which is what the question is?

As bad as B&R is, I think its horribleness is exaggerated because the franchise started off so well. Was I disappointed in "The Phantom Menace?" Sure! Was it the worst of the Star Wars franchise? Sure! But is it the worst movie I've ever seen? Not by a long shot.

KillerWolf 02-19-2006 04:50 PM

and lets not forget Purple Rain

El Capitano Gatisto 02-19-2006 04:57 PM

Spun. It annoyed the shit right out of me. The rental DVD fucked up at some point during it and wouldn't work anymore, so I returned it and got my money back, handily enough. They offered me another copy but I said no, it's shit.

Zelda 02-19-2006 07:14 PM

Fear dot com.

Scarface 02-19-2006 07:27 PM

AI - Whiney robot shit wants to find his mother in a 8 hour snore-fest. Special effects were nice though.

Shaved Monkey 02-20-2006 01:47 PM

Mission: Impossible.

I don't know what it is, but I CANNOT sit through more than 30 minutes of this movie, its just so bad.

Also, I watched the 2nd one, and kinda made it through, but it was pretty shitty too.

I have to say Coffee and Cigarettes. I got up and left during this movie, got convinced to sit back down... and left again. Left twice on one viewing. It wins. I heart huckabees, aggravated the hell out of me because it was trying SO SO SO SO hard to be kitchy. From the moment I saw Jason Schwartzman was in the lead, I knew they were trying to go for some sort of Wes Anderson feel... and failed so miserably I had to quit that film.

So far, that's it for recent movies. OH OH OH, on Christmas Eve, my future sister in law watched one of those films... what was it... oh yeah! "Must Love Dogs"

Fuck... fucking Must Love Dogs... it was Christmas and that... *#$@#()&@# was watching the worst movie of all time. And I used to think Diane Lane was hot, too. Now I just wish... I wish I could go back in time and destroy this film on preproduction. FUCK! I'm angry now.

Triple A 02-22-2006 11:28 AM

I dunno I liked I Heart Huckabees. 'Twas entertaining enough. They were trying hard to be weird and offbeat, yeah, but a lot of it was done well.

AlphaBean 02-22-2006 11:33 AM

It had a lot more good points than Coffee and Cigarettes, or Must Love Dogs... but the fact that it was trying so hard... and the fact that Jason Schwartzmann is in ALL of those kinds of films... made me angry. I don't like movies making me angry.

This isn't irrelevent, as it establishes that more people will have seen the latter over the former, which is exactly the point. You chose some pretty uncommon movies for people to have seen, and compared them to a mainstream "blockbuster."

In fact, you may have chosen 3 Marvel movies people were LEAST likely to have seen. FF: Never released anywhere. Nick Fury: D2DVD far as I know, not widely distributed, shown occasionally on Sci-Fi, but most people haven't seen it. Captain America: So horrible they originally canned it, barely made a showing for itself.

But please, try and change the argument, because God knows you're not bright enough to grasp the relevance of "number of people who've seen a movie" to "why B&R gets mentioned in worst movies you've ever seen."

Choco was amazing. Taking off that guy's arm off almost made me love this film... but in the end, it was just too much.

Zen v.W.o. 02-23-2006 09:03 AM

Any of those teen movies that come out, and are so obviously shit just by the previews. I cant understand how anyone would go and waste cash over them. Who evens takes the time to fucking make these shitty ass films.

But luckily for me I barely watch films, and when I do I be sure it wont suck, but I have stumbled upon a few bombs.

From what I recall, "the game" was shit, "Napoleon Dynamite" was crap, "Fantasia" was boring as all fuck.
Also that movie with Bill Murray, "Lost in translation", god what useless shit that was.

Fryza 02-23-2006 09:42 AM

I'll still stand by Dark Harvest 1 and 2 being the worst movies ever made.

I've seen better home videos, and ones with higher budgets.

Okay, fine, bad example, whatever.

Can't believe I'm trying to clarify what should have been an obvious point, but... How about:

Jurassic Park III
Shark Tale
xXx
Look Who's Talking
The Matrix Revolutions
Godzilla (1998 remake)
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
The Flintstones
2 Fast 2 Furious

All of these movies made at least $125,000,000 domestically, and I contend they're all worse than Batman & Robin.

So, not only did MORE PEOPLE see these movies, they're also WORSE than B&R. Thus, I find it very hard to believe, as disappointing as it was, that B&R was the worst movie anyone has ever seen.

Actually, the movie isn't as bad as what it is made out to be. The monster's rights were sold to Toho, and the creature is an official Godzilla monster now. It was explained that the Americans immediately assumed it was Godzilla, where it was just a close type of creature. The animal's name is 'Zilla', and it appears in Godzilla: Final Wars.

:o

Savio 02-23-2006 02:12 PM

Batman & Robin, Hero, Crybaby........I'd say crybaby is the worst of the bunch

Savio 02-23-2006 02:20 PM

Oh wait I forgot napoleon dynamite, I couldn't sit through that.

Loopy, "Matrix Revolutions" was not worse then B&R

It is if you ask a Matrix fan. If the point is that B&R is the worst movie ever because it's the worst of a franchise that started off well, then the same logic should be applicable to The Matrix. It was every bit the disappointment to Matrix fans that B&R was to Batman fans, if not more because it was the creators butchering their own creation instead of a franchise outsider putting the final nail in.

Fryza 02-23-2006 02:48 PM

Dark Harvest is still worse than B&R.

The Matrix story wasn't as retarded as B&R was.

AlphaBean 02-23-2006 03:27 PM

Are we still arguing over Batman and Robin? Seriously, what the fuck is this?
