Looks awesome.

It amazing to see how much it has changed from the first video to the last.

I would lose interest in this after a while though, too time consuming for my liking.

Drakul 08-30-2007 03:19 AM

I just hope it makes it to the Wii intact, or at the very least to the 360 intact. I want a 360 but refuse to splash out on one until a large enough selection of interesting games are released for it. I'm not into Halo or whatever.

The screenshots have broken and now just show red X's, so I've deleted them to speed up the page loading.

Destor 09-03-2007 11:44 AM

Post em all guy. That shit looks great. I want this one the Wii soooooooooooo bad. But I could settle for the 360 port.

Drakul 09-03-2007 11:52 AM

There is well over 100 model shots and screen shots so to save time, I'll just post a link to them.

Sorry for the bump but Spore was confirmed for the Wii back in October but I just heard about it today. Unsure if anyone else here heard about this.

You may have heard of Spore. The PC version is a hotly anticipated evolution sim from Will Wright, the brain behind The Sims. Like The Sims, it's one of those huge open-ended games that you could lose your life to.

On DS it plays more like an adventure as you play as one creature who is charged with saving the planet. Not much is known about why your planet is in trouble but the way your character evolves makes Spore a unique adventure taht's worth keeping an eye on.

You start as a little slug-type creature who you can move around with the stylus. As you explore the universe you'll collect all sorts of different body parts which you can use to evolve your creature. You can also mess around with your character's colour in the Creature Editor so it really will be your own personal creation.

In addition to Body Parts, you'll also collect Bio-Powers that will help you advance through the 15 levels. Excitingly you'll be able to share your creature with friends via Wi-Fi Connection.

There is also word of a possible Wii version of Spore. We asked Jason Haber, the producer of Spore, about the possibility of a Wii version and he replied: "We haven't officially announced that Spore will be appearing on Wii but I can say in secret that it's okay to get excited and you should!"

The full interview features in Issue 27 of Official Nintendo Magazine which is out on Friday.

I think it looks interesting but I can't say one way or the othet until I know a bit more. I thought they said the DS version would be a card game, or is that just the mobile phone version that's a card game?

Contains a link to the leaked character creator demo. Downloading as I speak, I'll check it out tomorrow.

Drakul 06-15-2008 06:42 AM

It's only leaked by a few days and there are two versions of the demo. The freee one and the one you pay something like 7.99 for.

I'd download it but I really doubt my PC could cope with it.

DS 06-15-2008 10:04 AM

This game has really low system specs so more then likely you will be able to run it. Unless you on some 10 year old laptop or something.

And it's only the Trial version which doesn't have a lot of items in it. The $9.99 one will be better to mess with if you're really interested. Still really fun though so go ahead and download it now and then just get the other one if/when it gets cracked.

Drakul 06-15-2008 10:55 AM

I hope so but my PC is far from gaming quality. It bearly ran Black & White.

DS 06-15-2008 12:11 PM

Here are the system specs actually:

Windows XP
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
512 MB RAM
A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
At least 6 GB of hard drive space

Windows Vista

768 MB RAM
A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
At least 6 GB of hard drive space

Mac OS X
Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
Intel Core Duo Processor
1024 MB RAM
ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
At least 4.7GB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for creations.

Got to say, from just the demo of the creator it's EXTREMELY powerful. Can't wait for the full game.

PapaGeorgio 06-18-2008 04:20 PM

Downloading the free one now. Did you guys get the 10 dolla one or free one with less content?

Is there a release date for this yet? Or any info on a Wii port that could be useful? Been dying to play this for two years. Seems like it's taking forever...

Drakul 06-19-2008 08:07 AM

Yeah, the PC version is out on September the 5th in Europe and September the 7th in the US for the PC but the Wii version hasn't even been revealed yet so no release date. It'll probably be another two years for a Wii version.

I tried downlading the free Creature Creator from the Spore site and my Video Card can't handle it :( So I'm going to try it out on a family members laptop to see if it works there.

Destor 06-19-2008 10:18 AM

:( Any news on console perts in general or the Wii still the most liekly one? :(

That's the most recent Wii news and even that's not promising.

There is no date for PS3 or 360 either. It's confirmed for September on PC, Mac, DS and Mobile Phone

Drakul 06-19-2008 04:21 PM

I tried the download on a relatives laptop today and it's pretty good. I only made two creatures quickly.

Tiglar
http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/9...8b4dfulne3.png
The "Tig" part comes from tiger, obviously, because of the stripes and "lar" just sounds cute.

After making the cute creature I went for one that was not so cute.Called it Stigatious. Not sure why. It's a giant, eyeless bug thing.
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/8...48b49fupe4.png

I have a video of each of them walking about so I might put them up.
BTW Has anyone else made GIFs?

Extreme Angle 06-19-2008 04:48 PM

i'm downloading the full version now. You get the trial version, get the torrent off demonoid, then switch the data folders, then it works apparently.

Linkage to torrent.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-19-2008 05:31 PM

http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/4...re?tab=summary

This isn't the full version still, that's not out. This is a version that comes with new HP computers and has 75% of the full version, whereas the demo has 25%

Extreme Angle 06-20-2008 02:54 AM

its on demonoid... but yeah its 75% of full version

Mercury Bullet 06-20-2008 05:03 PM

I don't know what to think of this game, it looks awesome but I'm afraid it would get old quick.

Extreme Angle 06-21-2008 04:49 AM

Yeah it does...

Drakul 06-21-2008 04:53 AM

Well, this is just a simple demo of the creature creator. The full game has 5 phases:
Cellular, Creature, Tribal, Civilization and Space. Constantly evolving your creature and choosing between being diplomatic or agressive and creating your own weapons, buildings, vehicles and stuff as well as eventually exploring other planets full of other players creatures should make the game last quite a while.

Xero 06-21-2008 06:31 AM

Essentially it's a demo teaser that you have to pay for.

I'm getting sort of tired of companies releasing demos as paid games. Either release it free or don't release it, don't gouge your fanbase.

Then again, this is EA, so...

This has been leaked. Have fun. :)

#BROKEN Hasney 09-04-2008 03:04 AM

Yeah, been playing it for a couple of days now. Fucking incredible game

DS 09-04-2008 08:19 AM

I don't know if I would go that far. It's good, but not as good as I was expecting. I'd stick it around a 7 or so.

Boomer 09-04-2008 11:00 AM

I'd basically say the same thing.

The most enjoyable part for me has easily been the space part. It is definitely the most polished part of the game, and has way more depth than any of the other parts. The fact that I considered quitting multiple times beforehand, however, means that the other parts probably could have used a little bit more depth and complexity.

I think this game is a centered a little too much around simplicity. I feel like almost everything has been dumbed down specifically for non-gamers, and the only parts that have enough depth for gamers to enjoy are the space part and the creature creator.

The creator is an absolute feat though. I'll give them that. It's so simple, yet always yields amazing results, and just takes only a few minutes of trial and error at most to figure out how to use it. And if you don't want to keep making everything the game asks you to, you can just use a preset look and change it to your liking.

But the gameplay just isn't that fun. The ability to share content is pretty awesome, and will probably end up being one of the games best selling points, but LittleBigPlanet has me way more excited about where the gaming world is heading with regards to user content. And I don't even own a PS3.

For the amount of time it took to make Spore, it should have been better.
