Do I even need to talk about the awesomeness that is Jericho?

D Mac 12-06-2006 03:00 PM

Fuck that he needs to go to TNA.

MLW 12-06-2006 03:02 PM

Fuck TNA...He needs to come back to the WWE and take the title of that useless Cena!

Yeah agreed, I just wonder though if he came straight back and went after Cena, whether that ring rust might give Cena the upper hand.

I'm sure Jericho hasn't been training hard enough, so it's too close to call really.

Even with ring rust Jericho is ten times the wrestler than Cena will ever be!

Jake said he never really wanted the title I think he said he refused one once.

Thats very cool, I've noticed that too. He rose through the ranks quickly and so did the other two. In fact, the 3 of them were extremely unique. 3 great talents and great wrestlers, who were very similar yet distinctly different. In 2000 their star power all skyrocketed immensely. They were the near-future of the company, and the WWE knew this. The Fully Loaded PPV that year was clearly all about them. But unfortunatley they failed to move the ball on them totally. Don't get me wrong, they all were well used, but were noticably held down due to the Rock, Austin, Triple H and Undertaker all being around.

Also, I always find it cool to watch wrestlemanias and see where the talent has come in a year. Its a benchmark to measure how a guy has progressed. Its cool to watch HHHs wrestlemanias, and Jerichos, and now Edge.

I once felt exactly like you, honestly. I truly thought he was the next "torch carrier" in line from Hogan, Bret, Shawn, Austin, The Rock.
I've always whined about how he wasnt given his due, and in a lot of ways I still maintain this to be true. He definitely was given the shaft somewhere between 2000 and 2002. And it wasn't his fault. However as time goes on I learn not to focus on the negative completely. We Jerichoholics and most intelligent wrestling fans know what could have been, but we can't change what was. Nevertheless, he had/may still have a great career in professional wrestling. He's held just about every title in the industry. Hes given us all these great moments and had a lot of great moments and accomplishments. Put us total Jericho-marks in the shoes of those who are the same way about other wrestlers. Things could be worse, much worse.
And besides, its not over til the fat lady sings. If its any consolation, sometimes it takes absence for someone to notice. Jericho returning to the WWE would make him as over as ever, and an ace in the hole in a time where they need over, charasmatic, youthful but veteran talent.
Perhaps we haven't seen the best of Jericho yet...

I hate to say it, but Jake the snake is a blithering idiot. This guy once said about Chris Jericho, "a major failure. He's been given everything that HOGAN has and MORE and hasn't been able to run with it"
I liked Jake as much as the next mark, until I grew up and learnt about who he really is and some of the shit hes said like this.

That was my point, when Jericho was being fed to Cena and fired like a bitch instead of getting a decent send-off that he deserved. I felt like that.

Realistically, if the guy retired now, you can't really fault his career. 7 IC title runs, countless tag runs, 3 time World Champ, the first ever undisputed champ, headlined Wrestlemania against Triple H at the point the company was at its peak, the man has done it all.

I don't blame Jericho for looking for other avenues for his career. Sadly, he's not muscle bound enough to be a movie star of any magnitude and plus, he never got the mainstream exposure that befell Austin & The Rock.

If he ever came back, unannounced, perhaps as the new GM of ECW, I would go crazy. If he went to TNA, I would watch every week. If he went to SD, I would watch every week. The guy is the one person in Wrestling that would make me do that.

I hope he comes back, 'to save the WWE', but I'm not holding my breath.

Jeritron 12-07-2006 08:34 AM

I think he will. Either way I'm watching whatever hes on. If hes on EWTN reading passages fromt he bible at 3am I'm gonna stay up to watch it for christ sakes.
Yes, his send off sucked but hey, theres been worse. They bookede him in a title fued and kayfabe explained his leaving. Most guys just dissapear. Its not a permenant send off anyways. Its not like I ever expected him to win the title and vacate it. They didnt even do that for Foley.
Jericho will be back.
