Isn't the newsboard and news forum fed from RSS feeds? Because they always have those identical "Bret Hart at RAW this Monday!!1!1!!!" advertisements.

Edit: LOL, yeah, it is. Ryan Clark doesn't write for this site.

So yeah, the MMA has to do with the other sites posting it, not TPWW.

The Naitch 07-08-2006 03:26 PM

The Hart of wrestling will beat again

IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!!!

You wanna talk wrestling? Cool. WWE stinks. Cena sucks. RVD does drugs. Angle is gonna die soon. TNA is WWE minor league. ROH is overrated. Zombie is awesome. New ECW is shit. Paul Heyman is a God. HHH is awesome/sucks. Which t-shirt should I vote for? I think that covers everything.

MMA is here to stay. I told Triple A (more like pleaded) to start covering it years ago because it was gonna explode and he chose to keep his wrestling site hanging on life support. And it's still on life support.

If you don't like wrestling, then why the fuck do you and all the alcoholic horny bastards in the casual forum bother coming here. Go to a damn MMA forum and talk about how Ortiz is going to whip Shamrock's ass. So what if its being compared. That is like saying that I could post a thread in the discussion forum about how Bush is the next Hitler because lots of people compare them to each other. Don't act like a fucking savior because you found UFC before it became a glorified fad.

Rob 07-08-2006 03:34 PM

Who is he talking about?

The Naitch 07-08-2006 03:37 PM

'Savior' aka the poster also known as Paul Carrington

Rob 07-08-2006 03:46 PM

Nice edit there Jimmy!

When was the last time you saw me in the casual forum in a post not concerning UFC or ripping Dazz?

Now where did I put my fishing rod?

James Steele 07-08-2006 04:04 PM

I wasn't saying you go into the casual forum. I am just saying that if you hate wrestling there is no need to be a regular poster on a fucking wrestling forum.

I think that actualy bolsters more than hurts the argument.

Dude. Take some Midol.

He was covering the "usual suspects" of the wrestling forum. The things all the "fans" post about regularly. Angle's gonna die, Heyman is God, etc.

Savio 07-08-2006 04:17 PM

I found UFC while it was becoming a glorified fad.

Kane Knight 07-08-2006 04:26 PM

I found UFC when I was looking for gay porn on the web.

...Errr...I mean I KNEW ABOUT IT BEFORE IT WAS EVEN ON TV!

The Naitch 07-08-2006 04:31 PM

I knew about it before it was even underground. Hell, I knew about it before they even started the damn company! HA! I WIN

Skippord 07-08-2006 07:03 PM

Woah this went insane, but seriously if UFC is an actual sport http://www.tpww.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8 discuss in the sports forum.

After lurking on the forums for quite awhile, this is just about the most mortifyingly accurate post I've seen yet. Gave me a chuckle.

:y:

St. Jimmy 07-09-2006 05:13 PM

Punk still needs to play a deaf character. That = Ratings. UFC is pretty meh, I mean there's real contact... just not enough of it. It's not constant. For ever 3:00 of action, there's 10 of side-stepping. I've seen more contact in boxing. I would love to see two people just go balls to the wall and explode on each otehr for 15 mins straight. No sitting, no waiting, no prancing. Fist-To-Face assbeatings. Until I see that, I'd much rather watch scripted television.

As a guy who's been a MMA fan since before UFC I, as someone who competes MMA, I can safely say, as KK has, that UFC belongs more in this forum than the random bullshit sport scores in Raw threads. They are comparable, yet WWE fails in comparrison. WWE mentions MMA regularly on it's program, you know why? Because if it points out what they have in common, WWE feels it will become more credible.

For people who consistantly bash the product of WWE, and TNA for that matter, you all sure are bias towards the programs.

Rob knows, MMA is more entertaining because it's real. WWE was so close to getting that big fight atmosphere back with guys like Benoit, Angle, and Brock and they dropped the ball. They stopped being a wrestling company, and started being sports entertainment. Vince never wanted a wrestling company, the sooner you guys see that the better off you'll be. UFC has every right to be in this forum, even more so than the WWE conversations do, at least until the "wrestling" comes back and is no longer a dirty word on TV .

What the fuck are you going on about? I'm pretty sure that the button you click on to get into this forum looks like this.

wrestling forum (25 Viewing)
Discuss news, storylines, or any other wrestling related topic.

UFC IS NOT WRESTLING. I'm not going to sit here and debate about similarities between the two, how much WWE fears UFC, etc. What it comes down to is this is a pro-wrestling forum (which includes sports entertainment, because that's mainly what American pro-wrestling is.) People don't talk about amateur wrestling in here, nor do they talk about boxing, so why should UFC be any different? It is a sport. It is a mixed martial arts competition. It is not pro-wrestling. How hard is this to comprehend? I don't give two shits about the topics in the forum. For the most part, I don't read them. However, saying they "belong" in the wrestling forum makes no sense.

What Would Kevin Do? 07-10-2006 04:25 AM

Oh, and BTW. Saying WWE mentions UFC is not a reason. That'd be like me posting a review of a CD in the wrestling forum just because the band had one song that WWE used on a ppv or someone's entrance.

Mercy Drive has gotten a few topics in the wrestling forums. Same with other acts.

Where exactly were the complaints for those?

Kane Knight 07-10-2006 10:57 AM

BTW, I just picked up UFC 52 from Blockbuster. They were doing a 4 used for 20 deal, and had a couple movies I wanted. :D

Fuck if I know. I usually just ignore most of the topics anyway. I ended up reading this one out of boredom. Like I said, I personally don't give 2 fucks, but to claim UFC topics BELONG in the wrestling forum just makes no sense.

I wouldn't agree with that first sentence at all. MMA is entertaining because the guys bust their arses to entertain the fans and don't have the restrictions that is ultra frustrating in pro wrestling. WWE could be just as exciting without real fights, infact they should be better really since everything they do is a work. They can book perfect scenarios which UFC can't but UFC knows how to build basic feuds far better than they do.

There are more real wrestlers in UFC than there is in WWE. What doesn't belong now?

O_o

Rob, you are prolly the best MMA poster here, which I respect, but this is retarded.. I watch MMA as much as possible but never watch wrestling any more.. Fuck sake, I didn't even know MMA was discussed in depth in here until today.. It should go in the sports forum due to it being a sport..

Rob 07-10-2006 01:24 PM

I'd rather it be in the sports forum but people are saying that it absolutely has no place here. I disagree.

Kris P Lettus 07-10-2006 01:29 PM

I see both sides.. Truthfully, I wish that mods would make a decision so it'll be in one forum.. As of right now, it's in sports, wrestling, tv, and casual..

One place would be nice, regaurdless of where it is..

Continue igoring them then. Nobody's making you do otherwise.

That doesn't matter. This forum is about PRO-wrestling. You don't see people starting topics about National High School wrestling championships, do you? While MMA guys may have a wrestling backround, that does not mean MMA belongs in a forum about pro-wrestling. Likewise, Brock tried out for the NFL, and he was a former amateur and pro wrestler. If he would have made it onto the team, it wouldnt' be justified to post about every game that team played.

If anything, I'd agree that an MMA forum could be a sub forum of a wrestling forum, but since AAA isn't doing that, it fits better in the sports forum. MMA is competitive, wrestling is not.

Kane Knight 07-10-2006 02:00 PM

MMA is also filling the wrestling fan niche by providing contemporary action that appeals to wrestling fans. I mean, Jesus, this is unscripted, but it's got the drama, the promotion, and the intensity wrestling used to have.

Sure, it doesn't have the benefit of being scripted, but to say it's not relevant is to ignore that there are suitable comparisons between the two that will come up in the course of a wrestling forum, and more specifically that will interest and even blow away wrestling fans.

TerranRich 07-10-2006 02:02 PM

The Wrestling Forum is meant to "Discuss news, storylines, or any other wrestling related topic", as stated on the main page. You want to talk about UFC here, ask Triple A to change the name and subtitle. Otherwise, until then, STFU and go to the Sports forum, where it belongs.

If someone made a thread about a sports team after it was mentioned on RAW, I'd say the same damn thing. This isn't about bitching about wrestling "marks" versus whatever.

Where in the forum desctipion - "Discuss news, storylines, or any other wrestling related topic" - does it limit discussion to pro wrestling?

Since we brought up his name - Triple A's "Wrestling" website had major XFL features and it's head to toe in MMA news right now.

We can discuss something hot like MMA and a proper invasion that Vince McMahon can't fuck up. Or we can discuss The Miz or DX's fireworks.

Kane Knight 07-10-2006 02:28 PM

When football players start getting called out or they adopt a football style in WWE, we'll talk about that comparison.

Not to mention wrestling "related" is open ended.
